Velouria Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 (edited) ...They are not evil, just a little misunderstood sometimes! I have amused myself by creating new Elves trough re-paints and mods of various minidolls. Hope you like 'em! Here's Gothic Gaby, with her cat Azrael, and Urban Ulla, with her boombox! And Metal Maggie, she's never far from a guitar. Freddie the Faun is a nice guy and not the least bit horny. And then there is Hipster Hannah, who works her way trough art school as a barista while wearing her ironic cat shirt. And finally- Wicca Gwendoline- this is her favourite time of year! And when it gets dark, they get together and make some music. Hope you like 'em! I Edited October 10, 2015 by Velouria Quote
6ix Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Cool indeed! I like the goth chick, eh, elf. The annoying hipster, not so much ;-p Where's Azrael from? Looks like my real cat! Quote
samurai-turtle Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Where's Azrael from? Looks like my real cat! It is from the new Collectible Mini-figure line (Series 14 Monsters). Quote
Iria Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 When I read the title I was hoping these would be customized minidolls- you did not disappoint! I love seeing minidolls transformed and given personalities. Gaby and Gwendoline are my favourites. I'm not hipster enough to understand why cat shirts are ironic, but it did make me chuckle nonetheless. Quote

Velouria Posted October 11, 2015 Author Posted October 11, 2015 I do these re-paints with nail polish by the way. I have tried several different types of paint, but this is the only thing that stays on well enough- also very easy to remove when things go wrong! Unfortunately polish is not great for fine detail. For that I use a fine Steadtler lumicolor permanent marker. Also, a shop for nail professionals nearby provided me with extremely small water transfers. These were made to decorate nails, but I found they work great on Lego. It all took several tries and is far from perfect, but I'm getting there. darkelves5 by elwingblue, on Flickr Freddie wears the headpiece of the series 14 minifigs gargoyle, which has been carved and repainted. The witch hat with hair comes from that series as well. Quote
