Edited March 31, 2008 by Stealth Hunter Quote
Asuka Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Sounds very interesting, thanks Stealth Hunter.... a new street sweeper, a police swamp (air?) boat and a coast guard platform ( 8-| ).... I´m really curious.... :-) Quote
The Cobra Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 (edited) Anyone knows what these are? *wacko* I was about to say Promo, but Kiddiwinks has a price for 4210 Before you ask: 600 Rands (RRP?) = 74$ = 46,87 € = 37,30 Edited March 31, 2008 by The Cobra Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Thank you very much for that news, Stealth Hunter and The Cobra! It's clear that 4210 CG Platform regrettablyis a Promo set because Kiddiwinsk writes "(PROMO) (September 2008). I doubt if the Street Sweeper is a "normal" set since we will already get an Impulse set named like that in June. So I think it will be a Promo, too, or perhaps a Brickmaster set. The Police Swamp Boat may be "normal" set but it could be a Promo or a Brickmaster set, too, since I doubt if TLG releases more City sets as "normal" sets since there are already - escpecially of the little sets like Impulse sets - a huge range of them this year. Lord Santos Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 In whung's brickshelf gallery you can see new better pictures of the summer sets... *wink* Quote
metalandi Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 I must get some of these new coast guard sets for sure, the color selection on these is simply great! Quote
metalandi Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 I just got the newest shop @ home newsletter, and saw that: http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=9247 Is this new?? i never saw it anywhere before *look* That's a shitload of town minifigs! Quote
Shoc Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 I just got the newest shop @ home newsletter, and saw that:http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=9247 Is this new?? i never saw it anywhere before *look* That's a shitload of town minifigs! Nope. That's nowhere near new, been out a few years now. Before that was another one similar, except it wasn't just smily faces. It is a lot of minifigs, but pretty expensive for that (in England anyway). *skull* Quote

metalandi Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Oh, thanks for the claryfying..a shame i never saw that before *sceptic* Anyway, does anybody know, when exactly the new coast guard sets are coming out? I only heard, that they'll be available in summer... Quote
whung Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 (edited) Again, I don't know whether the photo of 4210 has been posted or not, but this seems the first time I see this set photo although the source seems confidential from catalog. From an auction post in taiwan: http://goods.ruten.com.tw/item/show?11080223981411 It is a bit cheaper than 7739. Edited April 17, 2008 by whung Quote
metalandi Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Thanks, i think this is the first time we see it! As far as i can tell from this picture it looks really sweet! can't wait till better pictures show up. Quote
Stealth Hunter Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Looks like some kind of oil rig. "Save your city with the THE BIG ORANGE RESCUE OIL RIG!" Quote
Deinonychus Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Aw damnit! I was kind of hoping I'd not like the platform...save myself some money. But from what I can tell from the little image...it looks pretty cool Quote
Hinckley Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Thanks whung! I really like this rig. This is going to be a very cool line, IMO. Can't wait to start seeing them pop up in stores and online! Coast Guard On! Quote
alex54 Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Thanks whung for this pic! EVen if the quality of the pic is bad, this set looks very promising, like the whole CG line! I like the colour scheme that is used for the new GC. And a platform like this is a really good idea! And there is a small copter and a crane! The playability seems to be fun, and the design too! I really need to develop the harbour section of my layout! But this set will help me, for sure! Quote
Wout Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Not a bad set. I don´t know if they put it in, but this is a nice set to re-introduce the blue 32x32 baseplate. Quote
phoinix Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 not bad not bad at all. lego is taking city to another level and i like it. although it seems very nice and all im trying to focus on creator and modular buildings. (with an occasional castle set) so im probably not getting any of the CG sets and try to get the Green Grocer! Quote
The Cobra Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I can hardly believe my eyes: 4210 will be available in Italy too! (so will Advent calendars!) Quote
xwingyoda Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I'm speechless... Wholly crap that set is brilliant !! I remember our talk regarding a derrick platform and that comes pretty close to it !! Looks great: the helicopter really ressembles the one from 7047 and its always great to have anoher big Zodiac. Why that set ? What purpose does it have ? I mean a HQ in the midle of the ocean doesn't make much sense to me especially since I thought the lighthouse was one. Its still looking great and I really love that sub theme. Tks Whung for yet again a great news !! Thank you, come again !! Quote
hollisbrick Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Damn that is cool, although the better it looks the more expensive it will be Quote
Asuka Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 What an interesting set, thanks for the news, whung. An offshore coast guard HQ, or perhaps some branch of the 7739 set.... an unusual idea, it seems like TLC´s taking that theme really seriously.... A neat set, pretty playable and a fine addition to that line for sure. Perhaps that helicopter landing platform looks a little too small for the big rescue craft of set 7738, and it could need a lot of blue baseplates to integrate this in a proper distance to any town layout ( ), but it´s simply cool, though. I only hope that all these new CG goodies don´t get released at once, that would be a bit too much of an overkill to me.... I would prefer the a little slower release politic of former times where you could find a new sub theme developed over maybe two years with just a handful of sets each year.... Everything´s going on so fast to me nowadays, I really wonder how they want to sell all these sets and to whom.... Agents, Speed Racers, Coast Guard, Indy, StarWars, MarsMission, Castle and so on.... so many great sets, almost much too much even for a pretty lunatic AFOL like me.... Quote
Section8 Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Why that set ? What purpose does it have ? It's purpose is for me to mod into a offshore oil rig about 30 seconds after I buy it. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Thank you very much for that new pic, whung! Although I would have prefered to see TLG releasing a little oil rig and a little CG ship in 4210 this set seems to be amazing ! If TLG turns it into a "real" oil rig it'll be  ! Quote
metalandi Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 (edited) I've found the new coast guard sets on amazon.uk ! not on sale already, but at least there are new pictures and you can pre-order them. Check it out! http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEGO-City-Coast-Gu...7756&sr=8-6 i just realized the coast guard unimog is WAY oversized. just look how mall the minifig is beside it Edited April 22, 2008 by metalandi Quote
