Visorak-kal Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Sad news for all those who like this comic... New post on the Official Greg Discussion topic on BZP. Due to the fact that they've got a lot of CGI movies/animation planned for the summer, money was taken from the comics. Grievous (I believe it was Grievous) was correct in his note that the small thing on the bottom says "coming in July." There will be no May comic. Only four issues this year. However, we do get overall more comic pages. There are a total of 64 pages of comic this year, while last year there were only 48. VK Quote
Clonie Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Visorak-Kal: Well Australia is getting #13, Greg said. I'm not sure what's with that, if the next issue's in July. We'll see... Still, I like how they're doing a lot of CGA. CGA rox my Boxors. X-D Shakar: Well, I wasn't able to get Time Trap here. The Adventures series wasn't available in Australia, apparently. Quote
VBBN Posted March 5, 2008 Author Posted March 5, 2008 Dang LEGO, what a way to screw yourselves up. Maybe if you hadne't put all those new parts o the matoran you would have money to make good comics. :-| You were starting to revive yourselves too. :-/ Bu I still say that the comic is *wub* . Simply a buetiful creation, Leah(?). Quote
hewkii9 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Leigh. Darn you lego and your bad decisions regarding Bionicle! Quote

Besides, 2001 was great and we only needed three back then... Quote
S-N Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Plus, we got more CGI because of no May comics, and they will be scenes frorn BL11 Quote
InnerRayg Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Wow. Those comics are genius. Lego, why do you make this year so amazing. I love it so much right now, but I know that in the summer you're going to ruin it for me. :( Quote
BrotherDog Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 No offense, but shouldn't the comics have their own thread? EDIT: Comics from 2008 containing images of Bionicle characters don't belong in a Bionicle 2008 Images thread? -JINZO Quote
Clonie Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Not really, we generally have one active topic for BIONICLE, and when something major comes up, we move on to the new one to discuss it. Yeah, I spell it with capital letters now. :-P Quote
VBBN Posted March 5, 2008 Author Posted March 5, 2008 And basicly since this toic pertains to all things 2008 BIONICLE, it can go here. Anyway, I can kinda see a resemblance in tahu's eyes to his old hau... Quote
Icesaber Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 And basicly since this toic pertains to all things 2008 BIONICLE, it can go here. Anyway, I can kinda see a resemblance in tahu's eyes to his old hau... The only resemblance I can see is the three slashes in the cheek, like the Hau Mata. The Hau Mata and Hau Nuva (and Hau Metru, a little) look like they're fierce warriors, while the Hau Mistika looks like a quiet, sneaky type of guy. I personally think that with some mods, the Av-Matoran masks would've served as better masks for the Mistika. Oh yeah, I liked the new comic too. But the Templar animations were the greatest. Quote
Jetrax99 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I think some people are starting to go off topic EDIT: I hate to say it, for you probably meant well... but talking about what you ate for breakfast would possibly have been more on topic than this post. -JINZO Quote
Makuta'sdarkslave Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 That WAS a good comic, but I must say :"DAMNED LEGO, MAKING TERRIBLE DECISIONS FOR BIONICLE EACH YEAR, AND THEN CUTTING OUR COMICS AMOUNT... OF HOW MANY WE GET...!!!!!!!" However, I must also say: "YES!! WE ARE FINALLY GETTING MORE MOVIES, AND WITH SO MANY PLANNED, I JUST CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!" There, I said all I need to say. Thank you.... Phantoka Kopaka Nuva Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 News from Greg: Miserix is confirmed to be the Makuta building contest winner. Quote
Clonie Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 I hope he doesn't have a Tridax pod... that wouldn't make sense story-wise. Quote
hewkii9 Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 I hope they actually picked the best model, not the one with the silliest colour scheme, or built by the youngest kid, or the one with the most guns. Maybe another Devastator-like model, not another Vahki Hunter. Or maybe something that fit my first idea of Miserix as a more benevolent Makuta than the others, who simply retired from the organization. Quote

Or maybe something that fit my first idea of Miserix as a more benevolent Makuta than the others, who simply retired from the organization. Well, I am not too worried as the winners they have picked prior to this (the winners of the Dark Hunter contest, the Rahi contest, the Toa contest) have all been pretty good models. I recall Ancient was a superb model, and the Tahtorak was just amazing. I don't think they make decisions based on age, I've noticed they tend to like more complex models judging from the past winners. If you look, the Toa contest winner (krakua) did not even use the typical one-piece Toa body. Plus, Miserix actually isn't any more benevolent than the other Makuta. He isn't a nice person, according to the Official Greg Discussion on BZP. He just didn't think attacking Mata Nui was wise or feasible. I'm thinking that the other reason he might join with the Order of Mata Nui is possibly for revenge or for the same reason as Makuta Spiriah--no other choice. VK Quote
hewkii9 Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Well then, all the BZP'ers will cry as they cannot build him, most likely. And I know about Miserix, I was just saying what my first thought of what his personality would be was. Quote

Oh, I see. Yeah, I got that impression too from Miserix before we had seen him. The very fact that they were trying to rescue him gave me the impression that maybe he wasn't as bad as the rest of the Brotherhood. He probably isn't, but my new impressions from him based on his appearances haven't been those of a merciful Makuta, lol. VK Quote

No offense to Jason Stroud if you're reading this, but I fail to see why that model was chosen. It's just a Toa Hagah with Nivawk's legs, a tail, weapons, and a messed-up color scheme. I'm hoping for a model that doesn't look quite as evil as the Phantoka and Mistika. I know he's still evil, but I've imagined him as less evil, a little more held-back. And no guns. Quote
Ecto Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 I have nothing wrong with guns pulled off well. Lego does a crappy job with guns. Quote
hewkii9 Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Welcome to Eurobricks, Gunnar! By the way, what exactly do you mean? You want Subterranean to be a set? You wish you designed it? You think Miserix should resemble it? You are the designer, and you're trying to hype it? Cause the was you're saying it right now, it do seem a tad spammy. And a couple Miserix thoughts- Doesn't it seem a bit odd that several of us all imagine Miserix the same, personality-wise? It'd be a nice change from Greg's stark black-and-white lines to see a good Makuta. Because no matter which way you retcon it, it does seem odd that Mata Nui would create 100 super-powerful, jealous beings who wield an element that's classically associated with evil, and then name them as the pet-shopkeepers and breeders of the world. I hope that Miserix isn't too bulky. Tall, yes. Maybe four-armed, maybe Grievous-ish splitarms, and I really hope he wears an older Kanohi, like maybe a Pakari or Huna. Quote
Shine Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Gunnar's not a noob, he was being sarcastic. ;-) Quote
