Right.

Uh-huh.

Sure.

Let me ask you, were you around for his transformation to Nuva?

Though not online yet, I was. I was there since 2002 (admitted openly, I might add) to today. I saw them transform into Toa Nuva.

Did I see one complaint they changed from Mata to Nuva? Not yet.

But I'm sure there were some. We got used to it.

Plus, who says Lego is forcing you to buy Tahu? They offer other great sets, too. Plus, you never know, his tool MIGHT be useful for one of Jinzo's Riot series MOCs. Or Cajun's Mechas. Or even a TransforMOC. Can we say "Helicopter blades?"

If anything, the new mask reminds me of the classic Hau. The shape is right. If anything, these new masks look much better than the Nuva 02 series (they were released in 02, look it up). Instead of resembling a blob or some kind of futuristic device, they look much more like masks of power.

And like I said, can we not wait until Toyfair to make final judgements? Perhaps the image they have was an old one, it's happened before (not recently). -Swert

Finally, someone else who actually thinks that the new Tahu is worth something. X-D

Well, one thing we don't like about Tahu is his mask. It isn't the same... this was the only mask I expected to be more or less the same. Also, note how he has a FRICKING ninja star and rockets placed all over him clumsily. I'll still get him, but if the ToyFair still has him looking like that, I will lose all hope for my favourite Toa to have some resembelance.

-ZotS

I personally think it looks alot like the Original Hau. He does look like a Ninja. NINJAS FTW.

Wow... I really do not like that post. Your second post here on EB and your implying we are noobs and telling us to I'm a moron?

Tisk, tisk, tisk... I've never liked a dirty mouth. Even if it's an acronymn

I don't like the word "judgment." I prefer "opinion."

Yes, some members are making an opinion on these photos. But that does not mean it will be their final opinion. It's only our opinion at the moment. And, like the pictures, these opinions are subject to change. You yourself posted your own opinion on these photos. Your opinion is that you like them. Does that mean that we all have to? Nope! Not at all!

Here on Euro Bricks, Keyblade, we value each other's opinion instead of telling each other to I'm a moron. So lets stay away from that dark... dark pathway, and be gratefull for each other as a communty. :-) Take it from all of us here on the BIONICLE forum that you want to stay on the good side of a guy named Starwars4J. ;-)

I'm sorry, but if you can't handle swearing, you're immature.

I think there's a slight chance they'll change. Not that I'd prefer it either way.

Please tell me you don't think that's Tahu Mistika. Or we'll have to bring Chuck Norris Here.

OFF TOPIC: PANAMORE FTW!

Agreed.

Particularly about the mask. Besides the addition of the fin, the mask looks quite reminiscent of the old Hau but with something covering the mouth, which makes perfect sense as they may have to go underwater from time to time in the swamp.

And what's with all the ninja-star comments? They look like daggers or wrist-blades of some kind to me...

Sorry to say, I don't agree with you. The Hau only has one thing in resembelance, and thats the smooth forehead.

And also, I find swearing immature. It's something people really don't have to do.

Where the rockets are placed is corny. They might be proto pics, but the Tahu one is MOST clear. The thing on his one hand looks ridiculous and slapped on. For being year 2008 of a line that came out in 2001... it should be just so much better.

Please tell me you don't think that's Tahu Mistika. Or we'll have to bring Chuck Norris Here.

Nah, that's the prototype Tahu Nuva from way back. He's just sayin' that they tend to change somewhat from proto to production model.

Did I see one complaint they changed from Mata to Nuva? Not yet.

But I'm sure there were some. We got used to it.

I never did. The armor and weapons were nice (at first), but their masks had turned to blobs of goo while the majority of their legs were replaced with moc-worthless, hollowed-out bellbottoms.

Plus, you never know, his tool MIGHT be useful for one of Jinzo's Riot series MOCs. Or Cajun's Mechas. Or even a TransforMOC. Can we say "Helicopter blades?"

The addition of "real", undeniable weapons was good, but at this late point in time, it's become mundane. It's like the same parts but with a different curve. If 2001 had too many tools, all these later sets have too many damn swords. As for helicopter blades... Bionicle's already drowning in them. Overkill. That's the word I'm lookin' for... overkill.

If anything, these new masks look much better than the Nuva 02 series (they were released in 02, look it up). Instead of resembling a blob or some kind of futuristic device, they look much more like masks of power.

Now you're talkin' my language. The Nuva masks were butt-fugly. In comparison, yes, the new ones are definitely better... I'm not sure where you're seeing Tahu in there though. I always liked his octopus ("tako", in japanese) mouth. The lines on the sides of his mask looked like they represented arms, the middle was the mouth, and the smooth dome head finished it off.

