i know that i was saying why couldnt YOU do it

anyway why cnat tlc do it? cause there lazy the have become EA

Hell NO. EA now trying to create new titles! Look at Dead Space and Tiberium, for example. They've already realized that cloning of old, good stuff isn't good thing.

So Pencoin I think it was. You're right. Its all about rebuilding them to something I like. But I don't think I need these new sets to do that.

Right on a few different levels.

--Lego makes sets "incomplete", requiring people to buy more sets until they look "right".

--You don't need the parts in the Mistika AT ALL to make good versions of the old characters.

Seriously, these new pics might sway their kiddy demographic groups, but most of us, here, ...no way. They still look terrible and wonky.

And Bitil and the yellow guy still look like cool parts packs, requiring multiple purchases. :classic:

But...but...but...Bitil IS the yellow guy! ;_;

=P

TBH, I think I'll pass on all of the canister sets that aren't Krika and Onua. (MAYBE Tahu for that sweet mask, and Bitil because YELLOW.) The big sets, though, with the exception of Vultraz, are ALL must-haves. And I will have them...but a concert is now taking up a chunk of my money, as well; so I think it'll have to come out of my Bionicle this year. And I'm not even that sad...

i was thinking a good mod for onua would be a pick axe that he could attach to his back and use as a jet pack

crazy? good its better then TLC

Often I agree with the first, but sometimes you've gotta be careful when saying things like that. When you rise in experience as a MOC'er, the actual sets look plain simiplistic very quickly in comparison. However, it hardly means that all bionicle sets are incomplete. Sets like Jaller Mahri, Antroz, and others may not be titan sized in terms of piece counts or complexity, but they still look cool. :classic:

On the other hand, the Toa Mistika are incomplete in nearly every way. Their designs are rehashed, the proportions are weird, and the features like masks and weapons are ugly. TLC has shown that they can make good canister sets - I just wish they were more consistent.

Speaking of incomplete, here's some written plans that I've made for fixing up some of the sets I'll be getting eventually:

Tahu Mistika – Tahu actually doesn’t need nearly as much customization as the other Toa Mistika – he’s easily the best of the bunch. The main thing he needs is a new weapon – and I’ll make him a nice flamesword using parts of his spinning shield-thing and one of the new multicolored Tahu Olda flameswords. I may also give him some frontal armor, although I’m not quite sure how I’ll do it. The rest will stay as it is – since his mask, limbs and jets look okay.

Onua Mistika – Onua easily is the worst of the Mistika, and needs serious customization. First, the mask must go. I have a loose Onua Nuva mask from 2002 that will replace the ugly mask of shadows that he has on right now. I’ll also give him a new weapon for his right hand – probably a claw of some kind – and I may get rid of the takanuva armor shield. The most difficult fix will probably be giving him some bulkier armor – he’s skinnier than Gali, for crying out loud! I’ll probably use some pieces from my Whenua Hordika, which will be removed from display along with the other Hordika. Oh, and the jets – I’ll make those better too.

Gali Mistika – Gali also needs heavy customization, although not as much as Onua. The Krekka mask will go first of course, replaced with a Kaukau from my 2003 Hahli matoran (sorry Hahli). I’ll give her some kind of weapon – maybe a large hook or axe – and will make the jets better. One possible idea I’ve been considering is to switch Onua’s limbs with Gali’s, giving the needed bulk to Onua and making Gali more slender. From what I see in the pictures, that will work very nicely.

Icarax – The spinning shield arm stub must go! Yes, Icarax will have a proper right arm, taken from my Vakama Hordika. I may also see if I can give him some bulk in the lower body area – the Tridax pod looks weird paired up with his waist joints. The upper arms could use some beefing up as well.

I dunno, though they may be disproportioned... perhaps that's what Bionicle beings are supposed to look like. That's the trend that they seem to continue. Even the original Toa were disproportioned in their own ways, so perhaps these beings are not supposed to be humanesque. Hell, were they ever?

I think they are bad representations of the Toa Nuva. As sets, they are not that bad. I'll buy Tahu, Gali, Bitil, and Gorast, because I'm SICK of the magazines posing him the wrong way. He has triple-jointed legs! UTILIZE THEM ALREADY!

Ahem...Gorast is a girl.

I'll probably buy all the Mistika sets. I have ideas to revamp the 3 Toa while keeping their masks, colour schemes and weapons (except Gali who will receive a Faxon and a new weapon- still undecided about Tahu's new weapon). On the Makuta..Krika needs no mods. I still have no idea about Gorast and Bitil, my main goal is making them bigger..they're so puny right now.

i was giving gali a normal nuva mask. a good weapon for a tahu is a bfs (big f**king sword)

for gali i think a good weapon is something stearmlined and graceful (did i just type that?) so a kantana like sword or a axe like thing is good, but in contrast a smalled dagger type thng with a blaster weapon would be good aswell (just be sure to do a holder on the back  )

for onua im making a giant pickaxe type thing (using his mata body and 2 jaller swords :skull: )

i dont think im going to touch onuas body to much but his limbs are getting beefed up (and he's getting his ol nuva mask back)

When I'll get Tahu, I'll be going to give him more red pieces. For Krika, I may change his legs and arms. Bitil needs more armor and I'll replace Gorast's gray Inika body piece by a black one. Onua don't need a lot of mods and I don't know if I am going to buy Gali or not. For the Titans, Takanuva and the T-Vehicles won't be changed but I'll be going to modify Mazeka, his vehicle and Vultraz's Skyfighter. As of now, I don't know which Mistika to buy first.

