Tiger Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 (edited) images removed at the request of TLC New? I love that 4 wheeler. But the bobcat looks a lot like this, minus a few pieces. Edited January 20, 2008 by Hinckley Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 They're new to me. Frankly not all to interested in them though, I like big sets much more. Who doesnt? :-$ Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 My sig figs head is every other set! *sing* As for the sets, I like them, especially the raft! Quote
Freddie Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I like the raft. I really like the raft. Dunno about the helicopter, haven't seen it yet, but I like the raft. Why can't LEGO experiment with "random" sets like that one? Something that doesn't necessarily belong in a sub-theme, but that would tie in nicely, connect, with the other sub-themes. As an example: I can see the raft being the center of attention for the coast guard guys. Just like a bank with bank robbers would tie in nicely with the police sub-theme. I'll stop there, before I start wandering. Quote

This CG set (2230) looks great! Hopefully it will be no promotional set because I regrettably haven't got the chance to get this sets and don't even have got the money to buy these sets for fantasy prices from Ebay. I even don't think that it'll be a promotional set because if there are two parts of which it shall consist (the boat and something other) isn't it too big for a promotional set in comparison to e. g. the Air Ambulance set?! Thank you for the pics, ~VBBN~! These sets appear to be promotional sets because they are very little, aren't they? But I personally don't care about whether these sets would be promo sets or not - I will never buy them because I find them too childish. Edited January 20, 2008 by Hinckley Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 (edited) I noticed something strange when looking closely at the pic of the 7739 CG Patrol Boat: images removed at the request of TLC The big box pic shows the boat with an - if I don't see it wrong - open room under the bridge with only a white guard-rail on each side. The little pic down on the left side of the box shows the room downstairs with two windows which are directly under the two windows of the bridge. It seems that in this pic the room under the bridge is - at least from the right and the left side and fromthe front closed. So which picture is real? Do we get the boat hopefully with a (nearly) closed room downstairs (like in e. g. last year's Cargo Harbor's Container Ship) - which I really would prefer *y* - or do we get a (nearly) open room downstairs (like in e. g. last year's Fire Ship) - which would be very bad and look very curious and unrealistic *n* ? Brickmaster Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 I have to laugh at the police impulse set with the radar gun and the speed limit sign, and a dog. :-$ If he catches anyone speeding, how on earth would he stop them!? :-D If their only persuasion was waving the little pizza paddle with a blue dot on it, I'm not sure how far this police tactic would get.. :-P Quote
Batbrick Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Well I just realised I haven't commented on these :-$ Anyhoo, I love the Coast guard line. Definitely redeems City 2008 for me! Kayak: Great little impulse that makes me happy that the Kayak is brickbuilt. Great way of getting lots of life jackets I don't have, as well as that cool helmet and a paddle which is ALWAYS handy. Quadbike: Not much to say really, a cool little set with a cool minifig. Car and Jetski: Very nice, loving that little jetski. A cool 4-Wide car too, with nice details. Truck and Speedboat: I actually really like this one. Big pieces are used sure, but used well ;-) . The speedboat mold is cool, and I love that truck. I know it is eight-wide, but really, its for the beach and offroad, not town or city center. Overall I like this one very much. Helicopter and Liferaft: Love this one, get a bley shark, sweet little life raft, and an awesome helicopter. I hate those giant airplane pieces, but this one is used excellently. Its nice to know that TLC is admitting its mistakes and atleast trying to use these pieces in versatile ways, as seen in this and the MM starship. Harbour: Best of the bunch, I love it more than this year's harbour. Great ship, bley shark, orange speedboat, beautiful lighthouse, cool dock, and more. I will definitely get this one *wub* Overall, I think 2008 is a great year for City, I will probably get the Kayak, Quadbike and Harbour. I would like to get more, but my money is on Castle, Indy and Batman. Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote

That how it goes in Belgium. Car chases are way to dangerous for other poeple on the road. Quote

Anyway, if one looks at 7739, the women on the boat in the background who is being chased by a shark (looks like the old mould not the possible new agents shark mould!) looks af if she is about to jump overboard! CF Mitch Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 (edited) I actually think that 'boat' looks more like some sort of (new) surfboard... But hey, that's me :-P I'm not too fond of these new Coastguard sets, the Heli with the liferaft looks cool, so does the smaller truck with the boat, but that's about it... Besides, I'm saving money for SW anyway (a) Edited January 20, 2008 by CF WeaZZel Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Upon closer look it could be a surfboard. Only time will tell! Quote

We have this in France. Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 We're too non-logical to have that here it would seem :-$ Quote
