MacKaiwer Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Nice work indeed So real lookin' and huge, hey 10 kg, that's pretty impressive! I like your building style very much and it's always nice bonus when you can do something that attracts girls and puppies This one goes also to my short list for voting Quote
A Gallifreyan Cat Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Wow. I had to look really hard at this to notice that it was indeed LEGO, and not a die-cast model. Unbelievable realism there! Quote
Skandinavc FH Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 That is really impressive model! A bit too big for my taste but still a jawbreaker. Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Great work Milan . I hope that i can make one time in my life a ship in the same scale as your Liebherr. Quote
Kristof Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Spectacular result Milan! It looks even better than I expected. I wish you best luck in the contest but hey I think that hving built such thing is worth much more than some contest victory :D Anyway, I'm wondering how the real performance looks like, without speed variations in the video. Also I wish you go ahead and work up that advanced boom - that's the only part I'm not blown away with - the exhibited extension is somehow short (that swing jib helps but still). Also I can't say from the video whether these outtrigers actually lift the crane. Lastly, one big remark to make - I no longer have obligation against these wheels. They look perfect on the completed crane! :) Quote
Milan Posted November 4, 2015 Author Posted November 4, 2015 Great looking entry, definitely a unique crane. I am intrigued by the mechanisms you used to have the different steering modes as well as the actuator to raise the boom. Also curious about the structure of the two stage boom. Any chance we could see some close up pictures of these components? Tim Thanks TIm! I tried to use the simplest and most efficient mechanisms, since i don't have so many motors. So, for the steering I just used 2 Servo motors, one for the front axle, and one for the rear two axles. They are connected directly to steering racks. I will try to post details about actuator once i finish the full review. Nice work indeed So real lookin' and huge, hey 10 kg, that's pretty impressive! I appreciate your following of this build! Wow. I had to look really hard at this to notice that it was indeed LEGO, and not a die-cast model. Unbelievable realism there! Realism was one the main goals here, together with the functionality. Thanks! That is really impressive model! A bit too big for my taste but still a jawbreaker. Thanks! My favorite scales are 1:13 and popular 1:16, so next one will be smaller! Great work Milan . I hope that i can make one time in my life a ship in the same scale as your Liebherr. Thanks, Edwin! Advance boom proved to work, but unfortunately not enough time and parts to implement it on time. Great about the wheels! And YES, outriggers can lift and hold the crane when it is operating! greatest non-real crane ever! :-) Thanks, man! Quote
jorgeopesi Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 With pics I thought no... the video changed my mind but I still hate the wheels... Quote
Kristof Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 ^you thought 'no'? And you'r sure you ehm... hate them? :/ Some comments make me thinks their authors must be weird. Quote

Kristof Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 ^Alright. Though you may consider being more specific next time - Not only you'd make your opinion more comprehensive and valuable for the others but also prevent clashes and misunderstandings like this one :) Quote
