Posted October 1, 20159 yr Hi, here is my next MOC project. I have to show this small version only cause the process of activation my account. I think, thanks to this complicated process the forum will be full of incomplete presentation and full of wasting posts... Sorry, but I can't understand... :-) What's more I can't place my picture!!! :-DDDD FUN! OK, more waste on forum - JUST FOR ACTIVATION!!! ??? Dude...
October 1, 20159 yr Attaching pictures are not a good idea. You should use a picture hoster like Flickr or similar
October 1, 20159 yr As efferman says. It is not due to being a new member. If you look at other posts, you will see that the pictures are never hosted at eurobricks. Just put them at e.g. brickshelf and add them in your post with the Image button using the brickshelf url.
October 1, 20159 yr Author OK, Thanks for advice. OK, I though it's possible to have here some gallery and make it directly... Hmm, I see I'm too dumb for this net world maybe... :-) OK, here are some pictures of this project: http://1filip.rajce....RIAL_PROTOTYPE/ and manual: http://1filip.rajce....OTYPE_-_manual/ and video:

October 1, 20159 yr Author Not bad... but when you make it as Trial Truck you should to avoid of differentials... what you do if one wheel on axis is in the air? You lost traction... Very nice quality pictures you made... ;) Max... Thanks a lot Max, I had bad day today, I was so angry on this forum, just because I didn't understand how to do all the things... :-/ OK, Yes, the diffs are now opened, just because it's not on any contest and it has quite big axle cross index so it can work well anyhow. But Yes if it will be provided on some races is no problem to close the diffs or remove them completely out... ...and sorry for my today's madness here...
October 1, 20159 yr Not bad... but when you make it as Trial Truck you should to avoid of differentials... what you do if one wheel on axis is in the air? You lost traction... Wrong, There is something called "torsen" differential! Just saying... Anyway not keen on the color scheme bu looks good overall. Isn't the cabin out of proportions?
October 1, 20159 yr Author Wrong, There is something called "torsen" differential! Just saying... Anyway not keen on the color scheme bu looks good overall. Isn't the cabin out of proportions? Thanks, yes, could be also in another color. Yellow is quite common in Lego... But in those days I didn't have other then yellow necessary parts, and the yellow rims inspired me also for yellow colour will be good... All this model was developed more for testing that unique suspension system than for real look... The cab is just idea and improvisation as whole truck, not any in reality, I think...
October 2, 20159 yr Wrong, There is something called "torsen" differential! Just saying... Anyway not keen on the color scheme bu looks good overall. Isn't the cabin out of proportions? Wrong. You mean locking diffs. A torsen works by taking the torque on one wheel and multiplying it to the other wheel , but they don't work when one is off the ground because i.e. 0x5 is zero. There's a good article on howstuffworks about different kinds of diffs-in case anyone wants to read it Edited October 2, 20159 yr by Kman860

The torsen has that nature of becoming "locked" by itself when one of the wheel lose traction! This happens because there is a spur gear attached to the each warm gear, and the 2 spur gear make sure the diff it's "locked". all this is based on a very simple concept: a warm gear can sping a spur gear, but a spur gear doesn't spin a warm one!
October 2, 20159 yr Author CZ: Příprava na LTTT? EN: Preparation for LTTT? :-) (I will rather to speak English - the official language here) No, I made this truck just for fun, I made there such special suspension system, which needed to test... It works, but who knows, how it would work somewhere in natural terrain. Btw. For many years I had made many own full RC truck trial prototypes, and raced them in Czech rep... But it's not Lego thema...
October 2, 20159 yr About Torsen: there are more versions of Torsen... Each got a little bit other features... But the common feature is that if one wheel looses grip, the torque will be not be transfered to other wheel with grip and rotates as insane and the vehicle stays not moving on place... It happens when the grip is zero (one wheel in the air) or grip is close to zero (one wheel on ice)... That's the reason why Torsen was in latest generations used in combination with electronics, which per ABS sensors detected spinning wheel and brakes it a litte bit to make the whole system working... Otherwise would Audi not move from place... Because of this negative features Audi uses in it's latest models not Torsen (it's a product of US company) but crown middle differential... It got better features than Torsen A, B or C... I made test with my Audi when one wheel/ one side was on ice... OK in this case the Torsen is in the middle and on axles are open differentials, but it's a good example that the Torsen system is not ideal... Because it's middle differential better test is when the wheels of one axle got no grip: Here link to my blog in german about AWD systems and Torsen: http://www.motor-talk.de/blogs/autos-technik/quattro-xdrive-4matic-t3030917.html Max... October 2, 20159 yr Max, please! The nature of the torsen is that "naturally auto-lock" itself when one of the wheel is on the air/low grip Your car has a rear and front open diff, that's why the left wheels spins! The reason why they spin together it's given by the middl diff that is a torsen!!!! So you answered yourself, but you didn't get your own answer LOL
October 2, 20159 yr I think you guys derailed quite a bit :) Filip made a truly innovative and powerful Trial Truck and this is all we should talk about in this post. Or am I wrong?
October 2, 20159 yr Author I think you guys derailed quite a bit :) Filip made a truly innovative and powerful Trial Truck and this is all we should talk about in this post. Or am I wrong? :-D It's OK for me, I made here yesterday such rubbish, that this is totally OK... :-D
October 2, 20159 yr TheItalianBrick, a lot of your reactions in this forum are to excessive... Please be kind to people and do not attack people... To my posting... as I have written, first video is just as addition... important is second video... Here is Lego example with torsen diff and with one wheel in the air... Watch the whole interesting video or just jump to TEST #5 in 1:20... So Torsen DOES NOT LOCK if one wheel is in the air (grip = 0 or grip near zero)... Zero multiplied by something is always ZERO... Zero torque multiplied by the torque bias ratio is still ZERO... Max... Edited October 2, 20159 yr by MaxSupercars
