Ikki o' Moopyville Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Denmark have not mountensBut NORWAY have mountens Phew, good, so YOU are the stocky ones. On-topic, I really like Mazeka -- and even more his vehicle -- thumbs up, guys at LEGO! -Ikk Quote
Tyranide Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 If Maxeka will be another $30 titan, I'll never buy this set. Sad... Oh, well. What do you think, guys, if I upload Final Countdown again, will it be deleted (again)? Judging by amount of videos with bad quality versions of it... Quote
Icesaber Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Really? I always assumed they'd be stockier than many other Matoran, as they tend to live in colder, mountainous regions. So, wider, stockier builds, a la Scandinavians and other colder, mountain-dwelling folks. I don't know...Maybe the body be well-armored, and the arms, but I've never thought of Ko-Koronans as bulky. I do look at some things in a weird perspective, so maybe that's it. Quote
VBBN Posted June 5, 2008 Author Posted June 5, 2008 Few pics(not sure if posted) And on a side note, what in heck is that matoran going to fly with? Not those hopefully... Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 And on a side note, what in heck is that matoran going to fly with? Not those hopefully...[/color] Is it sad that I'm able to read that bionicle text? Anyway, the wing stickers look like holdovers from Exo-Force. Quote
Wrinkledlion X Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Is it sad that I'm able to read that bionicle text?Anyway, the wing stickers look like holdovers from Exo-Force. Well, I can read it and I'm not sad... As is my understanding. Quote
Zee toa of sonics Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 I am also very fluent in matoran -zee :skull: Quote

Clonie Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 EDIT: I'm confused. Isn't it you who linked to BZ's image, not Hot Shot?-JINZO But he direct-linked it. Eh, who cares. Hm, I don't have anything relevant to say, except, Krika is teh sex. Quote
Visorak-kal Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Is it sad that I'm able to read that bionicle text?Anyway, the wing stickers look like holdovers from Exo-Force. No, no, no! Reading BIONICLE text is an art--it is nothing to be ashamed of! Two bits of news: 1. According to the BZP OFficial Set Topic, Shop@Home cache has uploaded pictures of the new summer sets, so hopefully they will be available for order or pre-order soon. 2. Just got Swamp of Secrets, and I would definitely recommend it. The style and story is so reminiscent of the early days IMO. Not only are the characters of Krika and Bitil great (Gorast is unusually bloodthirsty for a villain) but Onua completely owns and the three Nuva are super true to themselves. (In story at least, we all know about the sets.) Plus the flashbacks are a great look into early Mata history, which is cool. And as for that prototype pictures, I really like the way the Matoran armor works on Kopaka Nuva prototype from that angle. The rest of the prototype is blah, it must be really early, but I wish they had kept that 04 Matoran armor-Inika body combo, I think it is much more befitting Kopaka than the armor he ended up with. As for the Matoran--lousy. I am for the new Solek, 14 pieces and all. Although my preferred Matoran style to-date is 2007 style. VK VK Quote
Trexxen Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Well, TRU claims they might have Mistika today..I just called and they told me to call around 2pm, cause by then they'll have unpacked their new shipment. Good part? I spoke to the manager, and he said they have a package from LEGO that says BIONICLE on it.....Hopefully It's Mistika. The search begins? Hopefully he finds them; he said that if he does he's getting Tahu and Bitil at least ^.^ Keep your eyes peeled; most of the other summer sets are out and this is around the time last year that shaky reports came in, so...=D ~Trexxen Quote

But yeah, I agree - the prototypes can shove it. The matoran especially - it's just a lame rehash of the 2006 matoran - with no new advancements at all. BTW, something strange has happened: I've rethought my buying plans this year, and it's possible I may try to get every canister set and matoran, plus Vultraz, Ignika, Icarax and Takanuva. It would be a big sacrifice, and I would probably not get any Agents, Starwars, City, or Mars Mission. Also, if I did this, I'd totally revamp the Toa Mistika with new weapons, masks, jets and armor, and would give Icarax a proper arm instead of that gear function stub he has. What do you guys think - should I do it? Quote

