matt_one Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 (edited) Very big-size mecha: 81 studs tall ( 25 inches ), 6000 bricks used. Modelled with Lego Digital Designer, rendered with Simlab Composer. Edited November 13, 2015 by matt_one Quote
Spirit Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Now that's a great combination of smoothness and complexity. I especially like how you take advantage of the huge scale of the model to use big parts and make them look like tiny details. The weapons on the hips and shoulders are particularly well designed here. Very nice job. Quote
matt_one Posted November 10, 2015 Author Posted November 10, 2015 (edited) Hi Spirit! It's nice to see your comment as the first ( and only )! I'm not really looking for big size, but usually I start with head design and this time the head was bigger than previous. That's why size are so large. I made a special effort to design weapons and whoever can imagine the role of shoulder launchers. But don't ask me how the hip weapons work.... Thanks for your appreciation! LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Wow 6000 pieces used! Fantastic creation! I like the rifle and the red rockets in the shoulders Quote
matt_one Posted November 10, 2015 Author Posted November 10, 2015 Oh, yeah, exactly 6000 bricks used. Thanks! Quote
Spirit Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 But don't ask me how the hip weapons work.... I especially like those. The fact I have no idea what they are makes them even more interesting. I was wondering what they could be, but they're so specific they'd necessarily be something really nasty. I'd say most likely light based. They remind me of a device I've seen once that was causing seizures. But it could also blind the enemy (cameras or pilots). Or something entirely different of course. Makes me want to make one, put it on a ship, give it to a kid and ask him what he thinks it is. xD Quote
matt_one Posted November 11, 2015 Author Posted November 11, 2015 I especially like those. The fact I have no idea what they are makes them even more interesting. I was searching for something different to attach on the side of the waist instead of usual skirt-plates. I like the shape and used them, these are very interesting for themselves and should be good as engine section on a ship. I'm trying to use them as shoulder on my current new mecha, with necessary adjustments. Quote
