Lord Santos Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 That has got to be one of the best sets I've seen since 1997!!! The injured citizen has a not that common head... BUT the platform(spelling???) is from the Heavy Hauler set...Pitty... Quote
Mocha Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 This Coast Guard set looks like a oil rig... but overall looks real good Quote
medib Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 That's my first impression of the new set. It looks like the gas/oil rig of old.... sort of, but with a bit of modification and a bunch of good ol' imagination. Just my impression. Ben M. Quote
Zarkan Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Wow - another great set! Love the helicopter and the clever use of those Heavy Hauler pieces. Hm, I wonder if this is an exclusive? Probably is, considering that we haven't seen pictures until now. Quote
Algernon Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Meh, never been into city sets, seems boring. The Coast Guard sets are pretty good though. It seems like LEGO hired some better builders. Quote
L'Exocet Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Um, sorry to be a killjoy, but could someone please explain the idea of that platform to me - an oil rig turned into a rescue station? Why? So that it could be easily towed to disaster areas? Or is the building ground on the shores of LEGO City so expensive that the public services need to find more creative solutions? And what's with that mini-monorail thingie, wouldn't it be a lot more efficient and safer (and cheaper) to just walk those ten steps to helipad? On the plus side, it is fairly easy to convert (back) into an oil rig, too bad the colors is all wrong for Octan. And the chopper is nice (although the patient may disagree). Quote

keetong Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 in one of the photos is one guys flippers two different colours Quote
ZeeK Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 in one of the photos is one guys flippers two different colours I don't think so - it just a show on his right flipper. They should use soft light to eliminate shadows like this one. Quote
Dr. Brick Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Well this set is interesting. I can imagine it being a fun build. But I wouldn't want it in my city. Maybe I'll buy it as a part pack... is that a new piece as window for the building? To bad it doesn't include blue baseplates... Dr. Brick Quote
Derek Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Very nice pics of a very nice set! I dont know, but it seems that this is the CG base, and the lighthouse is just a lighthouse, which isn't a bad thing... Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 (edited) Thank you very much for these new pics, whung! The CG Platfrom looks really  ! It is very well designed. And I personally prefer this smaller helicopter over the big CG Rescue Helicopter. Since TLG releases such an amazing thing I hope that they'll release a real oil rig soon, too, because that would be a dream ! Klaus-Dieter Edited June 6, 2008 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Shoc Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Ahhh, the last coastguard sets I ever got where the Res-Q ones, from the nineties! Actually, now I think about it they were the last ones anyway... That oil rig-like one looks reaaally good, but probably too expensive in England. Bah. :skull: Quote
Mocha Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 (edited) And I personally prefer this smaller helicopter over the big CG Rescue Helicopter. I like the bigger heli better because if the small helicopter experiences some turbulance, well you can say bye to the patient on the back... the "platform" looks pretty cool but i'd probly pretend that its a oil rig... or a mission control in a missle silo (for my lego bond ) I forgot too mention that I HATE the window piece on the small helicopter.... Why Lego Company? WHY? Edited June 7, 2008 by Mocha Quote
VBBN Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 (edited) Well, I was talking to one of my friends, and a new city set came up. Not so sure about it however... If an ambassador could help, that would be great. Coastguard Hovercraft. Regards, VBBN, General Edited June 7, 2008 by ~VBBN~ Quote
Canticleer blues Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 (edited) Why has no one mentioned that sweet orange bike? That looks great, I'll have to get my hands on one of those- either by getting the set or Bricklinking it! Edited June 8, 2008 by Canticleer blues Quote

That looks great, I'll have to get my hands on one of those- either by getting the set or Bricklinking it! Soo ive asked this before but no-one anwsered it [i think] so is the orange bike an exclusive? Sorry if this has been said before Also i like that smaller CG chopper too bad its in such a pricey set so i probable wont get it Edited June 8, 2008 by Darth_Legois_619 Quote
Mocha Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 the coast guard truck and boat is actually cheaper in europe than in Canada and US in canada the coast guard truck and boat cost the same as the helicopter and raft... I live in canada so its a rip-off for me... Quote
Asuka Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 That CG platform looks like a pretty playable set indeed. It reminds me also (a little ) on that oil rig from the Bond movie Diamonds Are Forever, and could work well as some setup for the Agents line.... sweet! That oil rig-like one looks reaaally good, but probably too expensive in England. Bah. Well, TLC did, again, a pretty good job on creating a fine set even with the use of a lot of bigger and '<insert that tiresome argument>' parts like these orange bridge pieces. So that set shouldn´t become that expensive everywhere, hopefully.... Quote

So that set shouldn´t become that expensive everywhere, hopefully.... Isn't that whats great about parts like the bridge pieces? When we first saw the bridge pieces in 7900, no one thought they would be any goodfor anything but bridges. Really glad to see TLC coming up with great uses for these peices. Over all i think the design is great! i do wish the dock at the bottom was a bit bigger to dock the large CG ship, and the boat from 7726. I'm also posibbly need to make the heli pad bigger to acomadate the larger 7738 CG helicopter. Oh well. Still a good set! Quote
Canticleer blues Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 Darth Legois 619: Yeah, whung said those were promos, so basically they're exclusives. No worries though, if you can't find them, then you could always try Bricklink Quote

If an ambassador could help, that would be great.Coastguard Hovercraft. Regards, VBBN, General You mean there will be a CG Hovercraft set, VBBN?! That would be if it isn't as big as the one of the fire theme but in a medium size! Klaus-Dieter Quote
metalandi Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 that would be greath, though i hope it will be designed better than the fire HC then! Quote
