Kristof Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Still I'd consider complete rework of that section. What about something like this: This makes up for fairly round, and pleasantly thick 'hatch' which even has some colorscheme to it and is perfectly sized for your porposes. Could certainly be even more fine tuned, I put this together in LDD fast just to show what I had on mind :) Quote

How about now? Quote
Kristof Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Looks good. When I suggested changes on the cockpit side, I was actually adressing different part, not the top cover. What I thought is to bulky was the 'side panel' connecting back of the cockpit with the side of the hull. Being 7 studs wide, that part really feels to 'high', which is espedially striking on the pictures of the right side. I'd pesonally try to reduce that panel by one stud (in vertical sense) so it better matches the cockpit contour as well as the thickness of the ship in general. Regarding the top corridor cover, that one looked alright even with these rounded slopes on top, yet I have to admit I like this stud version even more :) Quote
mickywrx Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Looks awesome. My only concern is the exhaust ports appear to sit too far forward. Love how you have done the landing gear and entry ramp. Quote
billyamy Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 Day 42 Modify the detail, wait for the light grey ladder. Quote
Sucram Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I've been lurking on this post for a while now, and so much for finishing it by New year! This is my favourite 75105 mod, but it's pretty much just a MOC now, eh? My only problem is the mandibles need to be 2 studs shorter. They look a little long. Quote
billyamy Posted January 19, 2016 Author Posted January 19, 2016 (edited) From 12th Nov to 13th Jan, over 43 nights. Finially--it so call finished! Thank you to every reply. Thank you to all valuable suggestions. Sorry. This is not a perfect modification. the ratio is not match with the MF. maybe I will re-modify it again someday I took away all the internal parts for storage Edited January 19, 2016 by billyamy Quote
Cyanide-Tipped Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Nicely done! Almost looks like 750 extra pieces after the modification. Quote
Joe7218 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Nice! It looks amazing can we have an underside pic please? Quote
ScottishDave Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 That looks amazing, especially compared to what you started with. As you intended, it looks like a mini UCS Falcon. I love the landing gear - very inventive. I really like the use of the dark and light grey: it looks perfectly balanced. I also like the use of the ladders on the engines, and the greebling is excellent. We've had a lot of Falcons hereabouts lately: yours really stands out, and in a good way! Quote
TheBear Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out, but in the end it looks really good. You have done really well to keep going with it over 43 nights! Quote
Kristof Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 You know I like it and I already praised the individual components so I'll be short - the entire thing looks great and I don't see much to improve (which is really something - I'm usually very unsatisfied customer, always pointing out the weak spots :D ). Regarding the scale and the fact that you started with standard lego set, such result is a great achievement. Well done! Quote
Richardo79 Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Nice set and nice rebuilding. :-) Is it possible to get the list of the extra pieces what you used? Quote
Gouniaf Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 One of the best Falcon I've seen on the internet. I see only good ideas on your MOC, good job ! Quote
strider117 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 For its scale, this is on par with the UCS Falcon! Very well done! Quote
Jayoheazy Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 How much did he upgrades cost out of curiosity? I also own the new MF and this looks fun Quote
billyamy Posted April 1, 2016 Author Posted April 1, 2016 Sorry for my late reply because I don't know this post come up again. AND also thank you for all nice comments. I really don't know how many extra parts are used because I MOD it by trial and error. And I am still trying to let the engine look better but still not satisfactory. Maybe will post photos later because my photobucket have some problems. Quote
