metalandi Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 The Coast Guard Platform is now available at S@H in Europe for 69,99 € Quote
The Rancor Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 I actually think the UK price is quite cheap considering the size of the set (not piece count ) Quote
metalandi Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 How much is it in pounds? Anyway, i just ordered it along with the helicopter. i just must have these sets Quote
Dr. Brick Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 The Coast Guard Platform is now available at S@H in Europe for 69,99 € Only € 59,99 in Belgium... Dr. Brick Quote
metalandi Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 It's only £45 in the UK!!! Only € 59,99 in Belgium...Dr. Brick What the heck?! Now that's really strange....it seems they are megablocking up something with the exchange curses at s@h. It's the same with the death star which costs exactly as much euros as it costs dollars in the USA. Quote
The Cobra Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 49.99 €uros for Italy. I can HARDLY believe we have the cheapest price! Too bad I don't like the set that much. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Thank you very much for this information, metalandi! It's ununchallenged a great set! Perhaps I'll buy it since I surely won't buy the 10188 DS (that's the money not worth) - but nevertheless I'll firstly wait for news of next year's City and SW OT sets - and then I'll decide. BTW: Did you notice that the platform is only marked with the note "new" but not "exclusive" or "hard to find". Does this mean that it'll be available in "normal" toyshops, too (I thought it is only an airline promo) or not? (That would be much better in order to have not to pay for shipping. ) Here it is:http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=328987 (when moderated) Dr. Brick EDIT: Sorry I have to do it through a link but I'm afraid that the normal didn't work for some reason... Thank you for the picture, Dr. Brick! Klaus-Dieter Quote
metalandi Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 I think it won't be an exclusive set, cause it even was first available at a store in france. So i assume it will be available everywhere. It's a shame that the shipping from S@H always takes so damn lonk..i hope i'll get it before next weekend, then i'll make a review! Quote
mandalore Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 that horrible awful cruddy sea plane makes me depressed the coast guard HQ set is so amazingly good i thought lego was starting to perfect the city theme but now i realize all they have is a sub-theme thats good :( i dont think city will ever be very good so if i were you i`d buy coast guard sets while there here cause they might replace them with crap like this the truck thing is also horrible and i just dont get why we need a stupid sea plane if theres a coast guard??? it makes no sense at all Quote
metalandi Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 How many city sets do you kno? I guess not many, ause there were amazing ones coming out the last couple years, only as en example the new police HQ. And what truck are you talking about? Try to explain all this a bit more, otherwise it just seems you are bitchin' out of fun. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 (edited) Here's a new and absolutely amazing City set: 4999 Vestas Wind Power Plant  . Many thanks to Kanal-K1 for that information! Klaus-Dieter Edited July 14, 2008 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Lord Santos Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I love that windmill and the coast guard platform is 50€ on my TRU in Lisbon... Quote
metalandi Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 i got the platform and the helicopter today, and i recoginized this tile is PRINTED: as far as i know these have been stickers in the past years sets, so it's great! Anyway, there are plenty of stickers for the coast guard patterns and so on, so no need to freak out. Just wanted to mention that. Quote
Darth_Legois Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 as far as i know these have been stickers in the past years sets, so it's great! Anyway, there are plenty of stickers for the coast guard patterns and so on, so no need to freak out. Just wanted to mention that. If you mean you think those pieces have been stickers in the past sets your wrong, ive gotten the fire station, police station [7744],2006 advent calender with one in it, 2007 Advent calender with 1 in it. And NONE of those had stickers on them, i dont even think those stickers exist. Quote
metalandi Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Yes, you are right. actually i noticed that afterwards, cause i wasn't really sure. So i took a look at my fire HQ and recognized it. nevermind. Quote
legomilk Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 LEGO - 7724 LEGO City Adventskalender Oktober 2008 18,99 € Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 (edited) Thank you very much for the price information, legomilk! 19 Euros is quite a lot of money - but on the other hand there are so many nice things included in it that it is justified to cost more than the advent calendars if the last years . The Cobra Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I don't know how things work in Germany, but here in Italy shopping malls have toys 5-40% off in December. So I hope I won't be paying more than 17 €uros for this (and, more likely, for the Castle advent calendar!) Quote
Hotshot Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 (edited) is this ting new? Edited July 18, 2008 by Hotshot Quote
Lord Santos Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Very cool, but it belongs to Dacta, so not available. Brickset link... Quote
Wild Zontar Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Wow these sets look amazing! I like the coast guard bike the best. Quote
metalandi Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Just surfed over brickshelf and came across whung's folder once again, seeing he got a few proper pictures of the advent calendar contents now, check it out: Quote
Tenorikuma Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 (edited) I picked up the Coast Guard Platform the other day, and I have to say, I'm quite impressed with it. The price-per-piece ratio is not exactly ideal, but it's a well-designed set with a ton of playability and great pieces, including those extremely rare struts and pillars. Construction is easy and fun, especially compared to the Exo-force tank I assembled the other day that was complete drudgery. The helicopter in this set is much more nicely designed than helicopters from previous years -- I like the pontoons in particular -- and the piece for it come in a separate bag with a separate instruction booklet, so those of you buying this set for parts could sell off the chopper as a separate model.
