MilkPls69 Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Over the past year I have been working on a custom millennium falcon based off the 2004 set. I started out with an LDD file uploaded by a flickr user by the name of Flynn2000 After heavily editing a lot of the interior details and adding my own special touches like a new Escape Pod and landing gear. I decided to post it here as I have been having trouble finding a way to connect my landing gear design to the actual ship itself. Some cool renders of the ship below along with a download to the file. If any of you could think of a way to attach the landing gear I would love to read them! Quote
Reputator Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Were you hoping to make the landing gear retractable or do you just need a brick with a technic hole in the center? Quote

Considering it will be a display piece most of the time I was hoping to just make it like the UCS one where they can be taken off and put back on. This is the closet I have gotten myself but it looks a bit too tall now. Junior Shark Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Awesome! But yep, definitely too tall. Quote
Joe7218 Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Cool! I espiccially like the interior For the kanding gear have you tried lying a '1x2 brick with axle hole' on its side? Quote
YellowCorvette Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 (edited) The Falcon looks great, but the height of the landing gears of the Falcon are too high of the Falcon and detracts the overall look of the Falcon when in landing mode. Edited November 21, 2015 by ArmstrongYong Quote
Fuppylodders Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 He already knows that armstrongyong, he said it himself its too tall. Have you tried removing the 1x3 technic beam on the landing gear and simply having the technic axle that goes through the landing gear straight to the technic piece that attaches with pin into the 2x2 plate with technic hole underneath it? Im on my phone at the moment and limited time (work) so cant find/link to show the exact pieces i mean, but its all there in your landing gear already. That would reduce the height by 2 beam thicknesses. Quote

Yeah recently tried that and I am rather happy with being one beam thick as it looks right to me but I will make some comparison shots Edited November 21, 2015 by MilkPls69 Quote
