Sariel Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I just wanted to have some 8x8 to test my 4-speed sequential transmission with, and somehow ended up with this 4 kg monster: Photos & reading, as usual: http://sariel.pl/2015/11/rosomak-wzt/ There are also free instructions for the transmission, should you want to build it: http://sariel.pl/2015/04/4-speed-compact-sequential-transmission-v11/ Quote
SevenStuds Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Excellent as always! Its a beast! The dual camera setup is working really nicely with the frame in video. Quote
Tommy Styrvoky Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) I'm surprised the differentials held up in such a large vehicle, I would think that the single bevel gears would fail under high torque, as I had several of the older 12z gray gears single bevel gears break teeth under strain. Also why does it say on your website that it has the same information as the peacemaker on the information at the top of the article for this? Edited November 2, 2015 by Tommy Styrvoky Quote
Sariel Posted November 2, 2015 Author Posted November 2, 2015 Sorry, fixed that error at my website. I think the reason why the bevel gears survived is that there were just 2 PF XL motors and not for example 4. More torque would certainly result in damage. Quote
A Gallifreyan Cat Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Beautiful MOC. I really like the opening doors and all the details on the body. Quote
pluto7443 Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Is it possible to build this transmission using the older driving rings? It looks like the newer ones are longer. Quote
Saberwing40k Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 It's surprisingly fast and capable for such a large machine. I'm just surprised you haven't broken any u joints or anything like that. And, as always, love the hamster. Quote
Kiwi_Builder Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Is it possible to build this transmission using the older driving rings? It looks like the newer ones are longer. Yes it is, and when Sariel first posted this gearbox I created an LDD with the old driving rings. You can download that here: Sariel's 4 Speed RC Gearbox 1.1 Using 2-Wide Driving Rings.lxf Quote
falconluan Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Great MOC as always Your sequential gear box has been tested working great on my MINI countryman  It lacks the ability to switch gear without cutting the power for some time, but its efficiency and compact and robustness are very impressive! Victor Imaginator Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Sweet MOC. I really enjoy the video. Just a little bit more of lifting - and it will fit into TC8) Quote
Sariel Posted November 3, 2015 Author Posted November 3, 2015 It lacks the ability to switch gear without cutting the power for some time, but its efficiency and compact and robustness are very impressive! Thanks, I'm thinking of some kind of a clutch that would allow to shift on the run. Quote
MaxSupercars Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Great build Pavel as always... I will probably test your gearbox in my next bigger MOC... Max... Quote
