FonsoSac Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 MR1 is a walker specially designed for the world championship of quadrupeds in Orion-3. MR1 Walker by FonsoSac, en Flickr The championship dates back to the early colonies that were established in the system. The lack of roads and the need to travel long distances to attend exomushrooms plantations, popularized the use of quadrupeds walkers vehicles. Soon farmers began making races between them and bet money and land. It was especially important the race at annual mushroom's fair in the city of Novaathens MR1 Walker by FonsoSac, en Flickr MR1 Walker by FonsoSac, en Flickr MR1 Walker by FonsoSac, en Flickr The races take place in rough terrain where walkers can exceed speeds of 130 km/h. These speeds can be achieved thanks to the terrain analysis and stabilization CPUs which avoid obstacles and should try to avoid falling correcting movements of the walker. Although accidents are not as frequent as in the origins of the sport still happens with injuries of all kinds to the pilots. MR1 Walker by FonsoSac, en Flickr C&C is welcome as always. Quote
badchriss Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Walkers are always great, especially if they are arachnid shaped like yours. I bet those Claws at the End of each "Foot" gives the Walker a great Grip on Terrain. And it looks like the Legs are completely posable in pretty much every Way you want. Quote
___ Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 (edited) That is really a nice one, Fonso + now I also noticed how interestingly you have solved that red chair! QUESTION: did you have on your mind that M-Tron prototype walker (actually never released) or is it just coincidence that they share the basic concept idea? Edited October 18, 2015 by bublible Quote

Yes, the legs are posable but the clip joins between first and second segment are a little loose so its hard to sustain some positions That is really a nice one, Fonso + now I also noticed how interestingly you have solved that red chair! QUESTION: did you have on your mind that M-Tron prototype walker (actually never released) or is it just coincidence that they share the basic concept idea? Thanks. The chair is similar to the chairs in Palace Cinema set, but it's perfect because I looked for a minimalistic seat. I don't remember the M-Tron prototype walker, it's possible I've seen it. Can you post a link to any photo? I'd like to see it. I wanted to buid a walker for several weeks and I've seen many photos from many people, many influences, It's difficult to say there is something original in my work. The concept idea was a walker which legs could move like a cheetah or any other fast quadruped, I've not used any reference photo, only a fast sketch on a notebook but I think I've got it Quote
LegoPercyJ Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 This is fantastic! Great overall shape! Quote
Brick Capone Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 This is very cool! Reminds me sort of like a mantis a bit personally. Quote
YellowCorvette Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 (edited) The model itself looks good. The walker itself reminds me for some sort of mantis and spider drones, which is nothing bad about it. Edited October 20, 2015 by ArmstrongYong Quote
