Time to unveil my latest creation, the crawler crane. Years ago I saw a nat. geo. documentary on a station in the south pole. During the construction of it, there was a crawler crane with a three section boom. Fast forward to April 2015, I built a three section boom for a crawler crane but due to having too many projects, it was never finished. When I saw the crane competition I realized that this was the perfect opportunity to make a crawler crane.

Raising/lowering:

Why you have used XL motor for extending the boom?

8 normal gears plus one worm gear. It was the only way to make it this compact.

I think that 8 gears would allow to make reduction and use M motor for that function.

Well I really needed to use my m motor for the superstructure rotation due to size constraints.