Point taken. And yeah, the Mistika are exactly the ones that spring to mind first.

Hmm... no more MataNui Landmass leaks yet?

You'd think there'd be some more loose lips, after the first slip up.

Not for my knowledge. And if I don't know about it, that means nothing serious happened. I think we just nned to wait till July 1st. Maybe, with Mistika site update we'll learn something.

No, and many think its because TLC aparrently stepped up the security to keep something like this from happening again. OR SO THEY SAY...

I notice BZ and another site or two have a big "DON'T megablocking EVEN THINK ABOUT THAT SPOILER!" banners plastered across the top of the screen.

That's like saying, "Hey kids, you know you have to go and search the net for this shit, right? We're telling you it's out there lol!!!111".

Wouldn't a more... effective way of crushing the leak for Lego be to not mention it at all?

I thought this might be an actual leak at first, but I'm getting that paranoid, something smells funny feeling again.

Haha thats exactly what i have been thinking the last month

just take it down bzp or are you gonna hunt down lil kids around the world and have a lego rep spank them retarded(too late)

umm.. that came out wrong at the endd... :look::oh::oh3::sceptic:

I definitely have to agree with you there, BZP can be pretty stupid sometimes. And yet, strangely, I go there every day. Odd. Anyways, you're right. crushing the leak is better just to pretend you're letting it alone, but in truth, you can hunt it down and try to eliminate as many possible one's you can without letting anyone know about it.

I'm starting to get that feeling too, in fact, I had it from the beginning. Who leaks videos, anyways? It was a weird, retarded video, and they even messed up in a lot of places, ex. they switched Pohatu's and Onua's powers.

But yes, this vid is definitely haunted.... no there's just something wrong with it. But I doubt that we'll ever hear anything else about it in the near future from TLC. *shrugs*

Actualy, I don't think that that was BZP's intent at all with that banner. I think the moderators and TLC realize that they will never totally crush the leak, since the internet has so many ways to spread it. I think BZP's just trying to say "don't discuss it here" not "it doesn't exist," as too many people know about it for it to just dissapear.

I don't see what's wrong with the armor - it looks very close to the normal dark grey in real life. The arms seem okay too, and the mask is really good, IMO. It's not nearly as Great Matatu as you'd think - a lot more like the original Akaku Nuva with a more streamlined look. As for the other two suggestion, I agree on those, but I don't have the Nuva shield, and I'm not taking apart my Nuju just for the eyes.

I think Kopaka Nuva in general seems to be bashed a lot more than he really should be. Sure, he's not perfect, but he's far better than all three of the Mistika Nuva combined, and at least he looks like Kopaka in some ways. :sceptic:

Gunmetal is wrong because it was never on Kopaka, it's the only gunmetal so it stands out, and silver would be a better choice. The arms are the exact same length as his legs -- a big no. Makes them apelike, if that's a word. I have the Akaku Phantoka, and I think it would be a lot better if they lost the vents on the bottom (something remniscient of the great Ruru, which isn't good), switched the scope (left scope = Nuju), and replaced the lightsaber bar with a stud. Of course, I'd want more changes, like getting rid of the beard, and making the left eye shaped more like the Akaku Mata, but those are the three main priorites I want.

Tahu -- Mecha jet placement = fail for Tahu. Again, fix the arms, and ditch the claws on his legs. Needs some ORANGE, and if possible, Mata red. Also, needs either painted Lhikan's Hau or original Hau Mata (NOT Nuva). Flameswords = win. Ditch the silly blaster.

Onua -- Get rid of the pauldron. Doesn't work. Needs a hunch. No more red (where did TLC get that crazy idea?!). Original Mata claws or, at least Nuparu Inika claws. Needs proportionate arms and Vahki shins. Keep the black and dark bley. The Mistika jets fail on him.

Gali -- Hook or spear sounds good. Jets, I think would look better on shins like Onua. Keep the Inika shins, they look good and fit on her. She needs medium blue and Mata blue. Fix arms, make body better.

Just throwing out suggestions. :classic:

Well, honestly, I disagree with a lot of these suggestions. Firstly, I may have never said this before, but I think that the new blue, red, and green are far better than the originals. The old ones were too bright and kiddy for epic heroes, although they were great fir the time. Secondly, I stll don't see what's so monkey legs about the Inika proportions. Sure, they may not be realistic, but they look far better than the punyness of the original toa, IMO.

The main problem here is that I'm not actually trying to completely design a new set of toa. I'm just working on modifying the actual sets without straying extremely far from the designs. All the changes here would be good if you wanted to just make a new version of the old sets. What I'm trying to do is to make a better version of the new sets, so many of these changes won't really work.

But hey, if you have all these ideas, why don't you try to revamp the new toa Nuva? I'm sure you'd do just as good a job as me - probably better, since you''d be going for a full overhaul, not just modifications.
