Christian Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Is the lighthouse really part of the set or just background accessory? It would surprise me if it was... or is there another set in the pipeline... 8-| I pretty sure that the lighthouse is part of the set because the name listed here is 7739 - Coastguard Patrol Boat & Tower, which clearly indicates that it comes with a kind of tower, and in this case a lighthouse. Mr Hobbles Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Hmm, that Coast Guard boat doesn't look too bad. Just conjecturing, but it does look a *little* <insert that tiresome argument>, but we'll see when it comes out. Looking forward to seeing more of that set! ;-) Undecided on the Agents sets...need to see more (Half the pic is obscured by glare). Looks interesting though. (Still hating the Coast Guard jeep though! :-X ) Quote
Sim Avenue Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 The coast guard theme If i remb correctly there is 4 sets in total, in my opinion the ship is the better looking ones~ cheers~ Quote
Hinckley Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 New Theme? Agents? Thanks Sim! You're just full of news, that's great! We appreciate you sharing your finds with us. 'Agents' set names have been popping up in online catalogs over the last week or two, so it's nice to see the first image from this new line. Hobbes- I believe that lighthouse is part of the boat set. I wouldn't imagine something that elaborate and brickbuilt would be background. Quote
Imperial13 Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 (edited) Love the coastguard boat!!! Agents looks like its aimed a little more at children... way to many figs in that set, and an evil box glare!!! Most Agents sets will probably come with some huge piece, but tons of other cool parts and playable items ( You need some playability function, all my mocs do ) Lets hope we get that boat for cheap, because it only has 6 minifigs... and a shark! *wub* And the worst theme ever is definetly Zube. :-P Edited December 31, 2007 by Imperial13 Quote

Siegfried Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Thanks Sim Avenue! *sweet* That ship/boat is great! *wub* I was saying to my wife that I would break my MOC tugboat if Lego bought out a new tugboat... that that would make a great one with a bit of modification! :-D The Lighthose is pretty cool too! Not so sure on the Agent line now... 8-| Looks too kid friendly... :-/ Quote
xwingyoda Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 The coast guard theme If i remb correctly there is 4 sets in total, in my opinion the ship is the better looking ones~ cheers~ Here are the sets ;-) Coast Guard Quad Bike Coast Guard 4WD & Jet Scooter Coast Guard Helicopter & Life Raft (we saw) Coast Guard Patrol Boat & Tower (we saw) Coast Guard Kayak (we saw) Coast Guard Truck with Speed Boat (we saw) So the lighthouse IS indeed included in that set ;-) *yoda* Quote
gylman Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 ..... so far, no sign of Adventurers.... :'-( I'll keep holding my breath. Nothing much to say about the sets.... not impressed. Not much here for this AFOL except the Creator convertible, and maybe that little boat-truck hauling thingie. I have to say that this thread has become very confusing though. It began a couple of months ago, has added pics gradually, the pics are now 17 pages of posts ago, and it's a pain to go back and forth. I wonder whether it wouldn't be easier to create a new thread when a really significant new bunch of new set information is released. No one reads the old posts anyway. Anyway, happy new year everyone. Quote
xwingyoda Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Just found the Coast Guard quad ;-) Ot looks pretty cool and we have a bettere knowledge of the new torso. Enjoy !! images removed at the request of TLC *yoda* Quote
VBBN Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 (edited) Oh god, after inspection of the new "agent" set, I found a label, which means *Pull-back*, or *Motorized*. Edit: Cool mini set, yoda! Tks for the find! Edited December 31, 2007 by ~VBBN~ Quote
casewindu Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 this new coast guard theme looks really nice and classic yet my town does not have a harbour as it would take up to much room so I will have to decide whether to purchase them. That little canoo is really good I wonder if it comes with Mr canoo man! (I dont know if many will get that) ;-) The agents theme looks crap full stop. Quote
Mr Hobbles Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Ahhh that Quad bike is way better than the other sets in the Coast Guard theme so far imo. I think I'll be purchasing that! I can't wait to see what the 4WD+Jet Bike looks like either. Hopefully it'll be better than that monstrosity of a truck and boat. :-P Quote
Piranha Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 I wished for a New coast Guard Sub line and TLC provides one! :-D That is a great set, much better than the previous Coast Guard sets. -I see diving gear -Nice rescue Zodiac! And a crane to put it in the water - The light house and pier/dock are *wub* TLC did a great job! - There is a also a citizen on a boat or surfboard swimming from a classic shark!!! :-D Its great to have those back! Thanks so much for the pics!! In all the Coast guard line is sweet so far *sweet* Lego agents= :-X P Quote
