Dino_Bot Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I'm hugely disappointed in Takanuva. I wanted him to be a Toa. He's a freaking Titan. It's very disappointing. Even though he looks nice. Quote

Everybody? Thats a bit of a wild claim. I mean, its TLC's biggest selling brand, I find it hard to believe everyone will be killed off. It seems a bit anti-climactic after seven years for it to end like "and then they all die" If you can back up these ideas though, I will cheerfully withdraw my argument. :-) Quote
Illuminatus Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 From the looks of things, those are gonna be some of the worst BIONICLE sets so far. I can't believe they made Tahu this helmet-wearing ninja. Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 And it would also be nice to utilize designs that allow the canisters to stack easily. YES. I liked the very first Bionicle lids because, well, you could use them in mocs. They had connection points (although a bit loose in their execution). Failing THAT, at LEAST have the canisters be able to stack one on top the other! They're non-biodegradable hunks of plastic anyway, so make them able to DO something... LEGO-ey. I'm sure they have some weird business philosophy behind not making canisters able to stack, but whatever it is, it's probably REALLY flawed in it's logic. In the early Bionicle days, I'd buy sometimes 10 of the same-colored canister guy. Inevitably my Lego room (and the rest of the house) was a WASTELAND of Bionicle containers. At one point, I realized I'd subconsciously stopped buying canisters in part because I didn't want more clutter to throw out. I can say with 100% certainty that had I been able to stack them, say, 5 canisters high... I'd have a wall coated in them. True, the newer packaging might jump off the shelf at you, but in time, the adverse affect will be that consumer possibly not wanting to deal with them. Bioni-Cool Jack Posted Today, 03:53 PM From the looks of things, those are gonna be some of the worst BIONICLE sets so far. Nah, they're far from the worst. They are what they're supposed to be... action figures. Unfortunately, they're kinda' poopy as much more than that. These sets are still a couple steps up from retarded spiders with even more retarded spinners flying off their backs. >__< And they're WAY better than those hollowed-out monstrosities that were the Metrutorans. I mean cripes, they were just a shell with some limbs shooting off in weird directions. :-X Quote

True that. Fortunately, they did have some great pieces and masks, so I did buy all of them, and have used their pieces in quite a few MOC's. Besides, nothing beats the Mahritoran in terms of design. Those guys are about the greatest small sets we've even gotten in Bionicle, IMO. And before anyone says "Mctoran!" remember that you didn't actually buy those in stores like every other small set line since that. ;-) Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I so miss those stupid, little McToran... Sure, people should have been hung for that non-symmetrical hand job they were given, but the "universal" hand and all the other parts were mocing GOLD. I bought expensive sets in stores just to enhance the runty little guys I got for free in my Happy Meals. Nowadays, they just come with crappy 1 or 2 piece figures that just stand there. V__V Quote

V__V Well, at least the latest MCDs toys had moveable limbs.... The Burger King promotions for the first bionicle movie made those look like a genius idea. :-| Quote

Aww! Aren't you smart! How can you tell from a bunch of tiny pics? I think these are some of the best. Especially Pohatu. He brings something totally new to the mix, and it makes sense. Wayy better than the Mahri (which by the way, haven't been lowered in price by 50% or at least 30%...I'm very disappointed!) Quote

Ecto Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 They're not killing everybody! Greg has explicitly stated not a single hero will die this year! A reboot is not even the correct term, Greg says. They're taking the story in a new direction. Damn. Greg says this, Greg says that. :-/ Quote
Algernon Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I don't care about Bionicle lore. It's juvenile and poorly written. I'm much more interested in the general premise and the sets themselves. The new Toa are awesome, but I'm feeling lukewarm about these jet things... that's taking it a little far. (Although an air theme was an awesome idea) Quote

Phantoka Kopaka Nuva Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 These are brand new! But what's with the green monkey wearing a Volitak and a spider with Hydraxon's face? And where did you find these? Quote

Phantoka Kopaka Nuva Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I don't think it's Brickmaster. Greg said that the promo looked nothing like these (well, the spider). Not sure about the monkey, though... Quote

Dino_Bot Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I'm quite fond of the vehicle things. It's new and unexpected, and if they're as cool as Toa Ignika's sled....just imagine the potential MoCability of these! Sadly, I'm not goin' after them. I'm not interested in spending too much money (except on Toa, and there's just three left for me), and I'm disliking the Makuta. Quote
