Also, having just watched some of the more recent shield videos, I'm rather amused that Ava has had to deal with Merlok's interface screwing up so often that she's just wired some form of reboot directly to a button. I've really been enjoying this series a lot more than other LEGO media recently.

I particularly liked that Nexo Power video since to me Ava sending a Nexo Power herself sort of reinforces that her future might be as an apprentice to Merlok. :)

Let's just establish it now that Ava is one of the best, if not the best character in this show. She's hilarious and adorable. Most scenes with her in it are always entertaining. I wish, though, that I felt the same with Robin, as the whole...

I think Robin's got a lot more in common with Nya than with Lloyd. If Ava's the team's top programmer, Robin's the team's top engineer. I haven't seen a single thing pointing towards him having any sort of chosen one or team leader role in the future.

Robin's role as the pilot of the Black Knight mech directly parallels Nya's role as Samurai X, in that he's a seemingly minor member of the team who secretly uses his tech skills to fight the enemy independently from the rest of the group, before his secret identity gets revealed and he begins to openly fight alongside the rest of the team.

If Ava does in fact end up becoming Merlok's apprentice/successor, than I think she's the team member who would be the closer analogue to Lloyd. Being the student of the last remaining wizard in the realm feels a lot more chosen one-ish than just being an expert at building machines, particularly since it was Merlok's wizardry that actually defeated Monstrux when he threatened Knighton long ago.

Agreed that it should have taken at least one more episode for the Black Knight business to be revealed.

What I really like about Ava is the fact that whenever technobabble happens, it has some basis in real life jargon. It's minimal, but it's still miles ahead of most other sci-fi based series. Plus, that little "Great, now I'm making puns too. I've got to get out of here." line just sounds utterly perfect. Sounds almost like the sort of joke that'd be made in the Artemis Fowl books.

I also like how Search and Rescue shows that all of the elements of Jestro's castle incorporated in the set are actually canon. Normally, these details would be glossed over and only the general concept would be used, but here we've got the dropping bridge, the weird spiky jester horn decorations, the saw blade, Macy's vehicle... It's really nice to see.

Don't know if any of you have done yourself the favor of listening to the new song produced for Nexo Knights,

.

I really like the song, and I'm looking forward to more music like it during the theme's run.

Not sure if anyone's aware of this, but Cartoon Network UK has released segments of the first three episodes of Season 2.

Have they now? Well I'm honestly quite surprised at this. You'd think they give us brits the whole episode. Plus I've been waiting for the new episodes in ages now.

I think the German lego website had them all online? The Dutch has the first five of season 2. But that's only if you want to see the vehicles or the nexo powers, because it's not in English :sweet:

Using the CN app to watch the new episodes and I'm loving it so far. The "Books of Magic" is over an hour long, so I'm still making my way through it. It genuinely made me grin and chuckle a few times, something the show did pretty infrequently in the past. Here, I felt like I was laughing almost every few minutes! The self-referential humor was on point, especially with Robin's intro to Knight's Academy video... :)

I like it too! The video was really awesome as well! Sorry Fold - their video is cooler than most of your Ninjago ones!

Speaking of music, did season one's song ever get released? I don't recall so...

Someone on tumblr shared the first few season 2 episodes again. I think it's the same person as last time, actually.

If you want them without having to search through tumblr, just send me a PM .

Anyway, I'm really liking what I've seen of season 2 so far, and I hope that further seasons are just as good (and are as long. Ninjago kind of dropped the ball there, with the one season used for each plot decreasing in length every time, rather than the season 1: introduce the characters, season 2: expand on them setup Nexo Knights seems to be going for.)

Brilliant, thanks. I'll send a PM to you in just a few moments.

The ending to the third episode

I was hoping that with the book of monsters being left behind. That the knights would capture it and force Jestro to use his remaining monsters to rescue it

Someone decided to post spoilers for the last episode of the second season. So, based on that, here are my conclusions.

Predictably, the Book of Monsters betrays Jestro. However, we know Jestro will be around next season because of the leaked set names, and he will have monsters with him. My guess is that, while the Book of Monsters is defeated, Jestro escapes and manages to absorb the monster-summoning power of said book. In this scenario, the reason the monsters for winter 2017 are rock monsters, which are kind of a downgrade compared to lava monsters, is because he won't have full control over his power yet, with the lava monsters potentially making a comeback in summer 2017 (and, hopefully allowing us to get an in-show depiction of the forest and water monsters, but the chances of that are vanishingly small).

I'll just save up a bunch of episodes, then watch it all.

I'm wondering, does the second season have anything new, or is it just a continuation or based off the summer sets?

Just saw it - it wasn't big on plot, but was great for comedy - without going into too many details, it introduces "Jousting Beiber," "Brickney Spears," "The Blok," and yes, you heard it, "Shia LaBlade," a team of rival knights who supposedly conquered Jestro's army and seized the book of envy. A tournament is held, which is pretty much the whole episode. It certainly got quite a lot of laughs from me, even though not much really happened...