How many chapters are here and in which one battle with 50 Bitils happens? Gonna get the book at the end of the month and REALLY wanna know this! What do you guys think - should I do it? I still prefer Chirox prototype. It's so... orkish. But if anybody can make Toa Mistika better... he must do it. For the sake of all humanity! Quote
Visorak-kal Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Um, actually, that's a Piraka body - not Inika body armor. So it is. To tell the truth, I just assumed it was an Inika body. BTW, something strange has happened: I've rethought my buying plans this year, and it's possible I may try to get every canister set and matoran, plus Vultraz, Ignika, Icarax and Takanuva. That wouldn't be a bad idea--I myself have plans for getting a lot of sets (5/6 Phantoka and 2/6 Mistika, plus most of the Titans and vehicles) but I am no genius when it comes to modification so I figured no amount of effort could save Gali. You might want to try it though. I have been thinking up ways to modify Kopaka Phantoka into a better version using mostly modern pieces and nothing that LEGO would never consider using. My first, easy step was to flip the Piraka legs that he uses as arms, which gives him a real neat "frosty" effect. So, it is perfectly possible to revamp them, though I haven't seen a reason to revamp the Makuta Phantoka yet. As for the Icarax arm, I'm positive there's a way to incorporate that gear and still have full poseability--I've just been afraid to take apart my arm for fear the brackets will snap. I've gotten paranoid since it started happening on my pre-2006 set as well as my post-2006 sets. I am wondering if it an overall bracket curse, cause I've heard it happening on 2008 set as well, despite the new brackets. I still prefer Chirox prototype. It's so... orkish. But if anybody can make Toa Mistika better... he must do it. For the sake of all humanity! First step for saving humanity--save Gali's face! Make her at least partly feminine! How many chapters are here and in which one battle with 50 Bitils happens? Gonna get the book at the end of the month and REALLY wanna know this! Interestingly, there are only five or six actual Chapters, the book is split between Chapters and Interludes. There are five chapters and five interludes, I think, with a prologue and epilogue featuring Takanuva. The Interludes are the flashbacks of the Toa Nuva, while the Chapters are in the present. The 50 Bitils appear in Chapter 2. Onua takes 'em on--he is easily the coolest Toa in the book, the way he uses the power of Earth is near Titan-like. VK Quote

Never thought that there will be such division between chapters. That's even cooler than I thought, then)) Can't wait to get this book. And for that holy day when Amazon will make first comic collection available. Also, I bought Terrain Crawler yesterday. All I can say - he turned out to be WAY better than I thought. And I just thought that this vehicle is just "good". Now I only must wait til Mistika come out. It will be this August for me, instead of September, as usual... Quote
Wrinkledlion X Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Onua was so incredibly cool in that book. How many Toa can claim to have picked up a friggin' Makuta and slammed them into the ground? Quote
Zarkan Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 As for the Icarax arm, I'm positive there's a way to incorporate that gear and still have full poseability--I've just been afraid to take apart my arm for fear the brackets will snap. I am wondering if it an overall bracket curse, cause I've heard it happening on 2008 set as well, despite the new brackets. Yeah, I think I already have an idea how to do it - I think what I might do is make the gear shield be more handheld, and attached in a different way to the new arm I'd give him. Also, while the curse may just have been on the brackets pre-2008, this year every kind of mold using the click joints has a potential to break. Quote
Phantoka_Chirox Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I just know those pictures are going to make all tje mistika haters like them (maybe) PS: wow BZP news got here early =D Quote

Tohst Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Hi, I'm Tohst and I'm a Toa Mistika hater. The new pictures don't help :-) It is interesting that their blasters are now Green Lantern rings. Probably the fist Toa ever I won't buy (unless I see the deep deep discount) -Tohst Quote
