MaxSupercars Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Ouuu... I would never disassemble such great trailer... but I know why you did it... it is not possible to store great amount of models... Don't be worry about video... it could be seen a lot from it... today's cameras and smartphones are better and it is possible to make quality video than befor and play more by recording... Yeah... 3 stage stacking trailer would be great but I don't know if is it possible with Lego... It would be too high I think... But you should definitely build it! It's a such big challenge! Your models are beautifull... :) Max... Edited November 12, 2015 by MaxSupercars Quote
Lego Dino 500 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 (edited) What about a tower crane? A decently detailed and functional crane could go for maybe $75 or $100 and be around 3 or 4 feet tall. On another note, it'd be cool to see some micro scale construction equipment and vehicles all to the same scale. But something else I'd like to see would be a big ultra detailed diesel locomotive would be cool, and it could easily be 1/33 to 1/38 and use the same Lego Train track for display. A 1/33 scale model would be around 2 1/4 feet long, and have a length of around 70 studs depending on the design process. And that could easily go for around $75 or less, and it would appeal to Train and Technic junkies alike. Edited November 13, 2015 by Lego Dino 500 Quote

Yeah I know, I wasn't thinking straight I guess... That is also true, it is impossible to keep them all assembled, but this one should deserve a spot somewhere... You are right about the video, these days so much better indeed! You probably are right, that is basically the reason I did not start yet. This company has so much more great trailers to build, so there will be one someday definitely!!! A little of topic, but this one was build by me as well (jump to 1:00 to see what it "does": Mine: What about a tower crane? I am not that sure a diesel locomotive mainly because there are not that much functions to Technify...IMHO. It is still impressive, that is for sure! Quote

nerdsforprez Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Would love to see a fully functional Technic windmill. Would also like to see some actually floating watercraft, perhaps something like a dredger or a sailboat. Be cool to see a large wind turbine, like you said. One of the common applications of big mobile cranes; to lift the blades of such turbines to their mounting points. Agreed, I would love to see this..... Quote

Old windmills have quite intricate and large scale internal mechanics, that could be recreated to a high degree in Technic LEGO. Edited November 13, 2015 by Kelkschiz Quote

It is still impressive, that is for sure! I'd say it could have as many possible functions as the Super Cars. Gear box, movable piston engine, detailed interior, doors, couplers, locks, and possibly a turbine snow plow. Keep in mind this would be a $50-$75 set theoretically, at that price level all you get is independent suspension, HOG steering, and a piston engine. This wouldn't be a fully blown out $250 set with crazy amounts of functions. But it would be sweet to get a line of Technic trains, or provide a few alt models. You could turn it into a shunting engine with a MOW crew and construction equipment, a ballast tamper, or possibly a crocodile engine. Quote

Did not look at it this way, thanks for enlightening me!!! I was thinking about an old one. Old windmills have quite intricate and large scale internal mechanics, that could be recreated to a high degree in Technic LEGO. Agree with for 100%. Not sure wether it is broadly appreciated but the technical aspect of it could indeed be recreated to a high degree in Technic LEGO®! Quote
Rijkvv Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 I doubt a gearbox would be realistic in a locomotive. Mainline diesel locomotives almost always either drive a hydraulic pump (diesel-hydraulic) or a dynamo (diesel-electric) and rarely use a gearbox. It would be nice to see some sort of crop-spraying machine. I would like to see (or build) a self-propelled one, but a towed one could be interesting as well. A sort of successor of 8849. Quote

Rishab N Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 I'd love to see a rally car, a Nascar racer, or a DTM racer Lots of stickers on all of these, but they could be fun for kids and AFOLs Quote
Imanol BB Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 I think that maybe the best choice would be the rally car, because it would have more functional elements than the other ones (larger shock absorbers, maybe 4WD elements...), and also it wouldnt be just another normal car, and who knows, it would be great if it has some stickers of real life sponsors (not that lot of the picture, but maybe a few). Brick-Nick Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 I really like the idea of a TBM, a pile driving rig and a spider crane ! Any thoughts on : - A winchcat groomer : - a garbage truck Or a Fire truck with ladder : Quote
schraubedrin Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 There has been a snow groomer as medium sized model: 8263 It's a great model, got me through my statistics exam Quote

paul_delahaye Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 (edited) It is definitely odd that in the city lineup, Lego see police and fire as required to be released every year, but as soon as the child is old enough for Technic, boom, no more interest in fire and police.... The engine with ladder is a good one. We have definitely only seen a few fire and police ever in the Technic lineup over the years. Paul Edited May 24, 2016 by paul_delahaye Quote
nicjasno Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 I'd love to see a bus and/or a delivery van (fwd, transverse drivetrain, sliding doors..., b models would be same fron end with flat bed and/or crew cab). Quote
Kelkschiz Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 A large scale Volvo Ocean Race sailing boat would be cool Absolutely, a fully functional sailboat would be awesome. Once I tried to submit something like that on LEGO ideas, but the they won't accept custom sails and a sailboat without sails... Quote

Kelkschiz Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 (edited) Lego Pirates ships have sails, so why not a Lego Technic sailboat with sails? Absolutely something I looked at at the time but none of the existing LEGO sails come anywhere near what I would like to see on a ship that actually has to sail. My own LEGO sailboat has ripstop nylon sails which is a material that is well suited to be used in sails. I would wager that making a similar sail out of LEGO sails wouldn't produce a sail that works half as well. I am afraid that I am kind of a perfectionist when it comes to such things. veryrusty Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 What about a large scale engine? Something where the actual valves and timing belt and such are simulated. Quote
