trooperdavinfelth Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 I wonder, is part of the Troll's torso a brick? Because one piece has two studs on it, and if I'm not mistaken, I've never seen it before. Could you possibly take a pic of the dismantled Troll, i.e., the Troll taken apart as far as can be? :'-) Btw, welcome to EB, Navy Trooper Fenson! Quote

WesternOutlaw Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 I picked up one of these sets today at Target. I must say that it is a neat set. I was surprised to see that the dwarves do not have new faces. It doesn't matter though, because the faces are hidden behind their beards. I love the workings of the mine, esp. the large stone/iron wheel with the hoist. I also like the mine cars. Overall, I enjoyed the build and can't wait to get some more dwarves and orcs. Great set! WesternOutlaw Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Any chance this will be turned into a Gravestone set? Maybe. I love the dark green mining cars, good supply of track, and the orc faces. These are some great elements for a spooky mine. Honestly, I've tried building a few haunted mines over the past few years, but have been very unsuccessful. That's another topic though. Quote
natelite Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 He already has on his site, you will see a dismantled troll. His torso is only one peice, but has two studs on it ;-) great...those two hands look like they can be added to the EF mechs. :-P bionic mecha on! target in my area still doesn't have this set in stock. crap. Siegfried Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 great...those two hands look like they can be added to the EF mechs. :-P That was my first thought! *sweet* Quote

Lord Of Pies Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 This set looks nice! Thanks for the review Hinckley, I will get it one day! I only have around 2 or 3 castle sets, so this is a good way to expand my collection! Quote
Corvus Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 This set is now on LEGO S@H for the US. Thanks for the info. Maybe now I can stop wasting gas checking my Target every day. :-P Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Dang it! Why is it not on the UK S@H! America gets the sets cheaper, and they get them first! |-/ Oh well..... Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 *deafening applause* AT LAST! TIME TO CHECK TARGET! So, all this time, my gas has been guzzled in vain. :'-( But it's out! *huzzahs ensue from the crowd* And so is the Tie Crawler! 8- Quote
Batbrick Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Still not on S@H australia |-/ Does anyone know how long it usually takes for the set to become available worldwide? Can't wait for those Dwarves! :'-) TTFN! >:-) Quote
Piranha Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 (edited) To Buy or Not to Buy?That is the Question. :-D 2 troll warriors, a giant troll Yup they are NOT Goblins,Orcs or Ogres!!! :'-) I'm So Happy!! Now back to Buy or Not to Buy!! Piranha Edited October 16, 2007 by Piranha Quote
Starwars4J Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Does anyone have any idea why they went over to the metallic silver euroarmor for this set, instead of the crappy pearl silver euroarmor that they've used so far? (maybe some of that fine dwarf craftsmanship? ;-)). Also, if this is the case on plain armor, any idea if the Impulse sets will also feature the metallic-silver euroarmor? I hope so, it's wonderful together with the metallic silver visor for my Falcon Knight Generals *wub* Quote

TheFrisian Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 It's my guess that the armor in the Impulse set is similar to that in the Dwarfs Mine, since they are both unprinted. Quote

Well they do get them cheaper, however europe gets sets before the US at times. It's frustrating as hell that's for sure but i guess it evens its self out over a year. :-/ Quote

I hope so, it's wonderful together with the metallic silver visor for my Falcon Knight Generals *wub* i don't know but you should hush just in case it was a production mistake and if they start reading this they might wise up and switch back. :-P edit: drat - wished 2007 sets' armors were also made of metallic silver. :-P now i gotta replace all those pearl armors. Come to think of it... that's probably the reason they used pearl silver for the Knights faction in the first place, the metallic silver isn't printable! Makes me wonder what you all would've preferred: unprinted metallic silver armour or printed pearl silver armour for the Knights faction? Quote
Hinckley Posted October 16, 2007 Author Posted October 16, 2007 Makes me wonder what you all would've preferred: unprinted metallic silver armour or printed pearl silver armour for the Knights faction? Methinks that question is worthy of a poll! :-P Quote
