ZCerberus Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Project M continues with this blue dump truck. The cab is 6 wide, but in reality, the truck should be wider, so I made the dump bed and fenders about 8 wide to make it fit a little better and give a little more room for play. I embellished a little on the sides adding a control box that would be absent on a "normal" dump truck. The ones I saw either had an extra set of retractable wheels or nothing in the area, but I wanted to spice up the model a little. I the box design is a little off but it looks solid on display, so I am sticking with it. On some versions I saw, the mudguards were attached to the bed itself, but that would have cause issues with my truck, so I attached them to the frame instead. The skid steer loader getting the dump truck ready to haul some materials. Bonus shot. Checkout the Project M description and Excavator by clicking the picture ==> Quote

Sven F Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I like when mocs look legaly built as though lego would have produced them that way. Size is good for this vehicle. Quote
eurotrash Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Good looking Dump truck. I really like the SNOT wheel arches and the entire front end. Quote
ZCerberus Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 I like when mocs look legaly built as though lego would have produced them that way. Size is good for this vehicle. Thanks. I guess I describe my style as "enhanced classic". I will use SNOT and find a new use for a piece, but going super illegal with wacky and precarious connections is not what I do. That said, there are a few bits LEGO would not sanction for an official model due to how easily they can come off during play, though post Wall-E my faith in LEGO's design requirements is a bit shaken. mrcp6d Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Great work here Z! Cab is excellent. Box might benefit from some angles. Quote
flailx Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Love this truck! I dig the way you did the opening in the rear. Solid. Quote
Withacee Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Lovely build! It looks very robust and "Lego-ey". Good colours, too. Fits right into any city. Keep clicking those bricks together! Quote
Brick Capone Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Awesome work. I really like the whole look and feel of the thing. I really like how you used the silver bars/ingots for the mirrors. Quote
