Now complete and working very well.

3 functions through the turntable. Boom raise, boom extend and hoist.

More like a diplodocus than a spider.

Push left lever forwards for outriggers, pull back for crane. Push right lever for drive. Push yellow bush for power on.

Very cool and very clean :) Although the real crane is small this model is pretty big. It's nice to see all the funtions. Have just one question. Do supporters actually lift the crane from the ground?

Not sure what you mean about the size issue, it is a 40:1 scale model so is much smaller than the real crane.

It is just over 3Kg with batteries, so sadly the outriggers will not lift the crane. They do some work though as the crane does tip over if they are not deployed.

Not sure what you mean about the size issue...

I meant that the real crane is a dwarf in compare to a mobile or a crawler crane and that this crane you build is quite big. If you would put the 42009 next to it this one would be bigger or at least same size or!? I meant no harm ;)

Sorry, dude. My bad. I take things far too literally sometimes. I also made a mistake on the scale. It is more like 4:1, which does make it a large model!
