Verdi's been unusually restless since reading SpacerSteve's last report. The translator is getting better at interpreting his rustles and squeaks...seems he (she? it?....really what is the proper pronoun for a plant?) takes "Vegetable Rights" very seriously and insists we exact revenge on the critter SpacerSteve sited....

We were able to track our prey to the edge of the Koidzumi Veldt, where we set up camp.

Our first task was to unload and set-up the WZ-112 Sniper cannon...

Verdi monitored the Targeting Console while we set up in our position....

Klaus served as an excellent spotter....

IMG_8986sm5.jpg

And now we wait......Klaus notes that there are many broken trees about...

IMG_8991sm5.jpg

Oh yeah, the truck....Accountant Long hooked me up with a sweet Citroën DS-181 "Chassemaître" Safari Cruiser...

30 years ago, it was the top of the line in SEV's (Safari Exploration Vehicle) and, honestly, no one has come any where near her quality and versatility since....

IMG_8987sm5.jpg

Finally, the computer indicates our target has come into range...

IMG_9003sm5.jpg

We get in position and make a visual confirmation.....

IMG_9004sm5.jpg

Taking aim........

IMG_9005sm5.jpg

FIRE!!!

IMG_9006sm5.jpg

The Hunting Drone confirms our kill...not bad for 34 kilometers.....

IMG_9007sm5.jpg

Klaus: "Wait......I've got something else.....

IMG_9008sm5.jpg

"Yep....Kawashita mines....that explains all the broken trees. We will need to be careful while recovering the carcass. Are they encrypted? Can we remote detonate them?"

Klaus: "Scanning now.....let's get that meat while it's still fresh!"

IMG_9017sm5.jpg

We uploaded our scans to the science division.....perhaps they can decode the mines' command software, for now, we'll have to blast these...and perhaps break a few more trees......

Jeez, wow. This is awesome! Great work! love La Citreön! C'est tres chic! And the track that the vehicle made is great too! Just lovely ground work! I also must say that the vegetable aliens you Mantis folk have been including in your mocs are simply inspired! Great work all around!

Seriously though, this is awesome. I love the truck, the landscaping, and the purple critter. That sniper looks like it packs a punch! *huh* I really get a "A Sound of Thunder" (the book, not the movie ) vibe from this, with the knocked over trees, futuristic tech, and hunting rifle. Awesome scene!:thumbup:

I'm also envious of how large your photobox is...

You might be surprised how simple it is...basically a sheet of 48" wide background paper, pinned to the wall, with two old "smith victor" hot lights like these, on stands, or lying on the floor......I'll try to remember to post a picture of my set-up next week....

So much awesomness in your build! The Citroën DS-181 "Chassemaître" Safari Cruiser is great. Vedauwoo is packing some serious fire power. You did great building the critter from last week. I really like how its eyes are closed on the top of the safari vehicle.

It really is sad that more corporations don't support vegatable rights.

Looks like you hit the PAB wall recently?

Lol....actually I did have to go in on Saturday and grab more little "bamboo plants" as I needed more for the 2nd landscape, oh...and two mixels for parts for the critter....got green 1x2 slopes there too, but a couple of weeks back...
