Alpinemaps Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Supported! I love the SW Microfighters. These remind me of those, with just as much love. Quote
MECHALEX Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 Over 300 supporters in 3 days. Nice! Wow! I'm thrilled it's doing well. All the most successful ones relied on more than just word-of-mouth so I need to have a think about some ways of publicising it. Quote
anothergol Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 (edited) Wow! I'm thrilled it's doing well. All the most successful ones relied on more than just word-of-mouth so I need to have a think about some ways of publicising it. here's my little recent small & short experience trying to do that, for my AT-ST here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/112665 I've made it appear here, on MOCPages, Rebrickable (but then you need to make it buildable), and on Reddit. MOCPages & Rebrickable hardly brought views, however, Reddit brought a big lot, and it was around 6000 - pretty much like for you, while it lasted. (sadly for me I didn't know that Reddit would take an image straight from Lego Ideas and it's my MOCPage that took the hits) So I'd advise Reddit for any project that you're proud of, even though it only works once & for a short time. But yeah, impossible to get 10k votes when you don't even get 10k views, and I'm pretty sure that this is impossible without being blogged by a few big ones. Pretty sure that appearing on Gizmodo would make any project voted, but that's something you can only hope for. But a cute set based on nostalgia, I can imagine that on the few popular Lego blogs, especially when several are instantly recognizable for a 40 like me. What I haven't tried yet: flickr www.repubrick.com rebrick.lego.com (dead before born? weird, it was working 2 days ago) You've put it in your signature, good idea. KlodsBrik Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Cute classic space builds here. Job well done ! Quote
Junior Shark Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Mmmm off to vote on a certain Ideas project.... Quote
stigge72 Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Cute, just the right amount of chibi! I never had any of these, but I remember having some of them high on my wishlist. Quote
MECHALEX Posted November 17, 2015 Author Posted November 17, 2015 Cute classic space builds here. Job well done ! Mmmm off to vote on a certain Ideas project.... Yes please. Cute, just the right amount of chibi! I never had any of these, but I remember having some of them high on my wishlist. Thanks for the support! I'm working on a little animation to go with these and see if I can get some more support, in the meantime, please spread the word. I feel odd promoting it, as it started out as just a fun project, but like Stigge72, I never had all of these sets and it may turn out to be a cheaper way to get them. At any rate, I'll put up the LDD files at some point to help share the love! Quote
neonic Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Looks great Some of them I recognize right away.... it's a bit of youth sentiment Quote
Brick Capone Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 What an AMAZING idea!! They look great, and remind me of all those sets and SW Microfighters, only smaller! Quote
Aliencat Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 These are really awesome! Each of them is instantly recognizable and really well made! Quote
anothergol Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I haven't seen your set on flickr btw, that would be a good place to make it more known (in the lego & lego sci fi groups) Quote
Fuppylodders Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 I think these are really cute! Soon as i get home from work, ill be supporting these. Have you thought about contacting Brick, the magazine? I think that may definitely be worth a shot. Also, while not exactly difficult to reverse build, id hold onto the ldd files for now. Let the project build up steam. I could easily be wrong, but my reasoning is youd be taking away reason for people to vote for it if they can readily make them theirselves... Quote

I could easily be wrong, but my reasoning is youd be taking away reason for people to vote for it if they can readily make them theirselves... Those are really good points, thanks Fuppylodders. I've got several updates to make to the submission (improved Battrax and Solar Power Transporter) and then will approach Bricks and Blocks and see if they're interested. I'm also partway through a painstaking stop-motion film to help spread the word. Just waiting for a flexible arm so I can make the ships fly! Quote
anothergol Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 That's odd, I did post them on Flickr, what's the best way to bring it to the attention of the groups you suggest? weird, have you tagged your pictures? I'm only on flickr since recently, so I may just have missed them. But a search doesn't find them. I was only suggesting posting pics in "Lego Sci-fi", "Lego" and "Lego builders". Quote
MECHALEX Posted August 19, 2016 Author Posted August 19, 2016 (edited) Thanks everyone for the initial burst of support. It was rocketing along and then sort of plateaued. Real life got in the way for a while but I've finally finished the accompanying animation which takes the form of some comedy sketches. I hope you like! Let's see if this can bump things up to 1000 supporters (just 193 to go) and see if that earns me another 6 months to make 10k! Edited August 19, 2016 by MECHALEX Quote
anothergol Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 (edited) Pretty nice. You should be able to get 200 more votes easily. I would have added reverb, on the plugs. And/or music, as it's well edited & catchy, but not as much as it could be. Edited August 19, 2016 by anothergol Quote
danth Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Everything about this is the amazing. This project deserves way more support. Quote

Spac3Man Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Wow these are amazing indeed!! Love it!! Quote
jamzee Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Totally adorable, superb, exquisite and essential, such great work!! Would so love to have these and more, keep up the good work! This seems like a home run for TLG if we can get it on Ideas - so far beyond one of the upcoming ideas sets ‘the friends cafe’ or something - no no no, this is so, so much more wonderful beyond time and space itself! MECHALEX Posted May 2, 2019 Author Posted May 2, 2019 (edited) Sorry it took so long, and thank you to DragonM for the reminder! Here's a link to my blog entry about the Micro Space Classics. Skip to the end for the LDD file! Thanks again for your kind words and support. I used new grey throughout except for the Solar Power Transporter whose tailfins required the use of old grey. If anyone feels like improving them, they're most welcome to and I'd love to see what they do with it! On 2/18/2019 at 8:13 PM, DragonM said: Still hopping for LDD/LDraw file.
