Zarkan Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 (edited) Then I believe the "T" sets are giant robots. I pray that they arn't vehicles. A BZP member said he wanted "giant weapons to place your entire hand or arm in to fire them." :'-( Problem is, he'll probably get what he wants, since TLC is aiming Bionicle at the 8-10 year old range, and are now trying to get 6-7 year olds into it as well. :-( Eh, even if Mazeka is the original Makuta, I won't be unhappy, since he'll still be "THE MAKUTA" to me. However, I WILL be unhappy if he is just another Phantoka Makuta clone with a tridax pod chest and cheesy slapped together weapons! Come on TLC, 2007 had the best bionicle lineup since 2001, and now you're throwing all the genius put into Maxilos and Nocturn down the drain. >:-( Edited January 1, 2008 by Grevious Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Some guesses on summer set judging by their names... 8688 Toa Gali The Toa of Water we all know and love. :D 8689 Toa Tahu The Toa of Fire we all know and love. :D 8690 Toa Onua The Toa of Earth we all know and love. :D 8694 Krika Probably the female Makuta. 8695 Gorast Probably the brustish Makuta out of the group. 8696 Bitil Probably a skinny Makuta (brittle - bitil :D ) 8698 Vultraz I'm guessing this one is a Phantoka type, and resembles a vulture. 8699 Takanuva Well, obviously Takanuva, but I can't help but wonder... what will the steed or "vehicle" be? 8941 Rockoh T3 Probably an order of Mata Nui member... "T" is probably like "007," a codename thing. Maybe a brute. 8942 Jetrax T6 Another OoMN member... possibly flies? (Jetrax) 8943 Axalara T9 Hmmmm... they seem to be skipping by 3's... strange. This sounds like a female name. 8954 Mazeka You know what? I really don't know about this one. I will think about it. Posted this on BZP too. I think a good name for this group is "Swamik." LordGalewind Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 (edited) Well for Gali, Tahu, and Onua and the other Makuta if they are anything like the Phantoka earlier this year they should be good sets for the most part. The canister sets this year are some of the most original and unique I have seen since 2001, and for the most part im happy. The Midak Skyblasters have to be the best auxilary component created yet. The colors I am liking alot, the construction aesthetics are decent, nice to see a newer style with both the Makuta and Toa. What I do not like though is the little piece jutting out of their backs for the matoran to "piggy back" should you say.....it just seems creep. As for the titans............bleh. Icarax and Mutran are just anorexic conglamarations of taller Phantoka Makuta with a bunch of old parts thrown together in a very distasteful manner. The Ignika on the other hand is better looking, yellow is different for a toa, and the skyboard is really awesome, but the set is still simplistic. Hopefully looking up to the summer T3, T6, and T9 will give the unique concepts that the rahi did, and hopefully not follow in the footsteps of Icarax....... As for Makuta, i dont know if he will be a set this year (most likely not). I am fine with Makuta as being a species name, but MoMN will always be THE MAKUTA to me, the big hauncho and leader regardless of his true name. By the way, over at BZP they finally figured out what "Krika" means......poor stupid sensless children. One last note....Ravendorn and Clonie....I'm a moron with your nonsense already.... iamded Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 The reason there are no Matoran in the 2nd half of '08 is because they were all featured in the 1st half. Only some went evil. Gavla "Out for revenge! The first Matoran of Light to be corrupted by the Makuta, Gavla is out to avenge years of being shunned by her own people." Radiak "A hero gone bad! Once a great Matoran hero, Radiak now fights his former friends with wings, fangs and four wickedly sharp blades." Kirop "Leader of the evil Matoran! Once he was the leader of the Matoran in Karda Nui -- now he rules the evil Matoran who threaten their lives! Large claw blades and wings are his most formidable weapons." Sorry if this has already been posted before. :-$ ~Peace Quote
Clonie Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Yeah, we, like, knew that since we got pics of them. :P Looking at that Tahu Mata pic, I hope the new Tahu's mask lives up to that Hau design. That mask is like, Bionicle in mask form. Oh by the way, krika isn't actually what Urban Dictionary says it is. That site's full of crap. Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Although technically slang is created by normal people and so the normal people writing on the site are correct, correct? Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Well, the Phantoka Nuva's masks resembled those of the original Nuva in some ways... I don't give a damn if Gali or Onua's masks are different, but PLEASE KEEP THE HAU MORE OR LESS THE SAME! It has to have the circle mouth... -ZotS Quote
iamded Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Yeah, we, like, knew that since we got pics of them. :P Oh snap. I thought I read somewhere someone wondering why there were no Matoran for the 2nd half of '08. Maybe that was on BZP. *wacko* :-$ ~Peace Quote
Clonie Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Although technically slang is created by normal people and so the normal people writing on the site are correct, correct? Yes, of course. 4. lego 22 up, 77 down code for sex. see jenga Omfg! Urban Dictionary says that about Lego, therefore, that's what Lego means! They have to change the company name, because someone put that on Urban Dictionary, the most accurate site on the net! |-/ As you can see I'm annoyed about people WANTING it to mean what UD says. Move on, man. X-D Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 So you're gonna generalise which automatically makes me wrong. Did you know what krika was before hand? So how can you say that website's definition is incorrect? Quote