He's not unique, he's Frankensteined.

Ok, there's jets, so he probably should be streamlined. But he's wearing air-resistant SNOW SHOES. And the blade dealie on his arm or the launcher can't be helpin' matters.

Aside from the neat mask... he's just kind of "there". Wonky set design aside, calling him Tahu is just that extra push over the cliff.

Posted (edited)

I think the only real complaint I have with the Mistika so far is the darned accessorizing. I have no issues with the main designs, but it seems like the set designers are getting a little trigger-happy with the fins & jets, y'know? :-/

I do respect them, I just don't understand

why so many people have problems with

sets that haven't even come out yet.

Not to stray too off topic, still bionicle related...but.............

Where in the hell are all these "BZPers" coming from...I sense an overwhelming power of stupidity and political correctness coming this way.

They have come!

I must comment.

1. First of all, I'm too lazy to go back 10 pages. 10 bloody pages. Why? Because I feel like we've been invaded by opportunistic BZPers. It's annoying. Lets pray they make mistakes so they can be sent to The Pit or whatever Matoran hell is called. (Just kidding)

2. I love Tahu. His mask is different because...well...they're all getting different masks. This isn't a problem for me. Gali and Onua, from that tiny pic, look beyond awesome.

3. Ok, what's up with this "phantoka" and then "Mistika" thing? If the answer is 20 pages back, don't ask me to look in there. It'll only serve to highlight despotism (And it's not gonna come from the good Eurobricks bunch XD). We have a crisis here, and we should stand united!

The Makuta of course...look terrible. I'm not gonna get any of this.

And I know this is off-topic, but WHY AREN'T THE MAHRI HALF CUT BY NOW? Seriously, they'r last year's stuff, and they STILL cost $10, which I swore I would never pay, due to their lack of electronics and the fact that they feel a little repetitive, even if they aren't clones from one another. But seriously, anyone seen the Mahri at half price anywhere in the US?

To answer you're question for number 3, Phantoka means spirits of the air, and its the sub name of the winter sets in 2008. Misitika is apparently the summer 2008 sub name.

They have come!

Some of these "BZPers" are coming due to BZP's virus issue.

Some are coming because their own BS01 staff linked them here >>

And some are directed by Google/other search engines searching for "2008 Summer pics."

That's where they come from. Make sense? -Swert, 5-year BZP Member (joined around 4500 members)

You weren't on-line for it- I was. I cannot recall a single complaint beyond the MOCist disapproval of the masks and legs. The Nuva were cool. In ways the Newva cannot be. If just for character recognition. These don't even share colour schemes with the old ones!

Also; 'You'll get used to it' is a poor excuse.

"I'm poor and starving!"

"You'll get used to it."

Sure, they're not forcing us to buy anything. Sure, they offer other lines for us to buy from. But why is that an excuse for poor set design??

Take off the high-horse blinders, Swert. We have a legit picture of Tahu. Yes, he might change. He probably will, but not in any way that matters. The differences between the first Phantoka pictures and the final models are negligible. The Inika design differences were negligible. So were the Mahri. There is no reason to discourage opinion making just because you dislike the opinions being made. We have a clear picture, and anyone who has built a set in the past three years knows how he's constructed. There's no guesswork here.

So can we jump down off the balcony of haughtiness now? Many of us here are adults, and the majority of the rest are at least somewhat intelligent teenagers. We are allowed to formulate our own opinions, and hey, you are as well. I respect that, and so do others here. Reciprocation would be swell.

If you want to wait to make your judgment calls (though it seems from your posts you've already made them), cool. Let us continue our discussion on how we feel about them now, with the current information available.

Also, I do hope the new BZP immigrants become less... frustrating.

I came here for the leaked images X-D . But DV brings up some very good points. I'm gonna get these sets, but the thing is, they could be better. We don't have to buy the sets, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't try to create intersting and innovative designs, not stick to the same old boring thing we saw with the Inika and the Mahri. Sure it was good when it came out, but we want to see something new for a change. So yeah, I agree with DV *vader*.

They have come!

While it does seem like a tidal wave crashed into our shores, the fact is, they're probably here to stay.

And since they're here, they can't be too stupid, can they?

Treat'em with respect. They're Eurobrickers now.

And to the new guys...

Likewise, what Darth said a few posts above.

Some of these "BZPers" are coming due to BZP's virus issue.

Uh... uh... no! Blasphemous child! No, It's just server problems! It's our... our provider! Yeah! Not programming issues at all!

... ...hmm... I think I need to cool it down too, however big a slap in the face truth that was.
