Nice Stuff!

But I thing is sure:

That guy is breaking the authorty rule of LEGO!

What guy? What are you talking about? Have you payed no attention to SW4J's post a few pages back? He clearly states that no onea is in trouble! Sheesh...

You may not of asked for it but your going to get it anyway :-P ;-)

Well most castle fans are pleased with the new direction, where as most city fans are unhappy with once again getting sets that centre around a police theme. The name of the theme is CITY yet all we ever seem to get is fire, police, hospital etc sets.

It's my opinion that city needs to have a larger scope, however this dosen't seemed to of happened yet which is a shame.

Yeah, that

drat. the images are gone. "removed on lego request." anyone saved them down?

Yes I saved them before they were taken down. Im not sure if I can upload them to my brickshelf gallery, but if you wanna do so, I can send you the scans.

Ugh. Stupid Lego and their stupid paranoia. These scans are from a catalog that Lego themselves published! What did they think was going to happen to it??

Anyway ... '08 doesn't seem like it's quite matching up to the impossibly high bar set up by the '07 sets. Everything looks pretty good, but just not quite AS good.

I think what bugs me the most is that the City sets are almost exclusively vehicles (kinda like Star Wars, now that I think about it). To where are the Cargo sets delivering their packages?? Where is the postman supposed to drop off a package?? There's no buildings!! I guess at the police station, huh?

And they changed the police logo AGAIN! I was going to slap together a quick history of all the different police logos over the years, but I just couldn't muster up the energy.

They were gone before I got there, so are the sets going to be on the front page? That is what Eurobricks is famous for!

I really would like to see a poll on 4 stud vehicles versus 6 wide studded vehicles on eurobrick.

I am absolutely shocked that they created a 4 wide studded cargo car, plane, and police helicopter. I know that some of you purest city and town fans, love these 4 wide studded vehicles but I'm new to City and I also *wub* love them too. More is not always better but this is what they advertise at Lego. For instance, "this vehicle is 9 inches!!" Therefore I truly appreciate that they created these 4 stud wide vehicles. The direction I'm hoping that Lego takes is the Japanese approach: small, efficient (fun), expensive - with the latter taken out lol. I love mini tech (ipod nano etc), and these mini classic cars and planes that are coming out this year. With that, I give this the best year for city, better than 2007, hands down.

If you guys go out and buy the 2008 cargo plane and car sets like they are the last sets Lego will ever make, It is almost certain that more "cargo" sets will come out. It is almost dead certain that they will expand to other themes (not just police) because they see a market for it. Therefore to all my lego friends *wub* BUY BUY BUY :'-) BUY like it is your last year alive :-P I want more varied sets and this is how we support them :-$

Phew, I guess I managed to catch them just in time.

But, honestly, you think Lego would be happy to have publication early, so the buyers get caught up in the hype. I know we say this every year, but the point still stands. All they manage in doing by withdrawing the images is set back people deciding what to purchase.

any one else thinks this was a marketing trick from Lego? i mean, they just kept it online for a limited period to get a decent load of opinions, good and bad, to boost the excitement about the 2008 catalog, without really risking anything in the process... |-/
