Okay, the Falcon WAS clearly white...when new

In the film's it's dirty and damaged and has a grey sheen as a result (as any uncleared white car would)

As such the Falcon is both white AND grey

Lego's grey is TOO grey. But their white is too white. Grey looks better - but there's no real need for such prominent dark grey in the model

Contrast, take the dark grey out of the current model, and it ends up looking like a big grey blob. Comparing the current falcon to the previous version, it is very clear that the added dark accents have mode for a visually much more interesting ship, at least to me.

so I've been thinking this over for a bit (since the first comments started) and I wanted to like the white better, and I waited a while to see how the digital versions would play out. but at the end of it no matter the color it is on film the LBG color with darker accents better portrays the spirit of the ship (in Lego form) than a white and LBG version has or would. I think its safe to say we all agree that a Very Light Gray would be the ideal but its just not possible currently.

Just a small note. These renderings can be quite missleading. Different light setting can produce very different results. Lighter colors usually seem darker with default settings compared with the actual appearence on daylight. Therefore an argument like "I rendered this and it's way to dark" isn't always valid.

I say the falcon was a wight/light light grey when it was new (way before han got it) but after years of use of smuggling and flying around getting dinged it got filthy and probly needed parts replaced and they used what ever they could get not caring about the color of the panels.

Ausini also has some other great Star Wars ships:

But back to the Falcon discussion.

208 "Light Stone Grey".

This looks to be the appropriate color scheme, even for a new YT-1300. The Falcon would have a bit of dirt on it, but otherwise it would pretty much be this color. As such, I think the grey version is the closest approximation. While white might technically be closer in the RGB scientific sense of the word, it should be represented in some variant of grey.

Either way, I still voted for Benny's Falcon, Falcon, FALCON!

No, and why Falcon will be in blue?

The blue-orange one is a chinese knock-off set clearly inspired on the falcon

I for one think it is awesome, sadly the cheapest ive found it so far is $90, and that is waaaaay too much for me to spend on a knock-off set for shits and giggles

Looking at photos of various LEGO Millennium Falcons taken under sunlight or studio light conditions makes me think the light gray color works really well. Especially on the UCS Falcon. There is probably a reason why LEGO Falcons have never been white, not even in polybags or advent calendars. Or in mini and midi-size, for that matter.

I guess there is just no way to please every single consumer. Luckily our competitors have offers for more, erm, otherworldly tastes. Look, is that a white (radar) dish!? ;)

I think that the current 75105 version is the best (non-UCS) representation of the Falcon that TLG has ever made, in both color and shape. I love it. I'm trying to figure out how to hang mine from the ceiling. The previous one was a little too monotone for my taste but the light grey just looks right to me. A lot of discussion has been made about white but I just don't see it. The ship is filthy and TLG white is too pristine.

Gray gets my vote when it comes to the color of the Millennium Falcon, but this thread gets my vote when it comes to most ridiculous, superfluous discussion ever. I kid, i kid. But seriously, I don't think that any amount of whining on here can supersede what the professionals over at TLG (in conjunction with Lucasfilm) have already decided: the MF is gray!

Has to be grey (to match Han`s hair!!), remember this ship is well used , old tech as it appears in "Force Awakens"

Or very light tan .. studio models don't match the (very different) movie versions so we can argue until the cows come home (and this is not a new debate as I've pointed out, it's been going on in the model making community for +30 years with no resolution so far)

LIGHT BLUISH GREY mixed with dark red/dark bluish grey/bits of tan is the proper way for TLG to do an MF until that elusive VERY light bluish grey becomes a common colour

This is the way the MF has looked in all the movies we'we seen so far. It _may_ have been pristine white way before ANH (or even THP) but we do not know .. Unless someone has a sale brochure from CEC featuring the YT-1300 from way back then

Cheers,

Ole

The Falcon is clearly grey. Here's a shot of the Millennium Falcon with several white objects and elements, including stormtroopers, in the background and around it:

Should be pretty clear - and easy to see the difference between grey and white here, too.

Once again, here is an actual photo of the set this was filmed in, it's a warm white, the slight differences are due to lighting (and it certainly looks closer to stormtrooper whites than really cool grey elements in the hangar regardless):

*snip*

Once again, the picture was there to compare the Falcon's colour to pure white surroundings, and it certainly isn't LEGO white, and absolutely not "white as Hoth snow".

No matter how much you twist it, you can't portray a ship like the Millennium Falcon in snow white colour with LEGO. It's a very light grey colour, with lots of damage, so at that,

it should be portrayed as either very light grey or just any light grey. A white (LEGO) Millennium Falcon wouldn't look right and you need to understand that it just wouldn't work.

You can't take a rusty looking ship like the Falcon and then turn it into something as white as a Wampa.

That picture looks like a work in progress. It looks unfinished. Incomplete. Lacking its true coloration. Grey.