Lord Thrawn Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 At the risk of sounding like a pervert, there is. EDIT: In reply to Clonie, fair enough. We can't exactly say for sure the website is wrong, but we can't say its right. Unless one of us wants to go to cuba and ask everyone what it means which I'm betting neither of us wants to do. :P There are, in fact, 82,300 hits for krika on Google, only 1 of which refers to it as being a bad word. Wow, he must have been there a while checking huh? Now let's discuss some Bionicle! :D Quote
Zarkan Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Man, those kids on BZP need to calm down. Glad to see Greg's taken care of everything over there. This post in his blog replies was great: I have been surprised to see people actually threatening to leave BIONICLE over this.If someone did drop the line over this, I would expect them to be on the phone to their local furniture stores tomorrow demanding that they stop using the words "table" and "chair" since they are slang for bad words also, according to the same web site. If someone is going to blame BIONICLE for this then they have to give equal treatment to everyone else who uses any of the several thousand words on that site, right? (BTW, the same site also lists "LEGO" as being slang for something not to be brought up on a site with children on it -- so I think we can see how absurd this all is.) Greg :-D Quote
Clonie Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 So yeah, back to Bionicle. Did anyone notice that Solek has unique limbs? And the Toa Mata feet have been modified? That means only the weapons are old. Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 How are the Mata feet modified? And, yeah, I noticed Solek's unique limbs... I personally think that they are the best. -ZotS Quote
Clonie Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 The edges of the joint thingies are modified... I'll get a pic up... If I ever get them. :-| X-D Quote
Shakar Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 I got the six Phantoka today. I really like them. My favourite Toa is Lewa, while my favourite Makuta is Vamprah. Besides removing the red axles and the blue long O pins and giving to the Toa Nuva different eye colours, I didn't do any major modifications, because they didn't require them. Their designs are much better than the rushed Mahri designs. Personally, I'd recommend them all. *y* Shakar Quote

I find the new Toa to have too much grey, myself. Nice designs, but too much grey. -Tohst Quote
Clonie Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 I think a more appropriate phrase would be "I don't like all the grey," since it's not a universal fact and I happen to like it. :-) Quote
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Oh god, keep that bonesish nitpicking out of here. It's damaged BZP enough already. :-P We all know what he means by 'there's too much grey' -- it means he would prefer less. Not some fact to be heeded unquestioningly. ;-) -Ikk Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 I'm sure you've all seen the new Bionicle.com. It's sweet. The Phantoka look great! Love the bios... I love Kopaka's quote. The story seems intresting! The game was really fun! Phantoka (45 sec) movie was really great. Same with the Mahri blooper ( :-D ) But the 4 minute movie of the past... ah... that made me feel all tingly inside. All of those good years... Can't wait to get the Phantoka! Oh, and Shakar, what do you think of the Nuva and Makuta sets? Do you thing the Makuta are menacing? Do you think the Nuva look a bit like the heroes we all know and love? And thought you might want to know, I changed my name on BZPower to ~Air-Spirit-Lewa~. -ZotS Quote

There are too many cases in 'Deal or No Deal' and Herbie Goes Bananas is the best movie of all time. As I have said, so it shall be! ;-) - Tohst and to actually stay on topic: FACT - the Toa Metru were the best Toa ever FACT - they had too much grey also FACT - The new Toa have no grey FACT - They have too much grey FACT - contradictory facts create alternate universes And I wasn't so happy that the bad guys all have black cores.
