Richard Dower Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 (edited) MODS...what do you think of a topic sticky for Technic bargain alerts?..... just bought 42038 for 58 Euro!....its reduced to 64 + an online voucher for a further 6 Euro off! http://www.smythstoy...ic-truck-42038/ http://www.smythstoy...o/voucherterms/ Edited November 11, 2015 by Jim
Rishab N Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 (edited) There's already a topic for this http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=83016 Edited November 11, 2015 by Rishab N
TinkerBrick Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 @Rishon N: I think his idea is to create a topic where you could share current offers of technic sets. So other users might get a chance to grab them as well. There 3 such threads over at the German afol forum "Doktor Brick": one for LEGO Brand Store bargains, one for online retailers and one for Brick@Mortar shop incl. chains.
Alasdair Ryan Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Topics like these should be posted in the buy/sell section of eurobricks, the actual problem is that some members of this forum don't browse through the other category's of the forum. Keeping links to deals in one place means that others (how may not deal with that particular theme of lego ie: technic) can access them more easily and quickly.

Jim Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Hi, We don't need a pinned topic for bargains. There are a lot of other topics which would take precedence over a bargain topic. But we tend to keep the pinned topics to a minimum, especially with 2 or 3 contest topics being pinned most of the time. I don't mind having a dedicated "LEGO Technic Bargain Alert" topic, which can be included in the Index. (done)

dr_spock Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Details like what country or region the deal is valid should be indicated in the post. Also the sales period and any conditions like online, in store only, buy 2, etc. So we aren't wasting our time clicking on links and finding out we can't make use of it because of international shipping is too expensive or the deal has expired...

Exactly! This thread needs some guidelines in order to be effective! Indeed country, sales period, type of discount etc
aeh5040 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 USA: www.amazon.com has 42009 down from $220 to $178 (20% reduction) as well modest discounts on a few other sets.
Jay Psi Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 (edited) Time for me to make this thread slightly more useful... The 42043 Mercedes Benz Arocs is currently available at Amazon.de for €159, a €40.99 (20%) reduction on their usual price. That's £112 at the current conversion rate, a sizeable reduction on the current Amazon.co.uk price of £146, not to mention the £169.99 RRP. Even with shipping to the UK it is still under £125. It's been hovering between €159 and €170 for a few days now but I think it will stay at the current figure until the Christmas shopping picks up (is Black Friday a thing in Germany?) Looks like I have no more excuses not to familiarize myself with the latest and greatest Technic offering! Edited November 15, 2015 by Jay Psi
Richard Dower Posted November 15, 2015 Author Posted November 15, 2015 Argos Ireland has several Technic sets at discounted prices, but do check stock availability from your nearest store: http://www.argos.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10152&catalogId=14551&langId=111&searchTerms=technic&authToken=%252d1002%252c8RvTgzRQUIkiaCQg1wd0wg264Io%253d
bonox Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 (edited) surely the country/region specific sales threads are better suited to this? Otherwise you get a world of stuff all mixed together with most of it useless to most of the people who come through the technic forum. That takes care of Jim's guidelines at post #10. You could even call the thread "LEGO TEchnic Bargain Alerts"! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showforum=16 Or perhaps I just don't want to hear about the great deals the rest of you can get that would cost me the price of a small car to get shipped here. Jim Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Looking at the link, I notice it's called "Buy, Sell, Trade AND FINDS". Maybe we should lock this topic and use the other forum. That's what it's there for. (done) So, post your bargains here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showforum=16
