Hello everyone. :)

I started assembly of model 42009 and had some problems.

The colors of some parts dark gray and black confuse a lot in the installation instructions.

In these models with many parts, I'm always afraid to miss some.

I just build the 1st half of 42009 and are missing 4 x 4164133 and 2 x 4211815.

The mirrors were unfinished.

That left some parts but lack other, this is normal?

Lego free sends the parts that are missing?

Thank you

Paulos

If you are missing parts you can always contact lego customer service and mostly sent the parts for free. The difference between black and dark grey is indeed hard to see in the instructions

If You bought it new, check carefuly again in Your box or plastic pouch/pockets.

Yeah, most of the time when I have missing parts I have some other extra parts, that should not be left as such. It always turned to be a missed step or wrong parts were used. So instead of going and asking LEGO for missing pieces I would go and compare your model with building instructions.

Well, it is quite simple then. The parts you are missing are quite similar to the ones you have as extra. I see 4 of thin 3L beams and one 5L axle as extra in your pile (these shouldn't be here). So you would need to go through instructions and check each step containing one of the parts below and later compare with what you have actually used in your model.

Same goes to 3L and 5L axles, but it would be a bit more harder to find I believe.

Steps, where You could misuse 2L halfbems, are on pages 94 and 130.

They are OK at the right place. :)

I believe that all is well built.

Everything works well.

They missed these parts.

I will continue with the construction and pray not to miss any more parts..

I am always panic when I can not find the piece I search because I have to stop construction because of it.

Luckily, those that lacked only prevent me from completing the mirrors.

Thank you for your sympathy and sorry for the bad english.

I am portuguese. :)

Do You have there 2L or 3L?

Maybe you should call customer service, since they supplied you with a lot of orange parts, instead of yellow

Jokes aside, looking at the parts you have left, it almost has to be a mistake in the build.

speaking of errors on the 42009: I make one little mistake - the 9L liftarm in the middle of the window frame, by using a DBG i.s.o. a black one - and of course that just had to be a piece that took a sticker :sceptic:

I find my error when the DBG liftarm is - obviously - missing for the boom construction, but I do find a spare black one. The funny thing (I mean after plenty of valium coz of the wasted sticker) is that a black liftarm works better than a DBG one in the boom, since everything else is already black.

Hello Jim,

warm light ??? :)

I will continue to mount, and in the end, if something does not work well I will have to review everything from the beginning.

As I intend to modify to the Ultimate / RC version, when I start to build it again I will be able to see if I did something wrong.

I'll post here some new photos as I end the two following modules to show missed or left parts.

Thanks to you all.
