Sven J Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Hello once more, after EB member 6ix spotted it in one of my videos, I decided do present another MOC – though it’s not a great piece of art, to be honest. Just a quickie that I built when I was actually working on my 0-8-0, as I didn’t want her to feel too alone in her showcase… But perhaps one or two of you might like it nonetheless. It’s a saddle-bottomed, self-discharging ore wagon, based loosely on the DRG standard type. The side flaps are movable, but I forgot to take photos with open flaps initially. When I remembered, I had already filled the wagon with circa 1000 black 1x1 round plates, so I don’t really want to open it anymore… The model on Bricksafe, including LDD file Best wishes Sven Quote
Beck Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Great work! The trucks are very very nice! Quote
Feuer Zug Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Very nice. I've seen these occassionally when I'm on the trains. Looks very good. Quote
6ix Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 (edited) Hey, thanks man! Yes, another great life-like model, instantly recognizable. I have no idea how you manage it. My hat off to you! The side flaps are movable, but I forgot to take photos with open flaps initially. When I remembered, I had already filled the wagon with circa 1000 black 1x1 round plates, so I don’t really want to open it anymore… lol :-) ETA: You should build a small station or other trackside building to go along with your trains. Not the whole building, but just the facade. I think you can make those awesome as well. Edited November 8, 2015 by 6ix Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Impressive work ...like always! Very nice MOC and beautiful subject ...I working on the same kind of wagons! Quote
Lego Dino 500 Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I really love how detailed all your models are, and the scale and effort that you put into all of these. Do you have any videos of your Lego trains running? Quote
Sven J Posted November 10, 2015 Author Posted November 10, 2015 Thanks everyone for your compliments! You should build a small station or other trackside building to go along with your trains. Not the whole building, but just the facade. I think you can make those awesome as well. I feel honored by your confidence. As my models represent industrial vehicles belonging to a colliery and ironworks company, I already thought about building a headframe as a background for my railway. However, it would be an extraordinary challenge to model such a thing correctly, and in my chosen scale, it would be almost 2 m tall… But never say never, so let’s see what the future will bring. Very nice MOC and beautiful subject ...I working on the same kind of wagons! That sounds promising. Please show them when they are finished! I really love how detailed all your models are, and the scale and effort that you put into all of these. Do you have any videos of your Lego trains running? There are video links in the postings on my passenger cars and my 0-8-0. Or just visit my Bricksafe folders. Quote
SteveB Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Beautiful model. What track is that running on? Assuming non-L guage are those Lego wheels sets? Steve Quote
GI_Jack Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Beautiful model with great attention to detail. Well done! Quote
Sven J Posted November 10, 2015 Author Posted November 10, 2015 (edited) Beautiful model. What track is that running on? Assuming non-L guage are those Lego wheels sets? Steve Thanks to you, too! The wheels are BBB L drivers. Lego Emerald Night drivers would also fit, but since they have counterweights, I do not like to use them on wagons. The pictures show the wagon standing on Märklin gauge 1 rails; but due to the high flanges of BBB wheels, this is for display only. In operation, my models are running on LGB track (45 mm). A detailed discussion of the rail-and-flange problem can be found in my post on the Knapsack 0-6-0T. Edited November 10, 2015 by Tenderlok Quote
