Lyichir Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 You seriously like that character? Those two guys were my least favorite parts of the episodes. I'd use the Friends hair that looks like that, I dunno if it's come in blonde yet though. I also loved the newscasters! They're hilarious, bubbly, and were a great way to frame the character introductions in the first episode. I would love to get them in sets, but I agree it's unlikely. Maybe I should put a custom together myself... Quote

I can totally see her substituting as Macy's squirebot to get an exclusive insight into the Knights' life, possibly being captured by Jestro in the process. I looked at the available Friends hairpieces but could not find anything, blonde or otherwise. Maybe I will just use another hairstyle in the right color, changing her hair regularly seems like something Alice would do anyway. This might work, for example. Quote
Mandate Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 (edited) To be honest I thought the reporters were the most obnoxious attempts at an ironic news reporter parody LEGO has ever done (which isn't saying much, since LEGO hasn't done very many). The pink one just seemed very sub-standard attempt at recreating Daniella Capricorn from Hero Factory, who was actually a great side-character. Edited January 8, 2016 by Mandate Quote

As far as I'm concerned, Alice is a much better and more likable character than Daniella Capricorn, who was a much more generic sort of newscaster with an unpleasant attitude. Alice, on the other hand, is bubbly, manic, and ridiculously corny—like a morning show or celebrity news reporter, but taken up to eleven. I guess it partly boils down to if you like silly characters in Lego shows, but personally if I wanted to watch a cartoon without that sort of humor then there are a lot of better shows I could be watching than the generally mediocre Hero Factory specials. Okay, so iI guess you both have different tastes in robotic women. I didn't mind Alice, but that's because my frustration was probably focused on the annoying beeping sound when a Nexo scan is imminent. I've seen five mini-movies and two TV episodes and it's already driving me nuts. I'm glad I don't have kids yet, because I can see them rewinding the scene over and over to rescan the Nexo Power 5 times... Quote

8BrickMario Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I liked Alice! It was wonderful over-the-top TV-host cheese, and she'd be a great figure. Since it's not on-topic to the sets, I'm going to introduce a can of worms to this thread: Flama. Sources have conflicted on their gender, with some calling them male, some some saying they're female. Most official promotional material (including an email from LEGO about the question) identifies Flama as unambiguously female, but Alexandre Boudon (Toth) who designed Flama, said the character was designed as a male twin of Moltor. So, did LEGO reinterpret the design into a female, or was there a massive confusion? Quote

Any reason they're just showing them all day after day and not week after week? Quote
8BrickMario Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 It's more fitting here, but yeah, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned it. I don't really care about the answer at this point, I just want to know where this confusion came from if the designer and LEGO seem to disagree. Good that more episodes are coming, though. Quote
Chilly_Productions Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Does anyone know when episode 3 airs in the UK? Quote

I feel the same, the answer doesn't matter. However, the whole situation is hilarious and I would very much like to know how it came about. Come on, not in this thread too! Didn't you post a list a few days back which had the new episodes starting on Wednesday? I think they aired Ninjago the same way, one episode a day. I'm all for that, much better for binge-watching! gamejutzu Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Someone said episode 3 hits today or so? ... Hmm, I think so. Looks like there's a few things here and there from the 3rd episode. Quote

I wasn't replying to your question, I don't know when UK airs either. I just assumed episode 3 would be up today or tomorrow (in the US and Youtube) since CM4Sci said so. Quote

Deadshot Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) Episode 3 aired an hour ago here in the U.S. I liked it, but what I liked about it may be a spoiler: It introduced the Fortrex, Lances's Mecha Horse, and Clay's Rumble Blade. The Fortrex was initially a castle-shaped RV that is retrofitted into a fortress, and you get to see some of the features of the other 2, like the horse-motorcycle transformation and the split-function of the Rumble Blade. Cheers. Edited January 13, 2016 by Deadshot Quote
jake0324demo Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 The Lion Chi Temple from Legends of Chima made a small cameo during the training room scene, Nexo Knights could be a realm of Ninjago too. Quote
DuckBricks Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 If anyone's found these episodes online, is it possible to link them? I can't find it anywhere on the usual sites... Quote

DuckBricks Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 -funny pic snip- While this is pretty funny, I really wouldn't be surprised if another realm was wasted on a "cameo" realm like Chima for Nexo Knights... Quote
Mandate Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 While this is pretty funny, I really wouldn't be surprised if another realm was wasted on a "cameo" realm like Chima for Nexo Knights... Unfortunately, you're right. I get the feeling that with the "villains unite" wave coming up, this might be the last we see of regular NINJAGO for a while, or ever again, so it's not too far-fetched to believe that they might just assign random realms to be certain things because they'll never get around to exploring them all. Dr_Chronos Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 (edited) Well, the third episode was very disappointing. The exposition was incredibly heavy and they've already sucked the life out of the personality-based jokes. Not to mention the suddenly poor dialogue near the end. Finally, the Nexo Power once again does no special effect other than poofing monsters on contact. That's not to say there wasn't any enjoyable parts, but I think the postives and negatives here canceled each other out to make an alright episode. Edited January 14, 2016 by Dr_Chronos Quote
