That's an atrocity! A failed attempt at cuteness. The turd in pajamas thing is funny, but this thing reminds me of horror clowns like Pennywise.

Yes, the packaging is lovely, but the vampire looks like he has fangs coming out of his nostrils. I'm not the right audience, though. I generally hate these types of things.

Looks like fangs to me. Goofy-looking fangs for a goofy-looking model. He maybe could've stood to have one plate's separation between his nose and fangs, but I don't think it's too confusing for kids to understand.

I would be that someone. I actually did not know it was supposed to be a pilgrim until someone pointed it out! The vampire looks like a vampire at least. Goofy, but it's still possible to tell what it is.

No. It seems to alternate between "vignette year" and "character model year", and this year there don't seem to be any side-sets with minifigures in them.
