Posted November 16, 20159 yr Even though the Aslanic temple in Thorshaven was little more than a large shrine, its construction took longer than the majority of the Aslanic temples built in the same period. This was mostly due to the distance between it and the home temple on Gorr as well as the Kaliphlin Civil war that broke out shortly after its construction began. When the time came to appoint a priest to the post, Lord Kral decided to rid himself of one of his most vocal critics. So it was that Brother Ernest soon found himself in the growing city of Thorshaven. Inside the temple:
November 16, 20159 yr Very nice! Using the cups for the railing support looks quite good. Keep it up!
November 16, 20159 yr Very nice shrine, I especially like the way you have made both the inside and the outside curve fairly smooth despite the thickness of the wall
November 17, 20159 yr The 1x3 arches over gold cones look really cool, as does the round shape of the shrine Excellent bit of rockwork too. It's great to see another of your Aslanic Temples
November 17, 20159 yr Mike, the building is fantastic. The gold on white pops, the arches combined with the cones are a great architectural touch of texture, and the flare at the top of the wall is inspired.
November 17, 20159 yr Impressive! Pretty strait forward dome method, I'm surprised I haven't seen it before. :) Love all the neat details!
November 20, 20159 yr Oh, this is really nice! And except for the Dome I actually have all the nessecary pieces to recreate and add this to may layout. It lookslike it would fit in really well! I like it very much!
November 22, 20159 yr Nice build! Maybe just a little too much gold used there and I feel that the blue bricks to represent water doesn't do justice to the rest of the build (which I like!). You did a great job on the structure, so smooth and round, the technique you used to fill the windows, your sphinx and the base that integrates well into the rock island
November 23, 20159 yr That is a pretty building, great use of pearl gold to bring out the highlights of the architecture. Looks like it should be more in that Valyrio Guild based on the color and design.
December 2, 20159 yr I thought we had seen the last of the Aslanic temples and then you pull this out of your hat! I am really impressed how you achieved the round shape without any gaps, and the architecture is just great. The Aslanic faith will continue to grow!
