ZeekyBoogeyDoog Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Lovely stern! You ships always have the most realistically shaped sterns I've seen in Lego ships. I also am amazed how well you do the riggings on your ships. Great job *y* ! Quote
Captain K. Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Very beautiful ship. It has many beautiful details. I like the stern, that am beautifully converted. Is that Capt. green hair? A mad type is the man. Capt. K. Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted October 7, 2007 Governor Posted October 7, 2007 Arrr she looks really good with sails captain! What are those sails made out of? Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted October 7, 2007 Author Posted October 7, 2007 Arrr she looks really good with sails captain! What are those sails made out of? It's an old ikea curton, looks very similar to broadcloth. I've weathered it in hot water with coffee and tea, then i smeared it in completely with white gleu. When that's dry, i've ironed them. The stripes are simply made with a drawing pencil. Quote
Capn Frank Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 (edited) See my previous post Predh :-D Oh my! 8- Edited October 7, 2007 by phred Quote
Scouty Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Ah, a marvelous ship! I like how it's using the skinny hull! The rigging is lovely and fits in well. The back is really good, and reminds me of a good small frigate. The cannon placement looks cool (the picture). There's alot of nice vibarant detail placed into this ship. Great job :-) ! Edit: Awsome sails! Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted October 7, 2007 Author Posted October 7, 2007 (edited) Oh yeah and it's Captain Pretyienthsdi; to you :-P I'll have to try that technique, sounds real similar to evil willy's too. (i better hurry up and post this before this post is obsolete X-D ) P Captain Pretyienthsdi??????????? What language is that? Yes, Evil Willy brought me to the idea to use white gleu Edited October 8, 2007 by Bonaparte Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 (edited) What I really like about this ship is: the rigging (Great work! I don't agree with Mr. Hairy Ruben, your rigging looks much better than the original piece used by Lego :-P ), the sails and the stern (Very realistic! I've always had problems with sterns myself!). What I don't like so much is the middle part of the hull and how the black bricks contrast with the grey hull pieces - it's too abrupt and the three layers of black bricks look too "pixelized" (I can't find a better word) in contact with the grey. Lego themselves found a nice solution to this problem by putting one layer in different colour between the two black layers - note the white layer in the Black Seas Barracuda. Perhaps you should try the same? But that's just a minor drawback, apart from that it's a great ship! Edited October 8, 2007 by Dreamweb Quote

Dreamweb Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Thanks, i don't like the grey stripe neither, but it's just there and i can't take it out... Actually you can. The black top hull part from the Flying Time Vessel instead of the grey one should look better :) Quote

Dreamweb Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 It's screwed on right? Right. The trick is to separate them for the first time, after that it's easy to put them together and apart again. Quote
