marv Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 (edited) Hi =), recently I created many city vehicle MOCs to go with my modular houses. Unfortunately only few of them do exist in real bricks. But I am planning to build more ;). So here`s my city... The scale is a bit bigger than the original TLG scale. Cars are 6 wide+ and trucks 8 wide+. I think they fit quite well with the modulars. Civil - Cars hatchback blue car minivan_taxi sportscar3 sportscar4 red suv pickup_truck sportscar limo sportscar (original design by ER0L) fullsize pickup truck Civil - Trucks dumper truck container_truck tanker truck garbage truck mobile home transporter pickup tow truck (mod of 60081) truck Emergency Services baywatch_pickup fire engine (front inspired by ER0L`s fire engine) ambulance2 ambulance (inspired by Spacy Smoke's Ambulance ideas.lego.com/projects/17901) squad adu_truck adu_suv highway patrol (orginal mustang design by ER0L) police patrol car unmarked suv surveillance van (front inspired by Spacey Smokes ambulance) C&C welcome ;) Edited October 24, 2016 by marv Quote
Imanol BB Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Hi, i think you made a very impressive work, i love the details of the vehicles, specially the mobile home, it seems very nice, Good work. Quote
ER0L Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Great collection of vehicles! The cars in the first picture even seem to match the smaller-scaled modulars which is nice. I really like the style of your vehicles - they somehow look Town-ish, but there's a wide range of shapes and techniques to make them look more realistic. I guess my favourite is the container truck (could you tell something about the measurements of the container?). The ADU truck looks very nice, too. Also the Baywatch truck is a great idea, looks very playable. (And I like the Highway Patrol Mustang ,,, ). Anyhow, they all look very nice, would be great to see them "in the brick". Quote
marv Posted November 24, 2015 Author Posted November 24, 2015 Thank you! I try to keep all my creations as playable as possible. could you tell something about the measurements of the container? The container is 18 studs long and 9 studs wide. It is about 10 studs tall. I attached an .lxf of the container. Regards marv container_empty.lxf Quote
ER0L Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Thanks. Nice idea to snot the sides of the container. Quote
Sven F Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Great looking cars, I wish LEGO would turn the detailing on those up a notch, If you want vehicles to match the modulars, you really have to do it yourself. Great idea with the popsicle lights, it's a shame the trans-red color is ultra rare for them. Quote
badchriss Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Whoa, these Vehicles do look amazing. My Favorites are clearly the Mobile Home and the Pickup Truck. Really wouldn`t mind having the LDD Files for them, maybe i can get the right Parts for both.... Anywy, keep em coming, you`re doing a good Job. Quote
marv Posted November 25, 2015 Author Posted November 25, 2015 Thank you for the comments! The newest addition to my city is a dodge charger like car. police patrol car blue car I`ll try to keep my original (first) post updated with all my creations marv Quote
badchriss Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 The recent Charger is defiantly one of the coolest Police 4Doors and your newest MOCs really have that Charger Vibe. On the other hand they also look like something from the near future, mean and menacing. Quote
scottkey Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 These are all amazing. I'd love to build them. Quote
marv Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 (edited) A lot has to be moved in my town...so here are some trucks for transportation transporter truck and a street scene... Regards marv Edited November 27, 2015 by marv Quote
YellowCorvette Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Great vehicles design. I love the way you build the trucks and SUVs. I also like the sport cars, but I prefer the trucks and SUVs. Quote
NickRussia79 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Hello! Cars is very good, only the fire truck the wheels seem too big. Waiting for the continuation! P.S. Since I'm building a city in LDD? I would like to ask lxf file to download some of them. Thank you... Quote
marv Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 small update... hatchback pickup tow truck (mod of 60081) P.S. Since I'm building a city in LDD? I would like to ask lxf file to download some of them. Thank you... I will share the .lxf files at some point soon ... but not yet ;-). Quote
badchriss Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 That Hatchback looks incredible and so does the Towtruck. And hooray for considering to share the lxf Files.Would love to build some of your designed Vehicles someday. Quote
stiggy07 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 The vehicles look great , would love a copy of the lxf files when they become available Quote
Yooha Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Those designs are great! One advice though: the vehicles look a little dark, especially the front of them (I mean where the point of view is). You might try changing the direction of the lights (at least the ones from left and right) and move them a little closer to the foreground and not from the side of the picture (I hope it is understandable). Quote
neonic Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 motorhome and espacially the limo looks a bit short imo but further ... that's a nice collection of vehicles. Some are realy nice. Looks 'detailed' too. Any plans for trucks maybe? Quote
marv Posted December 10, 2015 Author Posted December 10, 2015 (edited) Thank you all for the feedback =). Thanks! Maybe I`ll try to play around with LDD to POV-Ray a bit in the future. My range of city vehicles becomes more and more complete...here is a construction truck with liftable rear axle. dumper truck Regards marv Edited December 10, 2015 by marv Quote
badchriss Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Wow,your Construction Truck looks great. Finally a LEGO Construction Vehicle that isn`t yellow.Interesting Choice of building the the Dumper with Bricks.Isn`t there a whole LEGO Piece for the Dumper or is there a Reason you made the Dumper with Bricks? Naptown11 Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 You've got my support for the Camper on Idea's a while ago and now I stumble across this. I like a lot of the vehicles you made but especially the fire truck. Will it fit in the Fire Brigade? I am looking for a new engine to put inside and or MOC the whole FB to have 3-4 Bays and a taller first floor with all the bays being full depth. Thanks for your help and keep up the great work. I tried it and it didn`t fit properly to my truck =D I like a lot of the vehicles you made but especially the fire truck. Will it fit in the Fire Brigade? I am looking for a new engine to put inside and or MOC the whole FB to have 3-4 Bays and a taller first floor with all the bays being full depth. Thanks for your help and keep up the great work. Unfortunately it is too wide and too long for the Fire Brigade modular. My approach on a fire station can be found here. Right now I am working on a version with less parts to make it affordable in real bricks. Quote
mrjennesjr Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Can't wait to get the .lxf files. (giddiness intensifies) Quote
zezke Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I am also looking forward to the .lxf files, very nice work! I guess those streets are going to be rather expensive? Quote
marv Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 This topic has not been updated for a while...so here are the latest vehicles: ambulance (inspired by Spacy Smoke's Ambulance ideas.lego.com/projects/17901) squad tanker truck fullsize pickup truck I also uploaded a file containing most of the .lxf files Quote
