Batbrick Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 No thanks for the pictures Vader! :-P Seriously, these sets are horrible, atleast the oversized passenger planes were accurate, this thing would never get off the Water! :-X It is so stubby and fat and ugly! >:-( :-X The truck aint as bad and as some have pointed out is a great parts pack, but the crappy building and overall design will prevent me from buying it! >:-( Atleast now I can spend money on other themes, but apparently the Police Station is meant to be a good set so don't give up hope yet! :'-( TTFN! >:-) Quote
Darth_Legois Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Yup looks like i'l be the only one here collecting the police line more for me heheheheheh :-P ;-) i might get the plane only if im bored have spare cash and i've already gotten the other police sets........ Quote
Joebot Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Does anybody know what the little building is supposed to even be? Is it a small police station? Some kind of seige tower? There's a barricade sticking out the side of it; maybe it's a toll booth? As least we town fans have that nifty yellow Creator house to look forward to. Quote

X-D Plus the truck could easily be converted into a surveillance (like the one on MI:3) or swat vehicle. Darth Legois, what do you think of the truck then? I agree with Joebot, don't forget the masterpeice that is the Holiday House! TTFN! >:-) Edited October 4, 2007 by Batbrick Quote
hollisbrick Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Woah that plane is really cool! The truck is good if it has printed parts and if does i might pick him up! Quote
Vader Posted October 4, 2007 Author Posted October 4, 2007 Woah that plane is really cool! The truck is good if it has printed parts and if does i might pick him up! Hate to tell you this but it dosen't look like it has printed parts to me, i think it's going to be stickers again...thank god i wont be buying it. Quote
Asuka Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 The truck seems very mediocre to me, but at least it Quote
5150 Lego Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 besides, why would you wanna have a police truck this size in your town? :-| Cause its more realistic. Quote
Darth_Legois Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 (edited) ___________Well I'm glad someone here enjoyed them even if I didn't :-) Darth Legois, what do you think of the truck then? Im not the only "sane" person here lol X-D i love the truck because i didnt pick up the Police Truck from 2004 I like it i mainly like the blue YESSSS!!!!!!! Now i can do Australian Police Cars not German or American ect...... Edited October 5, 2007 by Darth_Legois_619 Quote
phoinix Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 (edited) Cause its more realistic. realistic? lego isnt supposed to be realistic! its supposed to show us the world through its eyes. its not the real world.. trains are not so small.. buildings have back walls and a cup isnt as big as my torso.. this isnt about realism it has never been and never will be.. the reason i dont like this its because it looks like playmobil and while i find playmo to be great i dont like it that much to collect it and playmo goes deep into realism with many details and features of the real world.. but lego never went so far before... they did it last year with the planes and alhough realism is ok for a toy like playmo lego is about the brick and connected bricks can never look so realistic.. when lego tried to achieve the realism of playmo ended up with a huge plane hull that most of us hate.. and this is what a lego modern sea plane should look like hope the rest of the line is better.. Aussietrooper Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 I think these sets will be great to the city set, but they should have made a police helicopter that are used in our world. Quote
iamded Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Police planes like this are used when criminals try to get away via boat, and if they were to out run the police boats the police plane could cut it off. It's not for fighting air pirates. :-P The truck set looks neat, awesome little ATV and the toll booth isn't bad either. And I could always do with a surveillance van. Quote
Brick Miner Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Police planes like this...i have never seen a police aircraft like this... if anyone has a reference photo i'd love to see it. to me, this thing seems totally made up. i don't know why the police have a commercial size aircraft for catching criminals.again, i don't get it *wacko* - BM Quote
Shadows Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 So many wonderful sets ... and then this. Just when you thought they'd figured it all out, they remind us how bad they can be. Oh well, I didn't want more cops anyway. Quote
legobear Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 (edited) Firstly, who said "no thanks" to Vader? We all should be on our knees thanking him for all this info, it's not his fault that LEGO crapped on us lol. Thanks Vader, seriously, we love to hear fresh news. My personal view is that the Truck's front is quite nasty looking, seriously give it a look....all other fronts looks better than it: airport firetruck, ambulance, recycle truck, cement truck etc. That plane HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! My best guess is that "well little kids like big things," what are we going to do lol. The giant cargo plane a majority of us ( quite a lot if you read the forums ) think it's CRAP! The police plane.....*drum roll* verdict says it's CRAP from most of us. Now for the little cargo plane, oh I'm scared alright, I'm scarreeeed :'-( 2/3 planes = no good, what are the chances guys that the lil cargo plane will win our hearts? Anyone here ever taken statistics?? :'-( I haven't and I'm already coughing out blood. Edited October 5, 2007 by legobear Quote
Hewman Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 I like the surveillance truck, I'm a fan of any vehicle you can open up and play with on the inside, kind of reminds me of my old classic space 6927 set in that way (not that they look at all alike) Quote
snefroe Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Does anybody know what the little building is supposed to even be? i was thinking about that as well. i guess it's an entrance to the police parking lot or something. in any case, it reminded me of the city sets at the end of the 90's, more or less a jack stone kinda thing... Hope lego reps read this topic and decide not to push these two sets into the catalogue. Quote

But don't lose it people! remember, every year has some poor sets, practically every other set that we have seen for 08 is great, so 2008 is still ON! *sweet* TTFN! >:-) Quote
Shadows Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 You know, it's important in life to give things a second chance. Don't just assume that because you don't like it the first time, you won't the second. You could miss out on a lot of great things that way. I looked at these sets earlier and felt a churning in my stomach as it tried to kill me, as opposed to allowing me to buy such horrible sets. :-X Being fair, however, I've come back to look again. They still suck. *n* Oh well, can't win them all. Quote

I do agree that you should give things a second chance though *y* Apparently the new police station is built like the recent firestation which is a good thing, but who knows, that police truck does have good parts atleast. :-) TTFN! >:-) Quote
Darth_Legois Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 (edited) Like i said earlier i dont mind if no one else likes these there will be more for me :-P , Why everyone always has to look at the negative |-/ theres lots of good things about that new Police Truck but you wont notice them if you just think awww i dont like the new colour or aw why did they put that little booth thing in the set now its going to raise the price ect :-| ....................atleast some people noticed the good things in it........................... :-| Edited October 5, 2007 by Darth_Legois_619 Quote

Brick Miner Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 thanks for trying asuka :-) Shame LEGO didn't use it as a reference. :'-(yes, that plane looks nothing like the huge airliner LEGO produced here. i could imagine an aircraft that size... it just makes more sense.- BM Quote
Stealth Hunter Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 thanks for trying asuka :-) yes, that plane looks nothing like the huge airliner LEGO produced here. i could imagine an aircraft that size... it just makes more sense. - BM That plane is really too big! I would maybe look cool as a military plane ,but not as a police plane :-X ! Kick that plane out of the catalouge ,but truck on! Quote
