I saw all the photos but until I saw the ship up close in person at the Star Wars LEGOLand weekend earlier this summer, I was shocked!

Strange but true. To face that beauty in person

I guess now is a good time to talk about parts quality. For the most part, I have not had any issues. However, I do see a lot of the molding issues that I

I really like this review, as it follows through the build, rather than just showing pics of the final model where you can't really take all the detail in at once. This is great, keep up the good work!

Thanks for all the positive feedback. I'm really enjoying this. I'm bummed that I have to head out on my business trip tomorrow as I'm really making progress on it. Anyway, short update tonight as I had to get ready for my trip.

Fantastic! I love all the details in this. That's a lot of dark bley cones! (Referring to the bag) I love the maintenance bays, and the quad cannons, which I didn't mention before. They're simple but really nice looking. Keep it up! Hope your not constantly thinking about your precious Falcon on your trip! :-P

This is really looking great! *wub*

It is amazing all the different details you can see when it is reviewed like this, rather than just a couple of pics of the finished product.

Thanks so much, keep up the great effort! *y*

Thanks for this next update! Again, I love all the detail in this. You're right, the dark red against dark and light bley looks great. *wub* The cockpit is great, sucks about the sticker though. :-( Oh well, it still looks great, keep up the great work, and be glad there's no more stickers! :-P

Has anyone else noticed in the overhead shot of the completed set(found elsewhere) that a section of the Falcon is left open? It's on starboard side, frontal area, right behind the starboard 'arm'. I think that's where Han was yelling at Chewie thusly:

NO! NO! NO! THIS one goes there, THAT one goes there.

It's so nice to see Lego bringing parts of the movie into the real set. :'-)

It strikes me that this set, once built, is going to be a nightmare to more and store - one tiny false move and any one of those tiny greebles on the hull could fall off - and you're gonna have a devil of a time working out which one and where it goes!

I'm still jealous though... *wub*

Beautiful review, Dunamis --

There's no way in >:-) >:-) >:-) my wife would let me buy one of these, so reviews like this are the closest I'm gonna come to the real build. Looks like you're having a great time. I love seeing all of the little details you usually only get by building it yourself.

Thanks for all the time you're putting into this for us.

Yes, that has already happened a couple of times. However, I did kind of rearrange my desk in anticipation of where to put the Falcon. I didn't leave enough room to store and build it on my desk, so it has been a logistical challenge.

great. looking forward to seeing if you have the same leftover parts as i have. :-D

as for the relocation nightmare, i guess that's why they went for sturdy design over having an interior. :-P i can see the light now. to lift it was quite the challenge. i should measure it one day but i guess it's 20+ lbs. since it's so bulky, it's kinda awkward to hold it. if it's small and heavy like a dumbell, it wouldn't be an issue, but it's bulky, fragile at the edges (from the greeblies). so far mine's still on the floor. :-P gotta move it to the shelves and cover it. :-P

Thanks for such an awesome review, I can't wait to get mine (although I have to wait until about this time next year... 8-| ).

The detail is amazing, and all your pictures have been an amazing insight! *sweet* (did I use the word amazing twice in one sentence?! X-O :-P )

Round of applause everyone! *y* *y* (queue annoying fan girls and confetti) :-D

hmmm, what you have left overs don't exactly match mine. i don't have a 2x3 brick, or that many 2x2 tiles (only 2 dark bley). and no wrong plates issue, just missing a 1x1x2/3 cheese tile.

what is your set number? I built my #785 set. like to see if the error is somehow related to a particular sequence.
