legonerd54321 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) "Official" Press release, Look at that villain! https://www.yahoo.co...-155945480.html Edited February 5, 2016 by legonerd54321 Quote
flailx Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Wow. This is a great looking set! I love the working doors and that they all fit in properly. Love the wheels too! I'm not real excited about this reboot but I'm probably getting this set. Quote
CM4Sci Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Why is every single good licensed set $60... Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Wow, this set looks fantastic. I especially love the Abby Yates minfigure, which looks EXACTLY like Melissa McCarthy. Wonder what that Red Daemon is about? The reboot's take on Gozer and the Terror Dogs perhaps? Quote
K-Nut Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 The minifigs look absolutely fantastic, though I wish the Firehouse figures had some dual molded legs too. As I already have an Ecto 1 and this one doesn't seem all too different, I'll most likely give this set a pass. Quote
Dorayaki Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 The new car rocks and the ladies look so gorgeous!! My musthave among all LEGO licesned sets this year Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) Wow! I'm completely sold on this set and the movie! I love the ghost/demon, and the new 'Busters have some great parts! THREE new hairpieces! I love it. Good job, set. I think I'm legitimately interested in the reboot now. Edited February 5, 2016 by 8BrickMario Quote
CM4Sci Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Hey, the blonde lady gets two torsos; one with the belt and one without. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 She may actually get another head too-- one photo shows a head with no glasses whatsoever. Strange. I do think it's a bit weird that only two of the Ghostbusters have molded boots. Either way, I absolutely love this set. Quote
strangely Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) Don't care for the franchise or the set itself but I have to say the minifigures all came out wonderfully. Glad to be able to add so much diversity to my female minifigures in terms of head and hair. Especially glad to get heads with glasses and such detailed hairpieces (Especially love Leslie Jones hairpiece, excellent detail). Won't be buying the set, but I'll definitely be tracking down all the heads and hairpieces. Side-note this is the first time in a while I've seen them give a blonde female character blonde eyebrows, usually they just use black. Edited February 5, 2016 by strangely Quote
Umbra-Manis Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Well, this is a bit wacky. The piece i want the most would be the demon gargoyle horns. Quote
Falconfan1414 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) Wow! I really like this set. I like how we get chris hemsworth's character in this set, would not have expected that. And he comes with a possessed head! Edited February 5, 2016 by Falconfan1414 Quote
wilson3a10 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) Fantastic hairpieces and car Edited February 5, 2016 by wilson3a10 Quote
K_Tiger Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 The team figures are pretty cool, but I'm not impressed with the ghost/demon, though his wings and head piece might make for an interesting Lavaria mod. I'm not gonna pretend I'm a supporter of this reboot, but maybe I can see my way clear to get this one. Build it and the Ideas Ecto-1 at the same time, or maybe scavenge parts to MOC some kind of flying Ecto-2. Quote
HawkLord Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 A ton of printing and two extra minifigures compared to the original Ecto-1 for $10 more, that's not a bad deal. Quote
Kez Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 This looks ace, can't wait for the new film too! Yet another set to add to the list. Aren't we also expecting to see the new headquarters in Lego version too? If so I can see it being revealed at the NYCC. Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 As long as the film isn't too overt and over-the-top in its humor, then it'll be a worthy successor. Because this set has totally sold me on the design and creativity of the film. I can't get over Holtzmann's hairpiece! The car itself is pretty snazzy, and playability-wise is far superior, with seating for all and storage. It seems more like a limousine than a hearse, though, so scale must have been sacrificed a bit. And just when I thought my monster minifigure baseplate had been sorted out for 2016, LEGO delivers more! Quote
Airbenderfreak Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Woah, that's MUCH better than I expected. Definite purchase! Also, is this the first time sets based off a film were revealed by the director himself? Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 As long as the film isn't too overt and over-the-top in its humor, then it'll be a worthy successor. The posters suggest more of a mixture of comedy and supernatural horror like the original: http://screenrant.com/ghostbusters-2016-characters-posters/ Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Thanks. Looks like I was wrong about the car. It really is that huge! This theme seems to have a lot of promise, just like the film. Quote
rodiziorobs Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) Ghostbusters never really was my thing--neither the original nor likely the reboot, nor have I plans to pick up any of the sets/dimension packs currently available--but this set looks terrific! Good design, great figs, and a plethora of amazing parts. If I can budget it, I will get it just for parts alone! Edited February 5, 2016 by rodiziorobs Quote
LegoFjotten Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Looks great! The minifigs alone makes this a must buy for me. This theme might turn out pretty awesome if they release a full range of sets. Quote
L E G O Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Meh. Not as good as the original unless perhaps you want enhanced playability. I'll pass. Quote