Darth_Legois Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 WOW this is the best New Year's Day ever! i wake up to new pictures of these cool sets! *wub* *y* well were to start....agents theme looks pretty good (hopefuly we'll get more civilian cars :-) )YAY batman guns! *y* ,The Coast Guard sets look ok i guess but i probable wont have enough money to buy them + the police sets, agents,Star Wars & Indiana Jones (& maybe creator) as well,I might buy the cheaper Coast Guard sets though :-/ . btw HAPPY NEW YEAR! Quote
legobear Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 According to brickset, we are still missing two sets "4210 Coast Guard Platform" and also "7737 Coast Guard 4WD @ Jet Scooter." here is the link I was hoping for the patrol boat to be a bit smaller in size though. The winner of the coast guard sets for me is still the 8 wide helicopter. The quad bike I already have from the police surveillance truck so i'm not sure about getting it again. The kayak.... what am I going to do with it? Having said that I do love this theme a lot, I am hoping to see the Coast Guard Platform though....if it actually exists. Quote
Zarkan Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 LEGO Agents= Big mistake! Remember, it's just a preliminary. Things could change a lot from the prototype to the final kit. We shall how good or bad it really is soon enough. ;-) Regarding the new coast guard set, I am seriously in awe of the ammount of detail and design put into this beauty of a set. 8- Quote
5150 Lego Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 LEGO Agents= Big mistake! Just casue it isn't your cup of tea doesn't mean its a big mistake. :-| Like many have said, this is just prelim. pics. Also, you can't bash a hole line based of pics of just one set. Com'on guys. Wait till you at least see a couple more pics before you pass full judgment. Quote
AzMean Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 COAST GUARD ON!!! woohooo!!! Happ :-$ :-D y 2008! Quote
wulf Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 this is SO BAD *n* *n* what is up with lego and the big hull? i think they are just trying to use it as more as possible they never make a piece for a single set.. we will be seing a lot of this until they understand that its too <insert that tiresome argument>.. it sucks! and while it has a smooth design its too big.. this hull works better for a big plane than for a small one.. what kind of small plane has the nose of a passenger one??? :-| *wacko* Agreed. Lego city should be more realistic. Quote
M'Kyuun Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 I'm always bemused by the amount of set bashing that goes on when pics of new sets are shown. :-D Perusing the various threads, and having seen most of the preliminary pics for the '08 lineup ( my humble thanks to all of you who find and post these for the rest of us eager fans), I'm really impressed with most everything. I don't always fancy everything, but I do respect that TLC is at least infusing some diversity and some real creativity into the various themes. So far the 2007 and 2008 lineups are excellent on the whole, some of the best in years, IMHO. I sympathize with some of the complaints, but I also try to understand what TLC produces from a business standpoint. There's so much competition and just so many different toys and games vying for people's attention (and money) today. Toys have become works of art over the last 20 years, and we've come a long, long way from the old Atari 2600. Too, toy companies have been slow, or reluctant, to recognize their older collecting fanbases, and thus the target group is generally younger. TLC, Takara, Hasbro, & Bandai are all companies that have made strides towards making adult targeted products, to their collective credit., but the majority of their product will always be targetd to younger kids, as they should be...they are toys, after all. LEGO, and other building toys, however, have the built-in (pun intended) feature of becoming any other toy one can imagine and create. Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Well said. Im not the largest star wars or castle fan either, but just because I dislike the theme as itself I respect the sets, even if theyre not what I'd prefer. With how lego has been doing, the sets should be great, whether it be just for parts or an excellent playable design. Quote
rik Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 LEGO AGENTS?!? COOL!!! I WANT IT I WANT IT!! :-D :-D :-D EVIL! >:-) Quote
xwingyoda Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 I sympathize with some of the complaints, but I also try to understand what TLC produces from a business standpoint. Off course you ar right in your revious post but you know us excited nerdy AFOLs never totally satisfied with new sets or lines :-P And since we dont represent that much among the TLC market, we can act like that :-P (just kidding hehe) I will stick to city though since there is another agent topic here and agents is not and will never be part of city !! Sure kids love police sets (never figured why though !!) and we AFOLs are just sick of it !! How many police sets will we still suffer in the upcomming years ? I think that TLC could try and reach a compromise that would please kids and AFOLs (but that is just utopia land I know). Here is something taking a different approach: the shelves were still full of police HQ and other sets so how do you explain to consummers (especially the ones who bought the police station this christmas) that there is already a new one a couple of days later ?? I would call that bad marketing decisions !! Oh well, I am so happy at that postal & Coast Guard sub themes !! Yippy *yoda* Quote
