Amazing Bricks Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 (edited) Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this the first time we've ever gotten a black female minifigure? I can't remember, we might have, but I'm not sure. Storm from the marvel theme, but she had one face with the white eyes. I'd say this is one of the first normal looking black woman face we've ever gotten. Edited February 6, 2016 by amazingbricks Quote

wilson3a10 Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Damnit, Did lego mix up the collar flaps wrong on 3 of the characters. http://cdn1-www.comi...busters2016.jpg Aren't their uniform the same??? Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 (edited) I'd say these are some of the most accurate minifigures we've ever gotten. It shouldn't matter about collars, no one can ever be happy about a set. Edited February 6, 2016 by amazingbricks Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Stass Allie was the first black female, though she wasn't exactly human. I really appreciate the recent hairpieces for black people, though. Quote
strangely Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 I love the minifigures, but it does bother me a little that Kristen Wiig's character got stuck with that generic ponytail piece, it just looks off to me. The other one would have looked closer, but really none of them would be perfect as Lego doesn't have many female hairpieces with bangs. Still the other hairpieces are new, so I guess I shouldn't complain about the one that isn't. She just doesn't look quite right... Quote
Ultron Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Storm from the marvel theme, but she had one face with the white eyes. I'd say this is one of the first normal looking black woman face we've ever gotten. Well her alternate face looks perfectly normal... Quote
Actor Builder Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 The Guardians of The Galaxy Gamora face is technically black... Just with green facepaint or CG. I'm not sure which it is. Never mind me. It's green. Not black. Green. Quote
DarthBrickus Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 I have no high hopes for that movie and no love for these characters, but one has got to admire the production value in this set. The minifigs are incredibly detailed, and the car seems to be a really thought out build. Still gonna pass, as great as this set is objectively, it just doesn't click with me. Quote
deskp Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 it does bother me a little that Kristen Wiig's character got stuck with that generic ponytail piece, it just looks off to me. I agree on that that, and she is missing some personality cause of it. Quote
Sandy Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 I'm definitely waiting for this movie, as I absolutely love these comediennes, and it's great to have them in minifig form! Those new hairpieces look so lush! Quote
MAB Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 'Movie accurate'?We're talking about flipping collars! That's all different; they would be more obvious mistakes rather than nitpicks.Everything is details. They've obviously designed the torsos to match the character clothes, then got them the wrong way around. Quote
antp Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 You compare collars on one promo picture (not even movie capture), are you sure that their collars stay exactly the same through the whole movie? :p As wilson3a10 suggested above, the uniforms are most likely the same, so collars appearance are maybe not unique to each character. Quote
steveholt Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 only getting this for parts, That hemsworth hair for Cap and that African American head for Amanda Waller Quote

Yet lego went to the bother of designing them so they are different, apparently based on those promo shots. Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Two heads, one head that has the yellow goggles and yellow glasses, and one that has it without the glasses and goggles. Interesting stuff. Have LEGO ever done that before? Bizarre idea. Everything is details. They've obviously designed the torsos to match the character clothes, then got them the wrong way around. Nope, they probably just don't care if the collars match or not. It's not and never will be a big deal. Quote
KCMatze Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Captain Marvel in the new Avenjet set has 2 different heads included... Quote
x105Black Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 (edited) Nope, they probably just don't care if the collars match or not. It's not and never will be a big deal. To you. It is to others. It's all subjective. Good thing it's not a Dr. Who set, otherwise it may be you pitching a fit. Edited February 6, 2016 by x105Black Quote
wesker Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 No interest in the set or the movie but it does have some nice new parts in it. The tan Superman hair will be a useful alternative for Cap, the new bun is perfect for Princess Leia at the end of ESB and its great to finally have a generic black female head. The demonic skeleton looks pretty cool too. Quote
antp Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Yet lego went to the bother of designing them so they are different, apparently based on those promo shots. Lego designers probably had access to much more material than just that single promo shot :p Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Good thing it's not a Dr. Who set, otherwise it may be you pitching a fit. Nope, I didn't give a **** that the 11th Doctor in the Ideas set based on Time of the Doctor was the series 5 11th Doctor and not the series 7 one. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Nope, I didn't give a **** that the 11th Doctor in the Ideas set based on Time of the Doctor was the series 5 11th Doctor and not the series 7 one. Please stop the fowl language and assuming your opinion is the only one people should have. Let's please keep discussion on the set specifically everyone; not how you may or may not feel about the upcoming movie. Thanks! Quote
Borex Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 So is this the only set we'll be getting from gb reboot? Not that we need another one since this ecto is topnotch, but just being curious. Quote

LEGODalekbuster523 Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 (edited) Please stop the fowl language and assuming your opinion is the only one people should have. I know my opinion's not the only one, I'm just demonstrating the idea that the collars matching is somehow massively important is ludicrous. I should be allowed to defend LEGO against such nitpicking on a set that looks like one of their best. Edited February 6, 2016 by LEGODalekbuster523 Quote
