I'm sure you've all seen the new Bionicle.com. It's sweet. The Phantoka look great! Love the bios... I love Kopaka's quote. The story seems intresting! The game was really fun!

Phantoka (45 sec) movie was really great.

Same with the Mahri blooper ( :-D )

But the 4 minute movie of the past... ah... that made me feel all tingly inside. All of those good years...

Can't wait to get the Phantoka!

Oh, and Shakar, what do you think of the Nuva and Makuta sets? Do you thing the Makuta are menacing? Do you think the Nuva look a bit like the heroes we all know and love?

And thought you might want to know, I changed my name on BZPower to ~Air-Spirit-Lewa~.

Where's that 4min movie? I can't seem to find it :-/

Menacing? Yup. They're some of the creepiest Bionicle villains I've seen. The wings, the vampire like theet (especially the ones on Vamprah), the claws, the ribcages...just as creepy as the Barraki, if not more. IMO what these Makuta sets have, compared to past canister bad guys, is a terrifying aura of authority, Antroz in particular has this. I really love these sets.

The Toa Nuva are better than I thought. Sure, they have old designs, but they end up looking very nice. As for them looking like their former selves...Lewa has lime, a katana-like weapon and a mask that looks like a cross between the Miru Nuva and the Faxon. Kopaka's mask is more like a great Matatu than an Akaku, however I consider him the one that looks like his classic form the most. Pohatu, except the pincers / propellors / drills, looks nothing like his former self. But really, I like them as sets so I don't mind them looking too different than their Nuva forms. I say that the pictures you've seen of them don't make them justice, especially Kopaka. They are all very good.

I got the six Phantoka today. I really like them. My favourite Toa is Lewa, while my favourite Makuta is Vamprah. Besides removing the red axles and the blue long O pins and giving to the Toa Nuva different eye colours, I didn't do any major modifications, because they didn't require them. Their designs are much better than the rushed Mahri designs.

What? *wacko* I totally disagree! The Mahri had some of the greatest canister set designs ever, IMO, and the Phantoka were just really lame compared to them. :-/

Oh god, keep that bonesish nitpicking out of here. It's damaged BZP enough already.

And that would probably bring the total bones jokes to about 10 on these forums. Seriously, I'd like to see some serious BZP post quotes that justify making him out to be evil or something, because I've read a lot of his stuff and he's a pretty great guy, IMO. Besides, even he has said that he can be wrong like everyone else, UNLIKE some people seem here sometimes. *sad*

Oh, I didn't know that the lego site was updated! Man, got to check it out! *sweet*

Well, it WAS mainly a joke. :-P But while he's a great guy, he does seem to have some extreme pet peeves regarding debate terms, such as opinion vs. taste, clonism vs. repetition, and so on. That stuff can be helpful, but he overdoes it. A lot. In my tastes. :-D

On topic... I'm curious to see Tahu's redesign. The Nuva Phantoka all used the brightest colors of their elements, and orange is taken, so maybe some Mata red and grey...?

Oh, and I agree on the Mahri/Phantoka, Grevious. *sweet*

Interesting. Very Interesting. (Should I say that in my opinion, they are interesting? Nah! Its implied.)

I like what looks like a new spikey head piece.

I bet that piece on 8942 is Onua's new tool (and again it looks more like the Metru tool than the Mata. But I'll bet a whole dollar thats what it ends up being)

I hope neither of the red masks shown in Tahu's but I'm not getting my hope up on that either.

As for the vehicle's themselves. I'm hoping they have exisitng Toa in some cases because they are preliminary. Other than that, I must say the vehicles have gotten sooo much better from the days of Takanuva or even Lesovik. Someone is really giving these thoughts so they look like cool vehicles with random bits of protodermis weapons as opposed to just random bits of protodermis weapons like they used to.

Would I rather have weapons in various colors. Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes and I will continue to call for that until 1) I die 2) Bionicle dies, or 3) I get weapons in various colors. (4) others on the board cut off my fingers so they don't have to hear it anymore)

So, 8699 is the new 'THE' Makuta? Because it really looks like an update of the old set. Even moreso than the New Toa Nuva look ;-) I just can't leave my soap boxes alone, can I?

But yeah, interesting as both sets and as a different direction for Bionicle. But if the final sets are as good as the preliminary, I'll be happy.

FACT - 2/3rds of statistics you hear are made up!

HOLY! :-X and *sweet*

8699 looks like takanuva

jifel

Yikes! I thought it was Makuta but with all the white you could be right.

-Tohst

FACT - Takanuva always gets picked last for kickball.

It is like a dream come true! Toa soaring on maxed out flying machines! The toa do look very nice. I do detect a unnecessary launching mechanism on all of them, (insert frown here) but they still look great!

sorry for my above post, i was walking out the door. any way, they all look good but i put a :-X because it just dosnt feel right, its not bioniclish, although still cool. i can see great scenes and videos with these, 8941-8943 look like OoMN members. 8698 looks like this guy i cant remember the name ofbut it beginswith an "m"

Having not really followed the story line since the original 6 Bionicle through to the Rahkshi, I really don't know what's going on. The last one reminds me of a mix of good and evil, like Takuta Nuva or whatever from the 1st Bionicle movie. :-P

However, the whole guys in vehicles in Bionicle scale is new, and doesn't look bad at all.

So, the Nuva get to transform... again...

I'm guessing that the red Toa in 8942 was originally Tahu, but that that teams changed, and that it'll end up being Kopaka.

From BZP

"Recently several member members reported that Brickset, an online Lego set database, had updated with information about the upcoming summer 2008 sets. While Lego has neither confirmed nor denied the veracity of these set names, some may consider them spoilers. If you do not wish to know what may be the names of the summer sets, DO NOT read on.

To restate, we have contacted Greg Farshtey about the names. He has already confirmed the four upcoming Toa sets, but cannot comment about the remaining set names. Based on past experience, they're probably at least somewhat correct, but they are not official, and certainly not final.

The first three are the remaining Toa Nuva:

8688 Toa Gali

8689 Toa Tahu

8690 Toa Onua

Based on the set numbers, the next three are additional Makuta to supplement the three that have already been released:

8694 Krika

8695 Gorast

8696 Bitil

Of the remaining sets, the only one there is any official word on is Takanuva, which Greg has confirmed will be a set this year. The rest may be Warrior-sized sets, the names certainly don't suggest playsets:

8698 Vultraz

8699 Takanuva

8941 Rockoh T3

8942 Jetrax T6

8943 Axalara T9

8954 Mazeka

when we hear more information, we'll let you know!"

... What?

I actually like them... The figures in the actual vehicles needs some changing (TWO Pohatus?!).

I'm glad they are preliminary, but if they turn out not too different from these, I'd be happy.

EDIT: 2003 Makuta vs. 2008 Takunuva! :'-)

ah ha! the "m" guy i mentioned is mazeka!( thanks smith_boy)

kynok, thats not pohatu

all look like allies of the toa(midaks)

also those might not be toa. i think theyre OoMN members, but may be former toa.

Mmmmh, I love that 8699

The other ones not so much... But then again, so far I've only been interested in the Titan or Warrior sets. They usually have a much better and intricate build (Maxilos anyone? :-P ) Plus, they are fewer and take less space in my room X-D
