Doesn't 'Savoir' mean 'to know' :-/ ?

Well yes, but my teachers always said that savoir can also be used to say 'can or be able to' though there's a difference between the two.

Either one was to say I can't cause I had an accident for example while the other one was simply I can't cause I suck at it, However I do not remember which was which! :-/

One to express a disability of which you yourself is the cause while the other one is to be used when there's an external cause.

:-D Hmm.... While trying to explain this I think my teachers have been playing tricks on me, this sounds so stupid when you come to think of it, but then again I was never too good at French so it might just be me screwing up X-D

well, you can use "savoir" to say "I can" when you're capable of doing something because you know how to do it.

and "pouvoir" is more often used when you have a permission (being from a rule, law or a metaphysical one) to do what you're about to do.

hope that helps... But then again, since french is my mother language, I have a terrible knowledge of its grammatical rules, so I might be completely off track... But it feels right to me :-P
