Sir E Fullner Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 This Friday I went to see the Peanuts Movie, and the scenes with Snoopy flying his "Sopwith Camel" gave me the inspiration to create another World War I Flying Ace: Most of the parts came from the 5925 Adventurers Pontoon Plane, with a propeller and an engine piece I found lying around. Behind the cockpit there is enough room to store a revolver and a stick of dynamite. "Curse you, Red Baron!" Feel free to post any comments or questions below. Always entertaining, always inspiring, always: Quote
Actor Builder Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Cool plane! Was The Peanuts Movie any good? Quote
deraven Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 I think that's really nice. You've captured the feel of a classic biplane very well at that scale, and it looks like a lot of fun to swoosh around, too! The handle piece as machine guns above the engine cowling is NPU. Quote
gedren_y Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 I believe this belongs in Special Themes. Quote
Sir E Fullner Posted November 8, 2015 Author Posted November 8, 2015 Cool plane! Was The Peanuts Movie any good? It was surprisingly very good. Probably the best film Blue Sky Studios has ever made. If Schulz were alive today, I'm sure he would have been proud of it. Quote
Gary The Procrastinator Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Reminds me of the old Johnny Thunder aircraft back before he was Johnny Thunder....sweet little build. Quote
Actor Builder Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 If Schulz were alive today, I'm sure he would have been proud of it. That's all I need to hear. Thanks for the tip. I really do like the plane, by the way. Quote
Sir E Fullner Posted November 9, 2015 Author Posted November 9, 2015 Reminds me of the old Johnny Thunder aircraft back before he was Johnny Thunder....sweet little build. I'll take that as a complement, since a good bit of inspiration came from the Adventurers and Orient Expedition sets. Quote
InvincibleEagle Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Reminds me of the old Johnny Thunder aircraft back before he was Johnny Thunder....sweet little build. I loved Johnny Thunder! This plane reminded me of the Adventurers sets too. Quote
