SirNadroj Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 (But it's more practical if everyone speaks english, so as we can undestand each other...) Ay, si, si senor! Tienes mucho razon! Translation (I hope!): Yes, yes, Mr.! You are very right! ;-) Quote
Aredhel Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 I DO understand french, but cannot really say anything. School time's too long ago, and I only had lessons for 2 years. My spanish could be better when I would write more, I had some kind of intense lessons for 3 years at school, but thats 4 years ago now! So the only thing for me seems to be english :-P -Aredhel Quote

captaintau Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 I'm off holidaying near the Pyrenees next week (if I can get my magablocking passport sorted). I've been practicing my French, of which a surprising quantity from my GCSE has come back to me. Let's try: Je suis une infirmiere. Je vais Jujitsu. J'adore LEGO! Sil vous plait excuse mon ami, pour il est un idiot (we'll be using this lots, I'm sure) Je voudrez un portion grand de ca-va-ton-pere!!! Please excuse my lack of proper French characters (like the tail underneath the c in "Ca Va") Vin blanc, monsieur, sil vous plait. Merci. Je m'appelle Pete! Pardonez moi, madame. Vous parlez Anglais, sil vous plait? Je parle un peu de Francais. Je suis malade! Il est retard! Combien, sil vous plait? Can anyone please remind me on the meanings of "est-ce que" and "q'est-ce que" and how to negate something. Je ne comprend pas. Is that right? Quote
Khorne Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 I don't even know when to use savoir and when to use pouvoir to express 'being able to'If any of the French speaking members could explain please? :'-( Doesn't 'Savoir' mean 'to know' :-/ ? Quote
