Lord Of Pies Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Wow, thanks Hinckley. I really want a boat set, a know their are loads being released, but I always miss them so this is my chance to pick up my first boat since the late nineties! And the orange colour scheme is nice, I always like orange bricks. X-D Quote
Hobbes Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 It's this piece: Click pic for BL reference. A Bionuckle part in City?!?!?!?!?!? :'-( Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 I think it is a rather cool piece my self. It will be cheaper than having it all brick built. Quote
AgentRick Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Yeah, I have a few of that piece and it's okay, it justs needs a useful place for a set, because you don't think they would put in something like Town Plan, or a park, they'd use it in a coast guard set. Plus I am still in love with the Jet ski/truck, the helicpter, and the Large ship/Light house *wub* . Quote
Brick Miner Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 It's this piece: Click pic for BL reference. oh!ya, im not too familar with those bionicle pieces... i always pictured that baseplate to be much bitter, like a 32x32 raised baseplate, but now i see it says 16x16. i guess it does make sense now... too bad i don't like that piece. now it makes the set even worse.... reminds me of the awful baseplate from the old CG sets... i hate the reduction of studs, or in the case of the new CG baseplate, no studs at all !!! it makes it seem vey unLEGO-like - BM Quote
Commander Andrew of 501 st Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 My mysterious source, the super secret Colonel Sanders, brings us new preliminary pics of the coast guard sets: idk if this has been brought up but, if you look closley at the box behind the lighthouse you see a surfer getting chased by a shark :-D Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 (edited) Thank you very much for the pics, Hinckley and Colonel Sanders! Except for the 4ward I already commented on every of these Coast Guard sets. I *wub* all these sets except the truck with the speedboat. The 4ward is very nice, too. But why didn't TLC include doors?! That would have made the car looking much nicer! Otherwise this Coast Guard theme is amazing! 8- Edited January 6, 2008 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Derek Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Legomilk speaks so little, but means so much! :-D Quote
Hinckley Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 ya, im not too familar with those bionicle pieces... i always pictured that baseplate to be much bitter, like a Freudian slip? :-D Quote
alex54 Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Thanks Hinckley and Colonel Sanders for those new pics. The car with the jetsky is really nice! A small litlle set! But I don't think that there are suspention on it... And for the baseplate from the lighthouse, I'm like you BrickMiner, "i hate the reduction of studs, or in the case of the new CG baseplate, no studs at all !!! it makes it seem vey unLEGO-like". This piece really looks like a Megab**** one. It's like TLC has copied it, for once! Now, we need to see some real pics... This time will come... Quote
5150 Lego Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 [Absolutley fantastic! The coast guard line is without a doubt, the best line of 08 so far! I'm liking everything i've seen so far. The large 4x4, is superb! Hopfully we'll see a suspention. The helocopter is probbly the best city based helocopter lego has ever came out with. Very impressed. *y* The ship..... Wow. Thats all i can say at this time. Still speechless. *wub* . This also has to be one of the best city ships i've ever seen. Hopfully it floats! Can't wait to pick these up! Imight have to pick them all up at once! Quote
Ricecracker Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 well on the pallet in the boat set, the new cargo box is there, and there are quite a few dark bley cheese-grater wedges (just for you starwars4j X-D ) and the other sets, just *wub* Quote
Piranha Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Thanks Hinckely! Comment Time: Speed Boat and Truck hauler: The speedboat is sleek and fast looking, looks like a new mold for the shape and base though. Also suffers from excessive stickering. I do wonder why the driver is wearing a helmet? :-D The truck doesn't impress me aside form the color pattern. Its also great to have new figs! 8- Quote
Siegfried Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 My mysterious source, the super secret Colonel Sanders, brings us new preliminary pics of the coast guard sets: Thank for the new pics Colonel Sanders and Hinckley! *sweet* I can see now that the chopper has those new grill pieces. All of these are on my want list (especially the ship as it would make a great tug boat and free up a lot of my parts X-D ), except the small car and boat set 7737. It looks a bit odd to me and I can't see any compelling parts... unless the wheels are the sprung type. *sweet* ....ya know that ship might have the fireboat hull from last year. It looks stubby in the big picture, but far longer in the little. If it does I may not want it afterall... :-/ I already have one of those and it's not beamy enough. Quote
Joey Lock Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 (edited) The only one Ill buy is the Rescue Chopper since you can moc it to be a Army Chopper but It could be a White army chopper. I dont like the orange. :-( Edited January 7, 2008 by Joey Lock Quote
Tiger Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 (edited) They all look amazing! :'-) Except for the ugly 8-wide truck... Bleh. But I plan on getting all the others. That helicopter is great! And the old-fashion sharks? 2008 is going to be great. Edited January 7, 2008 by Tiger Quote
Joey Lock Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 2008 is going to be great. I agree! Im looking forward to all the new Star Wars sets and the Castle things also the Indiana Jones! There a plenty of brilliant themes and Sets coming out this year! :-D Just bored waiting till September *sing* Quote

But the new Indy sets look great, the new Mars Mission sets that have aliens with arms, the new impulse sets, everything. Quote
Dr. Brick Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I don't really like those coast quard sets. They are all to big, except the quad and the jet-ski set. An 8-wide SUV? The helicopter is as wide as an airplane, if you have the old planes it is duble the size... I do like the life raft though. And the boat is nice, but I don't have space for it. The light house is white and orange. I don't think that's normal... *wacko* 8-| I prefer: http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/images/6414-1.jpg Its maybe pink, but that can be replaced. Well I'll probally like the sets when their time comes. Dr. Brick Quote
Tiger Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 images removed at the request of TLC Behind the antenna, on top of the black thingamajig, is that a new piece? It looks like the new-ish 1x1 slope, but it's 1x2. Quote
