Not too far, but it is drifting. Perhaps one of the life rafts?

No offense Columbo, but I believe I asked you a question. Who else was with us when I took the picture of the creature?

  • Author

I thought I had answered you Captain:

To answer the Captains's question, I have to think about this. My memory is a little FOGGY, but as I recall:

Most of us were in the galley, Otto in the kitchen. Mike Handy went to his cabin. Scotty was in Engineering, and Jack Tupp had run off wildy to the bathroom. Bennie was out in the fog, and Stan had gone looking for him. That's about all I remember.

Everyone else was with us, except for the Skipper and Diver Dan who; as I recall, had not come on board yet.

Life raft? What's wrong with that boat? OK, someone tie a rope to me and I will swim out to it.

I think the answer was no one... 8-|

Scotty ties a rope to himself and climbs overboard. There are some steel mounted ladder rungs along the side of the ship to climb down. The water is pretty rough to swim in, but being pretty strong and in shape, Scotty makes it. He is on the Minnow waiving to all of you *y* .

Is there any sign of the first mate?

If he ties his end of the rope to the Minnow, could we pull it back to us?

Wow! That was refreshing! No jellyfish this time. 8-| I'll tie the rope off onto this bollard here and hopefully someone will use the forward capstain to haul the boat in....

:'-) My boat is safe! I think I should have given Scotty the keys of the Minnow to help him bring it back. Elsewise, let's start pulling!

But if it was not stolen, then what did happen for a chunk of the Sea Ghost hull to go missing? I doubt my little boat could make such a rip in the strong steel hull. I'll ask Scotty when he comes back what kind of hole it was.

*Dan*

I think we can get that treasure now to help pay off for a new radio.

OK, Let's figure this out, perhaps it's all the whiskey:

THE CAPTAIN, MR. MASON, GENE, AND MANNY WERE IN THE GALLEY WHEN THE PICTURE WAS TAKEN.

OTTO WAS IN THE KITCHEN (ROOM NEXT TO GALLEY), AND THE FOLLOWING WERE NOT IN THE GALLEY OR THE VICINITY:

MIKE HANDY, SCOTTY, JACK TUPP, BENNIE, AND STAN.

Keep in mind that this is my recollection.

Sorry Columbo, I must be hitting the same bottle of whiskey Scotty was hitting.

Because I drank so much-is Scotty back on the Sea Ghost yet?

However, Columbo I specifically remember Mr. Mason not being in the galley when we saw the monster... :-/

Damn, should have grabbed the keys.

Ditto " ". How many sailors does it take to screw in a... Well, never mind...

I'm not an expert at ship hulls, but that large crane/ hoisting/pulley mechanism on the back of the Minnow could have hit the the Sea Ghost just right to tear into the hull. I'm sorry to say that this ship does seems aged and rusty.

I think we can get that treasure now to help pay off for a new radio.

Not sure what you mean???

The Minnow is successfully pulled in. Does anyone wish to tie it to the Sea Ghost

Damn, should have grabbed the keys.

I didn't want to. It's too easy to lose something that small while swimming in the ocean.

I sure do.... otherwise why else did we rescue it?

I'll ask Scotty when he comes back what kind of hole it was.

Let me look.....

Geno, take the luger and search the Minnow for Frank...

Skipper, what do you mean about finding the treasure. Is there something you're not telling us?

Dan, is your diving gear on board? Was it on the Minnow? If it was on the minnow, go with Geno and check to make sure it's still there.

Has anyone seen Mr. Mason?

However, Columbo I specifically remember Mr. Mason not being in the galley when we saw the monster... :-/

As I recall, right after the creature appeared in the window, you had asked who else saw it?

If my memory serves me correctly, Mr. Mason responded:

"Egad!! Well that there is bein' er El Hombre Pez if I ever saw one! There's no mistakin' it! I told ye all, but none 'o you mindless swab 'ad listened! Der local fishermen 'o Lierganes says it to be an amphibian human-looking beast taht be it, that be it! When Mr. Francisco de la Vega Casar disappeared while he was 'a swimmin' and Six years later, he was recovered by some Cadiz fishermen, and his body was covered in thick scales 'o fish!

And after der nine years 'o livin' underground he disappeared to roam der seas forever, but they say nothin' was ever 'eard 'o him since. He's been here all along! He be the true fate of Mr. Francisco de la Vega Casar! And I will never rest until he is hunted down and destroyed or the such happens to myself! And the savage's remains, no doubt, would be makin' a nice bounty, as well".

Scotty goes to tie up the Sea Ghost with the same rope as previously used before the storm, discovering that the rope appears to have been cut 8-

I have a diving suit on board here, but I'd like the check through the Minnow nonetheless.

Hmmm...I thought it was him for sure...Do you recall seeing him before I took the picture, Columbo? If it is just a mask, he could've taken it off quickly. Or maybe he is working with someone...

Yes Captain. He was with us before you took the picture as well.

It appears that Otto is also missing. Perhaps we might try the galley?

Nothing different on the Minnow, just a bit of water from the storm.

Not sure what you mean???

(Does nobody notice when I say *Dan* means to Dan only.)

But in your question, the answer is the treasure we were looking before, the one on the coordinates, the jewels, don't you remember? The money we grab from it will pay for a ne radio, theoretically.

Everything looks like it was before the storm on the Minnowe, good thing I secured it all down. But what happened to the rope that tied it to the boat? Was it cut?

Hmmm*glances at rope*, it was!

(Does nobody notice when I say *Dan* means to Dan only.)

Pete responds, "When I write my mystery novels, I will usually say either:

To Dan: bla...bla...bla...

or

Hey Dan, let's bla, bla, bla...

So it's clear, you know? - Mr. * ;-)

If you want to say something to me, you can just whisper. ;-)

Ok, I'll keep that into consideration. :-) .

So I whisper it to Dan.

>:-( What are you whispering about?

I wonder if I can tell if the hole on the side was caused from the outside or the inside, and if from the outside can I see any hints of what may have caused it, such as paint, rubber marks, strips of lacy lingerie...

You and I can climb onto the Minnow to examine the side.

You and I can climb onto the Minnow to examine the side.

That is a great idea. I wonder what we see....
