EDIT: Also, discussing the released doctor who set, does anyone think that Capaldi's face looks off? I think it might too stretched out, or too big a gap between mouth and nose.

Nah, I think it captures his typical expression well. Woildn't work as well if the gap between mouth and nose was smaller IMO.

Got a 9/10th doctor tardis console moc based on the general build from dimensions:

Hey I'm new to the forum (literally, first post right here) and Lego MOCs in general, but I'm a huge whovian and am really interested in building something like this, especially the 10 and 11 ones! Is there any easy way for you to post/send me the parts list and/or building instructions?

Or is there program I should download that would allow you to send me the build file?

Thanks.

I`m old enough to remember all the Doctors, Christopher Eccleston was my favourite of the modern "re-boot" (his episode where he encounters the last remaining Dalek, being kept in a billionaire`s private museum in the future; is brilliant!), Tom "mad as a brush,..Jelly Baby ,anybody?" Baker was my favourite "classic " Doctor and out of all the recent companions/new characters, I think Capt Jack Harkness is fantastic...after all he linked us into the "TorchwooD" series, which I loved. I also liked David Tennant, but he became a wee bit too manic (trying too hard to be as batty as Tom Baker ,perhaps?)

This theme would be well-served with Star Wars-style battle packs, each containing four or so of some classic Doctor Who "army-builder"-type adversary, plus a small supplementary build - a Dalek battlepack, a Cyberman battlepack, a Weeping Angel battlepack, a Sontaran battlepack, etc.

I would be all for that. Though with the current Lego dimensions pack you can kind of do that for the Dalek's and Cybermen. Helps that they are still only $7.49 here in the States. However a cheaper way to get some Weeping Angel's would be very appreciated along with some Sontaran's.

I'd be good with just one battlepack that contained one of each of those. Specifically with the Ideas set Dalek build, since that looks so much better than the Dimensions one.

Maybe something with three minifigures and two buildable Daleks - maybe even different colored Daleks.

totally agree,I put a thread up about Marvel/DC needing battle-packs to "flesh" out builds/dioramas..Dr Who needs be countering invasions, so we need loads of Cybermen, Sontarens, Daleks and also some Ogrons ,who were the Daleks minions in some adventures would be great too! 25545692753_3541338da3.jpgp01nw75j by kenny burns, on Flickr Edited by r5-j2

I tried combining the Ideas and Dimensions Dalek.

I liked the base of the Ideas', but the top part of the Dimensions. I hated the spacing out from the set.

I also recreated the TARDIS from dimensions.

It was a bit tricky to get the 1 x 6 tiles to match up right and fit in perfectly, but it is possible.

If anyone is interested I'll post instructions.

Someone else created it in real life too:

Those my thoughts exactly on the dalek: prefer the top half of the dinensions dalek but prefer the bottom half base of the ideas dalek.

I love what you've come up with and was exactly what I had in mind as being the 'perfect design'. Looks much better then either of them in my opinion and certainly.the best one I've seen

Shame there's not really an alternative for the lever piece being used as the sucker personally but of course using the standard design of the sucker pad from the ideas set would make it too long now it's at the front.

In my view it's like the TARDIS, great design, but out of scale.

I think the main thing I prefer about the Dimensions design is the black base goes all around rather than just partly. The Ideas Daleks look odd at the bottom where the base abruptly stops.

I thought so too, so I replaced a few parts to round it out. I used two of these as replacements for the 1x1 black plates under the curved pieces, and I used two of these instead of the 1x2 plates under the 1x3 angle plates. I also changed the bottom hinge plate on the back to black. I didn't solve the front, but at least the sides and back look better now.

Lego always has some pretty cool exclusives at the San Diego Comic Con in July and I would not be surprised one bit if one of them this year is all of the Doctor minifigs in the Lego Dimensions game.

I swear, if it's the 10th Doctor...

I would be insanely salty if they did that.

That would be a surefire way to piss people off. I can only imagine the aftermarket prices if that was to happen..

Unless the exclusive Doctor used some new elements, it's easy enough to make a decent Tenth Doctor with the blue pinstripe suit. A civilian costume is easier to pull off than a superhero one.

This is true. I need to do that eventually.

Though I imagine that some exclusive super hero figure will come from that unspeakable event...

However that is a discussion for elsewhere I guess.
