Thx joe

Still in the top plate stage, may do the landing gear later.

Day 15

Thinner the right mandible, keep mod the top plate but no pic, sorry!, ( actually. I am not satisfied of the top plate)

Day 16

Lower the centre circle more

It's coming along so far! I have plans to do this to my Falcon too, so this thread's good for inspiration! The reduced cockpit angle and mandible length are definitely a great improvement!

everythung great but these slopes with grille on the front. Those I think aren't accurate and also don't look exceptionaly well.

Yes! You are right.

Day 23

Seems the bar on the mandibles are too thick

That is a real MOC. I mean, even without the step by step pictures, we can guess with just the last picture that you have spend a lot on time on your Falcon.

I like the general shape, close to the original Falcon but with a personnal touch. This is a great job.

Good luck !

This is absolutely beautiful. Definitely a mod I'd want to do on my falcon. Is the interior still accessible?

Wow. To be honest when you started this topic, I didn't put my expectations high, thought this would be just another MOD which i'd commend and give thumb up but not really admire in the end. You already proved me wrong several 'days' before but now I can say this is excellent and trully mean it!

Looking forward to another day - honestly, without overacting :)

You've done something I could never see myself doing this is astonishing. I would even dare say this looks to be the most detail accurate falcon out there. I love it can't wait to see more.

You make an excellent point billyamy. At some point, I tried to add every tiny correct detail to my old 7965.

And guess what. All the greebling sat on top of the hull like a burger with double helpings of pickles, onions, tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise...

Adding lots of movie accurate details to a MF this scale doesn't work IMO. The details turn out garish and heavy handed, and distort those characteristic lines of the MF. So on my 75105 I decided to stay with out of the box greebling on top, thicken the mandibles, do the 2x4 wedge mod for the gaps, and some smoothing of the underside and a few mayor details. Less is more...

I think the modded Falcon looks great... but I'd beware of too much gruelling and detailing. At this scale the Lego bar can seem very thick and the detailing on the back of your Falcon may start to look a little 'steam-punk'.

The reshaping and everything else you've done has enhanced the model into something approaching a miniature 10179 but I'd just think about thinning out those details on the back section... this may be a case of less is more.
