Clone OPatra Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 There's only so much you can discuss about a LEGO set without delving into discussing the film it's based on... If you 'run out' of things to say about the set, then stop posting! Nobody's telling you to post.A discussion of why people are or are not looking forward to the film does not belong here, end of story. Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 That white brick looks nice. Doesn't that white brick look nice? Especially the way it's white. Quote

It appears you missed the part of my post where I said: 'if you have nothing to say, don't post.'Trolls end up in the chamber. That is all. Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 (edited) Right...so we can't talk about the film, we can't talk about the set because it's trolling. What exactly can we talk about then? If you keep enforcing strict/unclear rules like this, the forum's going to die. How's anyone supposed to find anything to discuss in any thread? There's only so many times people can have discussions about a set's appearance. Edited February 26, 2016 by LEGODalekbuster523 Quote
CM4Sci Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 We can discuss the positive and negative, un-film-related qualities of the set..! Personally I love the set. It's got great figures, a nice build, and a ton of new and exciting pieces! All things I love in sets. I will definitely be picking this up and putting it next to my GBHQ. Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 We can discuss the positive and negative, un-film-related qualities of the set..! We've already discussed that! Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 I realize that it's very hypocritical to make a post, but it's clear that you're trying to keep a stagnant topic running by posting things which have little value due to their already being said. I like the set, too, but for a press-revealed one, the potential for discussion ran out quickly. Quote
x105Black Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 I might pick this one up to go with my other Ecto-1. I don't have the Headquarters (and likely won't), but if I did it would look nice to have both cars next to it. As it is, I would like to have my 4 original Ghostbusters use 2 cars instead of just 1. gotoAndLego Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 (edited) If the film has the same creativity and humor but a different plot, it may become more popular than GB 2... Ten people liking it would make it more popular than GB2. Edited February 26, 2016 by gotoAndLego Quote
legonerd54321 Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Ten people liking it would make it more popular than GB2. Am I the only person that likes the sequel? Sure, it's more kid friendly, but hey, it's Ghostbusters. Im getting this set, there's just too much to pass up on this set. Quote
Actor Builder Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Is anyone going to buy two HQ sets so they can house both Ectos? Quote
Captain Pirate Man Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Am I the only person that likes the sequel? Sure, it's more kid friendly, but hey, it's Ghostbusters. Im getting this set, there's just too much to pass up on this set. I'm scared to talk about the films in this thread now, lol. But since YOU brought it up... I like GB2. I think it gets unfair criticism. Sure it's not as good as the first, but most sequels are not. Its has some good things in it, really good imo. Vego is a quality villian, slime blowers are cool, and the river of slime/ mood slime thing is cool. Making the statue of liberty walk, kinda lame. If the original is a 10/10 (which I believe it is) I give GB2 7.5/10. Still a solid sequel. Sorry back on topic. Quote
Actor Builder Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 (edited) Captain Pirate Man, I would be much obliged if you would kindly and subtly implement the use of Spoiler Tags next time you plan to deploy a spoiler. Especially in the set discussion thread. I personally don't care, even though I hadn't seen it, but others might. So is anyone planning to buy three HQs to use as a giant Fire Station in their city? Edited February 27, 2016 by Actor Builder Quote
x105Black Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 I loved Ghostbusters 2. The Ghostbusters thing I want LEGO to make the most is a Vigo the Carpathian minifigure. Quote

I want a Gozer as well. We are so close from being to recreate those two films now, just need a Gozer, Vego, and Stay Puft. Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 So is anyone planning to buy three HQs to use as a giant Fire Station in their city? Not unless there's any millionaires on here. Quote
Brickity Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 (edited) The ecto looks very nice, I love vehicles where you can actually put 4 minifigures. My life was like, being able to put one minifig only, or even, another minifig behind at most. And woah that black minifig is great, unfortunately I can't say the same about Hemsworth who, indeed, looks like Phillip Seymour (rest in peace) I wish I could say I'd buy this, but, growing up has stopped me from buying so much LEGO :'( The passion is simply going away. Unless you were making a large firehouse moc, but other than that, the set is good enough for any lego city how it is. Quote
Actor Builder Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 ...Unless you were making a large firehouse moc... Precisely the question I was asking. Fire Stations are often multiple buildings near each other, so I was wondering if any CITY fans went a bit HQ crazy and are making a huge fire station. Alas, I suppose that technically should reside in the HQ thread, so I'll be leaving this thread because I have naught to say about this set anymore. Quote

It's alright if you have the money but otherwise I think anybody considering it should binge-watch the Martin Lewis Money Show. Quote

For one? Or buying more than 1? Because any fan of Ghostbusters and Lego, this seems like a MUST have IMO. I can't wait to get mine on Tuesday. But like I said, I have NO desire to buy another one. CM4Sci Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Please explain how this works. Uh.. buy a set, and you get double the VIP points it's worth. So if you buy a GBHQ, you get about 700 Points = $35 Quote
